Dragon Ball: I Became Cell in a Doomed Future Chapter 7

"New Namek? Does such a planet even exist?" Jaco sounded genuinely confused. "It definitely does, and it's still within the Milky Way Galaxy. You just need to find it." In the original timeline, North Kai could roughly sense the location of New Namek, which meant it had never left the Milky Way's range. Since it was still part of the Milky Way, it fell under the jurisdiction of the Galactic Patrol. Finding it shouldn't be a problem. "I see. I'll look up its coordinates in our database." The waiting made Levos anxious. He realized now he had been stuck in a mental trap all along, thinking only Goku could change this world's fate. But there were other ways to find New Namek's location, like asking the Galactic Patrol, or even contacting North Kai or the Supreme Kai. Speaking of which, he wondered if Shin, the current Supreme Kai, had come to Earth to stop Babidi from reviving Majin Buu. Shin, who inherited his title only because the Grand Supreme Kai was absorbed by Buu and the other four Supreme Kais were killed, had always been a bit unreliable, but his importance was second only to the Dragon Balls themselves. The Elder Supreme Kai had been sealed inside the Z Sword for countless years, and after his disappearance, the position automatically passed down to Shin, linking his life to that of the God of Destruction. Come to think of it, Beerus had incredible luck. Back then, when the Grand Supreme Kai led his four apprentice Supreme Kais to battle Majin Buu, he wasn't killed but absorbed, which indirectly spared the slumbering God of Destruction. But Beerus's good fortune had finally run its course. The current Supreme Kai, Shin, though kind-hearted, was notoriously reckless. In the Future Trunks timeline, he had sacrificed himself while battling Dabura. In the main timeline, he ignored Beerus's warnings and barged into the Future Trunks world to fight Zamasu. Levos was genuinely worried that this guy would impulsively charge in and pick a fight with Babidi. Even with a battle power in the hundreds of millions, the Supreme Kai was no match for Dabura, let alone Majin Buu. Losing a fight wasn't the problem. It was the fact that if he got killed, Beerus would die too. And with Beerus gone, Whis would enter his dormant state, which would plunge the world into true despair. The thought made Levos deeply uneasy. But for now, he had no way of contacting the Supreme Kai. He'd have to ask Merus later. The silence was finally broken when Jaco's voice came through with good news. "I found the coordinates of the planet you mentioned. Did you want me to head there now? What do you need me to do?" "How long will it take you to get there?" If Jaco wouldn't arrive until after three days, the wishes on Porunga would need to change. The priority would shift to restoring Earth first. But if he could make it within three days, then reviving Kami and Piccolo would remain the top priority. While it was possible to appoint a new Guardian from among the Namekians, Levos wasn't sure how long that process would take. Otherwise, he'd prefer to have Dende take over as Earth's new Guardian. Dende could fully upgrade the Earth's Dragon Balls. Levos also wondered whether the Namekian Dragon Balls in this timeline had already been enhanced by the new Grand Elder. In the original Majin Buu saga, the Earthlings who were killed by Buu were revived using the upgraded Porunga, which could revive multiple people at once. If this world's Porunga was also upgraded, it would solve a lot of problems. Even if it wasn't, the Namekian Dragon Balls were still Levos's greatest hope. "It'll take me about three days to get there. That's already the fastest ship the Galactic Patrol has!" Jaco said seriously. Levos felt his chest tighten. But thinking optimistically, Babidi's martial arts tournament might last more than a single day. If they could somehow stretch the tournament for a full day, there might still be a chance. Levos immediately relayed all the necessary details about the Namekian Dragon Balls and explained both wish scenarios to Jaco. "If Earth's destroyed by the time you make the wish, then your first priority is to restore the planet. After that, revive everyone on Earth who died within the past twenty-five years. If mass resurrection isn't possible, then prioritize Bulma and Son Goku. Once Goku's revived, have him bring a Namekian named Dende to Earth to assume the role of Guardian." Bulma needed to be revived because she knew Levos's plan and had critical tools like the Dragon Radar and the heart virus antidote. Reviving Goku meant he could use Instant Transmission to quickly gather the Dragon Balls. He was probably still training in Other World and would be a major asset once he returned. And Dende's importance went without saying. "If the Earth's still intact when you make the wish, then first try to revive everyone at once. If that doesn't work, prioritize reviving Kami and Piccolo, followed by Son Goku and Vegeta. That's all you need from me, right?" Jaco double-checked. "If things go the way I expect, then yes, that's all for now." Having a communication line open to Jaco finally eased Levos's nerves a little. "Alright, I'm heading out now!" After ending the call with Jaco, Levos quickly dialed the Galactic Patrol Headquarters again. "Hello, please connect me to Merus." Levos perked up immediately when he heard the voice. "Officer Merus, this is an emergency. I'll get straight to the point. Please forgive my abruptness." "No problem, I appreciate people who are direct." Merus's tone was polite and gentle. Levos naturally pictured the calm, elegant demeanor typical of the angel race. "I'd like to ask you to help me contact your brother, Whis." "So, you've already figured out my true identity." Merus didn't sound surprised at all. "Sorry, but I really don't have any other options." "No need to apologize. It was my choice to hide it. But I can't help you." "Why not?" Levos instinctively blurted out. "Because my brother… fell into dormancy six months ago." "What?! Don't tell me Lord Beerus was killed?" At this point, Levos's shock couldn't even be described with words. Beerus, the strongest in the universe, had been killed? "Lord Beerus never left his planet. The problem wasn't on his side." "Then… you mean the current Supreme Kai was killed by Babidi's group?" Levos immediately thought of the worst-case scenario. Had Shin charged in recklessly as usual, directly confronting Babidi without backup? If he'd dragged Kibito along just to die, not only would Beerus and Whis vanish, but they would've wasted the Potara earrings too. Levos was speechless. "Babidi? That name sounds familiar. But no, the Supreme Kai wasn't killed by him. The one who did it was a Saiyan who destroyed the South Galaxy." Of course. The Supreme Kai is always the weak link. No wonder Whis had been unreachable all this time. Levos's mind raced. A Saiyan who destroyed the South Galaxy? Wasn't that Broly's old movie version? And the old Broly was absolutely busted, a walking glitch. His power scaled exponentially as he aged. In this timeline, more than ten years had passed since the original Majin Buu saga. Which meant Broly's power had likely multiplied by tens of thousands, maybe even more. How strong was he now? The Majin Buu crisis hadn't even been resolved yet, and now Broly was suddenly in the picture? And this Broly had the purest, most violent Saiyan bloodlust, a true villain through and through. "Wait, I heard you've been chasing a group of escaped prisoners from the Galactic Prison. One of them wouldn't happen to be… Moro, right?" Levos probed carefully. "You even know the secret connection between the Supreme Kais and Gods of Destruction… no surprise you're aware of Moro's escape too." For the first time, there was a hint of curiosity in Merus's voice. Levos was beyond frustrated. In this timeline, without the main protagonist Goku for over twenty years, it wasn't that new enemies hadn't appeared, it was that they had all piled up. Of course, not all the big bosses were still around. At least Frieza and Cell should be out of the picture. This Earth never had the Dragon Balls needed to resurrect Frieza. And Cell had already traveled to the main timeline. Wait, speaking of Cell, a terrifying thought suddenly struck Levos. Could that Red Ribbon Army post about buying sodas and sandwich cookies actually be preparing for Dr. Gero's grandson? Was the universe really going to stack every single boss fight in the same timeline? If he were the Earth itself, Levos would just self-destruct on the spot. He glanced at Bulma beside him, her expression soft and peaceful as she allowed herself to believe, just for a moment, that there was still hope for the future. Levos couldn't bring himself to shatter that illusion with the brutal truth.
