DC Comics: The Bookstore Witch Chapter 36

Walking through the streets of Gotham, Wanda was making her way towards where she knew that the botanist that she wanted to work in her shop was. The botanist in question was, of course, Poison Ivy. She was one of the best of the best in the area, and was also connected to the Green, the Multiverse standing force that is connected to nature itself, that is nature itself. She wasn't as strong as someone like the Swamp Thing, but she was powerful. That and she was hot, so that was a plus. She wanted Ivy so that she could make her shop a bit more lively, adding new plants to the shop to make it a bit more friendly looking. That and she was quite interested in seeing what the woman could do if she was to go to one of her personal worlds she had connected to the shop. After all, she had a few that were entirely farms and plant dimensions, and even ones that were just completely full of all sorts of plans, and even a few that simulated the evolution of species like dragons and phoenixes. It was all quite interesting really, and and had led to a number of new books being made in response to the new species that were born over time. She planned on bribing Ivy with the ability to freely travel to these places, as well as helping her purify the planet of it's increasing amounts of corruption, a corruption that would lead to it's eventual death if they didn't stop. Global Warming was already rearing it's head, it was only a matter of time before more and more disasters begin to occur in response. This was why she was heading to Arkham Asylum, where the woman was currently trapped. She was in prison as usual, and would likely escape in the coming weeks as she always did. But Wanda wanted her as a worker, so she'd just break her out herself. Not like she cares much about the law or anything, nor could anyone ever find Ivy unless she allows them to. Well, she was also interested in the connection to the Green, and whether or not she can mimic it to get some neat plant based powers, but that was not as important as having a new worker to make her shop look better. From what Wanda could gather about Ivy, she was closer to her show counterpart from that one cartoon with her and Harley, the adult one. She remembered it was largely a comedy, so she also looked into the others that took part in that show. Low and behold, most of them were in line with it, funnily enough. Seems this world had influences of more than just one show and the comics. Makes things more complicated, but also a lot more interesting for the Godlike being. 'Hmm, maybe if she and Harley hook up I can have her as a worker too? No idea what Harley could do as a job though. Maybe something involving one of my dimensions? Or maybe something involving traveling to other worlds? Or even advertisement? Eh, I'll have to think about it, she would be an interesting person to have working' Wanda thought, as hiring Harley was also an interesting idea, but that woman was...well, psychopathic. And while she was seemingly close to getting out of her Joker phase, she was still...not mentally there, like...at all. Speaking of the Joker, Wanda had decided she would wipe him from this universes existence should she ever run into the mad clown. Especially after she had looked into his crimes in this universe, something even she, an entity with memories of all sorts of horrors, was disgusted and angered by. Joker was a monster, even by her standards. The fact that he was left alive by the Bat and the League was disgusting, and one of the reasons why she was not particularly fond of their rules and beliefs. As not all villains deserve redemption, and Joker was one of them. It was like trying to redeem Hitler after his actions in WW2, it simply didn't make any damn sense. They were both monsters, and both deserved death, something that the public seemed to agree on, with all sorts of forums always talking about the topic of the Joker and the fact that the Batman should just end him. Soon, after walking for around an hour, just relaxing as the rains dropped upon her umbrella, as she walked through the gates of Arkham Asylum, with no one even being able to sense her at all. It didn't take long before she had found the green skinned woman, stopping in front of her specialized cell as she watched her toss a ball against the walls of the cell. Upon looking at her, she could also see it. The connection to the Green, and Wanda had to admit that it was stronger than she had initially expected. Gazing at the connection, seeing it as a simple green string, Wanda hummed, and decided she would look into connecting herself to it as well, as she found it could be neat. But for now, she had more important things. Like recruiting a new worker. "Doctor Pamela Isley" Wanda's voice echoed, causing the woman to stop and turn to her, her eyebrows shooting up upon seeing her. "Who are you?" Ivy asked, having never seen her at the prison before, and she had been there so often that it was hard not to know all the workers. Hell, she called most of them by name at this point. "A...potential employer" Wanda said after a couple of seconds of thought. "...An employer? You wish to what, hire me?" Ivy asked, raising an eyebrow, fighting down the amusement that was threatening to show. "Mmhmm. You see, I run a rather...special store, a book shop. One that has frequent guests that are not from around here, one that is also home to some rather special dimensions that I do believe you would find interesting" Wanda explained, as Ivy looked at her with a snort. "You want me to believe that you have some magic bookstore that can-" Wanda didn't let her finish, as she snapped her fingers, the two of them reappearing in a vast green landscape, all sorts of green plants around it. "Wha-what did you just do?!" Ivy asked, a gasp ripping from her throat as she could feel it. The nature, the plants, the life. It was...incredible, so pure, so very beautiful, and well beyond anything on Earth, as if it had been completely and utterly untouched. "I brought you to one of the dimensions of my creation. This one is host to the less hostile plants that I have created, and is one of 6 dimensions that you would be able to access freely. You will also get paid well above minimum wage, and I will also aid you in that endeavor you are trying to very hard to complete" Wanda responded, Ivy looking at her with narrowed eyes. "What endeavor?" Ivy asked, wanting to see if she knew. "I will aid you in the purification of Earth. In a way that won't end all humans, but will instead wipe out global warming, and the corruption that is killing the beautiful planet" Wanda responded, as she could see the skepticism in Ivy's eyes. "...And what would you want me to do in this shop of yours?" "Simple. You'll take care of the plants, help stock, help cook, and all the basics really. You'll also be given access to the apartments upstairs which are completely impossible to break into, giving you a safe haven from any heroes that might try to capture you" Wanda replied with a shrug. She didn't actually need Ivy as an employee. But she thought it would make things a bit more interesting without actually harming her shop in any manner. If anything it would make it better, well, at least she hoped it would. "...And how much is this wage?" Ivy asked, as even a villain wanted to get paid well. "I was thinking 30 dollars an hour with possible bonuses and raises. You will also be under my personal protection, so as long as you don't harm innocents, then I'll protect you from capture, as well as heal you should you ever get injured" Wanda replied, inwardly smirking, as she knew that she had her now. "And what if I don't accept your offer?" "Then I'll just put you in a random place in Gotham and wish you luck. Although I have to ask, do you really want to continue to do some villainy in hopes that it would change things, get stopped by the Bat, get locked up, break free, and then do that over and over again? That cannot be an enjoyable experience" Wanda said in response, as the green skinned woman looked into her eyes, before a sigh escaped her lips, and she spoke the words that Wanda wished to hear. "Fine...I accept, I'll work for you" At these words, Wanda smiled, shaking the woman's hand, and spoke. "It's a pleasure to have you on board...Ivy" ____________________________________________________________________ Gain access to an additional chapter early for each of my main fanfics (4 chapters on total), as well as other bonuses (like more than 75 exclusive stories) on my for 3 dollars a month! There was a rather sizeable fire not even a 50 yards from my house, and we were in threat of having to evacuate, so it was...not a very fun time. But we're all good now! (At the time this was written this was the case, but that was a few days ago, so we're all good now) should be a lot better. Anyways, have a good day!
