Since the incident Scott has been distant, I didn’t see any problem with kissing Elijah though, but it felt like Scott was overreacting, he has a gf and he wasn’t supposed to be poking into my affairs. We had a plan and I was sticking to it. I never asked about where he ran off too on several occasions, he would come back late at night and leave in the early hours of the morning.
I suspected he was going to visit Kylie but still I never questioned his movement.
Hansel interrupted my thought with a knock.

Alpha Damien has sent me to inform everyone in the Mansion that today was a family dinner, so everyone who had adopted the Damien name was to appear in the Dining hall at 8:00am.
I looked at the clock on the wall, it was already 7:30 am. Did you by any chance see Scott? I asked, I couldn’t have breakfast alone with his entire family. They despised me, they despised him but I was certain we could share the heat.
No ma’am, I haven’t seen him, but he usually goes for a run between 6:00am to 7:30 in the morning, he should be in his way home now. He answered and I flicked my finger in the hair motioning for him to leave,
I hurriedly prepared, for breakfast downstairs. I was almost done when Scott walked into the room. He looked clean and his muscles were heavy, I stared at him for a while, but he didn’t seem to mind me, he didn’t even look at me twice.
We walked down the stairs quietly, it was 8:10 and everyone was already seated at the table, we were late. What a bad way to start bonding with the family.
Luna Sandra wouldn’t miss a chance to come at us. She cleared her throat, looking sternly at Scott.
You would let the Alpha come sit down waiting for you to just walk in sluggishly before we eat? Who do you even think you are? She asked.
The fact that Scott ignored her, ignited her fury even more, I looked around the table and Elijah was nowhere to be found. I thought this was an order and probably Alpha Damien had something important to say.

Do not speak about Elena in such a manner, you can insult me as much as you’d want to, but never talk about Elena, he pointed his finger at her. He was vibrating from anger, he folded his hand into a fist, I rested my palm on his gently on the table, I spoke calmly, his eyes were already turning red.
I was frightened but yet, I continued to rub his hand, I saw his red eyes turn blue in an instant.
Alpha Damien looked impressed, I was getting that he was a genuinely good man, he loved his son. He wanted to see Scott become great and be somebody.
He had a smirk on his face as he ate his breakfast.
Scott, have you been hearing from Kylie? I invited her to the wedding but I guess she was too busy to attend her boyfriend’s wedding. So, tell me, you both still together? Luna Sandra asked inquisitively.
At this point, I was fed up. Not that I didn’t know Scott had a girlfriend. But hearing him say Kylie was doing okay meant they were still seeing each other and I guess they were getting serious.
He was always sneaking off to take his calls and whispering to, not that I cared but now I understand how he felt when he saw I and Elijah.
I was sure I didn’t want Scott but it’s funny how I still didn’t want him to be with anyone else.
When are you giving us grandchildren Scott? It’s been months now and yet no sign of procreation, are you infertile? Luna Sandra asked mockingly.
I couldn’t stand anyone humiliating Scott, I wouldn’t not after he had just stood up a few minutes ago for me. It was enough that he was being treated as trash in his own father’s house.
Elijah walked into the Dining hall and took a seat, no one said a word. I was disgusted as I turned my gaze to face Luna Sandra who kept stuffing a lot of food in her mouth.
Everywhere was quiet and I spoke up.
Would you let him be for a bit, please. We are working on it and it’s none of your business, we’ll give you grandkids when we are ready but for now, we just want to enjoy our marriage.
I shot right back at her. She bowed her head in shame and kept eating without uttering a word.
Scott stood up and stretched out his hand to me and I took it, we walked hand in hand out of the dining hall. The moment we were out, we went our separate ways without saying a word to each other.
I visualized the look on Elijah’s face, he was in total disbelief, I loved how he couldn’t hide his jealousy. He wanted me now and I didn’t want him nor did I want his brother.
If I have my way, I wouldn’t want to be in anyway connected or entangled with this messed up family.
I was so lost in my own imagination when I bumped into one of the guardians in the mansion.
His face was a bit covered and he seemed to be in a hurry, there was something familiar about this guardian. I couldn’t tell where I had met him before, he stared at me before bowing in apology.
It’s okay, do I know you somewhere?
He shook his head, still maintaining his distance, I tried to get close but he dashed off. I couldn’t shake off the feeling that I had met him somewhere, although I couldn’t see his face completely. It bothered me so much.
I had to forget about that and prepare for my big day tomorrow, we resume training and it’s going to be fun. I couldn’t wait to see Devon.
