Deal with The Devil! Chapter 83

With a final thump, the last pile of the books was placed before him. Jinn stared at the piles with a speechless look on his face. Just looking at those hard covers plastered with engravings and names, Jinn wondered if he did the right thing choosing so many majors at once. "Do you need an easy-carry bag for these books?" As if seeing through his internal struggle, the receptionist offered with a "kind" smile. Without taking his eyes off the books, Jinn shook his head and replied, "I don’t think a bag would make much of a difference here." There was no way those books could even enter any size of bag. So even asking for one was pointless. But, this time, the receptionist did not seem to be bothered by his rejection; instead, she leaned forward and whispered with a deeper smile. "I don’t think you understand the extent of what these bags can do." Intrigued, Jinn finally turned his head to see the woman take out a small leather side bag from somewhere and place it on the table beside the books. She casually picked one of the bigger and thicker books and tried to fit it in the small entrance of the bag. ’What is she trying to do here?’ Jinn looked at her pointless actions with a confused look, but his worldview changed when the book was instantly devoured by the darkness inside the bag as if something had snatched it from the inside. The speed at which it happened left him both surprised and startled. ’Is this some sort of storage space bag?’ "Do you get it now?" The Receptionist glanced at Jinn’s face with a knowing smirk and said, "it does not matter how heavy these books are; when they are inside this miraculous thing, you will feel only the weight of an empty bag." ’You got me at the demonstration, lady.’ Jinn thought the receptionist kept on trying to sell the product to him like a relentless merchant. Even though he was eager to buy the product, Jinn did not let it show on his face and calmly asked, "How much is it?" The smile on the receptionist’s face widened. "For the things it is capable of, the price is very cheap. Only ten pieces of your golden shine." "I will give you 1 Silver shine." The words instinctively left Jinn’s mouth without him even realizing. Even in his previous life, he was good at haggling with merchants and had made it a habit of lowering the price of anything he bought. There had only been a few people who ever made him want to pay the full price. Recalling the mysterious, shady, dark merchant, Jinn shivered in his spot. "W—" The woman sitting behind the table felt as if her brain was not braining. Looking at Jinn, it did not seem like the boy came from a poor background, even if he was not a noble. So she had assumed he would be able to buy the product if she showed him how much easier his life would be with it. But never in her life did she expect him to start haggling like he was in a street market. "The prices are non-negotiable, Mr. Alcott." Barely suppressing the twitch in her eye, the woman pulled the book out of the bag and tightly held on to it as if she were afraid Jinn might try and steal it from her. "Ahem." Jinn coughed and looked back at the bag before speaking with a self-righteous tone. "I was just joking before, but looking at the condition of the bag, Miss—" "Ruth, what condition might you be talking about?" The smile on the orange-haired woman’s face finally faded as she snapped her head towards the bag. While she was frowning, Jinn went on, "Look, the threads are coming out of the corners. The leather is blemished. There are many tears and even some scratches." It was not something he was making up. Jinn pointed out every flaw of the bag unrelated to its capability, from what both of them could see. "But this has nothing to do with what it can do." The receptionist ground her teeth inwardly while trying to keep a calm facade. "Even so, the aesthetic of the product is a great selling value. Even someone capable of buying it won’t take it out if it does not look..." Jinn and the receptionist continued to argue back and forth, and in the end, Miss Ruth finally relented and decided to take 9 Tulas from Jinn as a payment. "Thanks for understanding, Miss Ruth." Stuffing the books in the bag, Jinn waved at the woman before leaving. "Please tell me if there are any good products in the future." ’I would rather not sell you anything.’ If thoughts could kill, Jinn would not even have a fiber left behind. But as a proper receptionist and a part-time merchant, how could she let emotions surface and cloud her judgment? Jinn adjusted the bag on his shoulder under the blazer, which seemed to be able to hide it perfectly without showing much of a bulge. "What a good thing. An equivalent of Storage rings." Jinn whispered to himself as he walked out of the building. "It seems the space is not infinite, and I can only fit some books in it." Even at the prestigious Opal Trading Company branch, Jinn had not heard of anything . Recalling the price, it only made sense. Then he also realized that there might not have been a better version of this product since even the children of noble families were carrying their luggage by hand and not in something . Stepping out of the building, Jinn saw the faint traces of sunlight in the distance, but the sky above was still dark. Under the deep blue sky, the magical fountains shimmered brightly. Jinn ignored the front section of the ground and walked around the academy building. After all, no one displays the good stuff out in the open. Thᴇ link to the origɪn of this information rᴇsts ɪn novelꞁire.net Even before Jinn reached the open area where several training dummies were surrounding a dark silhouette, he could hear the sound of metal tearing the air from afar. As he got closer, Jinn caught the reflection of moonlight on the glossy blue streaks of hair. It was a young boy his age practicing with a spear. There was no special ability or enhancement of energy on or around his body, just pure skill. Jinn found himself attracted by the efforts of the young man and stepped closer. When he had barely taken a single step, a sudden current of water appeared out of nowhere, embracing the spear he was holding. He shifted the direction of the spear with a flick of his wrist and unleashed an attack in the same direction Jinn was standing.
