DC Comics: The Bookstore Witch Chapter 21

Gazing at Rimuru Tempest, the main character of "That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime". She could tell that he was likely around the time period before the Ogre's appear within his village, and before Geld Senior made his appearance as the Orc Disaster. 'Not all that strong, but has tons of potential. I wonder what sort of skills I would receive should I go to that world? Would that world even be capable of giving me skills? I am quite powerful, after all' Wanda mused, contemplating the idea of going to his world. On the other hand, Rimuru was looking at Wanda in confusion, wondering who the hell she was, as she seemed VERY familiar for some reason. 'Great Sage, can you sense anything from her?' He inwardly thought, not being able to sense anything from her with his senses. [Negative. The individual does not exist] 'Wha-what do you mean she doesn't exist?! She's right in front of me!' Rimuru exclaimed inwardly, as he noticed the amused look on Wanda's face, causing him to school his features the best he could. [The individual in front of you does not exist] 'But-how? She's right there!' [The individual in front of you does not exist. It does not have magicules, it does not have a life signature. Chances of death in a confrontation is 100%] 'Wha-but what do you mean the chance of death is 100%?!' Rimuru inwardly asked in alarm, as he glanced at Wanda, who was raising an eyebrow, hearing every single word that was happening between the two of them. [The likelihood of being in front of you being a higher entity is 100%. The chance of death should you confront it is 100%. Advised to not anger it] 'So she's what, a God?' [Negative. The entity in front of you is stronger than a God] '...Okay...okay, let's just calm down. You've got this Rimuru, you've fought some pretty scary stuff so far, so a bookstore owner should be nothing!' Rimuru thought inwardly with a fake smile as he walked forwards, and spoke. "Hi! I'm Rimuru, how did this place appear in my town?" Rimuru asked, cringing as he got right to the point, Wanda giggling at the question. "Because I wanted it to, Rimuru. Why else would it?" Wanda asked, as the androgynous man just stared at her, realizing that Great Sage was right in its estimation of her being something more than human. "...And what is this place?" Rimuru asked, looking around. He already had an idea, but he wanted confirmation. "Why a bookstore of course! But you already know that, don't you? Just like you already know that I am not human? After all, you've been interacting with that Sage of yours" Wanda replied with a small smile, as the man flinched slightly, understanding that she could hear everything that he was saying to Great Sage, which was...concerning. "Don't worry though, I could care less that you're a slime or a reincarnator, I just run a simple bookstore! In exchange for currency from your world or other knowledge and books, you may buy my own! I've got books from around existence, magics that don't belong to your world, and my wares will only continue to increase over time!" Wanda said with a bright grin, the shelves glimmering as the magic books formed. "...What's your name?" Rimuru asked, hating that he recognized her, but he simply couldn't place her name. Looking at him, her grin formed into a wide smile, as she replied "Wanda Maximoff, it's a pleasure to meet you, Rimuru Tempest" At the name "Wanda Maximoff", his eyes shot wide. He had read comics in his past life, even if he preferred Manga and anime. And in those comics, especially the American ones, he remembered Wanda Maximoff, the Scarlet Witch. The woman who had wiped out mutants across an entire Multiverse, one of the most powerful beings in Marvel comics. A being of chaos and magic and impossibility. And she was standing in front of him. "No need to be afraid, I'm both her and not her. It's quite complicated really. I won't go all "No More" on you or anything, of that you should have no worries" Wanda continued, knowing that the man was growing increasingly afraid of her, knowing just how powerful she was. She was capable of single handedly wiping out the entire "Tensura" universe with ease, not a single one of them being able to fight her. Not Guy Crimson, not Milim, not Rimuru at his very peak, and not even Veldanava himself. None of them. And it seemed that Rimuru understood that. "O-okay" Rimuru said, controlling his features so as to not show how terrified he was right now. Sure, he was scared of Veldora when he first met him, but this is absolutely nothing in comparison to the woman in front of him. He didn't even want to know what she would do to him if he pissed her off. "Now, why not browse some of my wares? I also serve teas, coffee, and bakery goods if you'd like any of those" Wanda said, as the man nodded slowly. "I'm good, but I'll look at your books" Rimuru replied in slight fear, walking over to the magic book section, as he inwardly sweated. 'Wanda Maximoff!? What the hell is she doing here!? She's from Marvel! Does this mean that Marvel comics exists? And does that mean I can run into more characters from Marvel?! Oh God I'm so screwed!' Rimuru thought in terror, only to stop as Wanda spoke. "I'm the only one you'll run into, Rimuru. And even if you did somehow run into them, I'll deal with them for you. I'm quite fond of your story, after all" Wanda said with a smile, as he shuddered, but nodded. 'What does that mean? My Story? Does that mean she can see the future or something?' Rimuru thought, having many many questions, and he was beginning to only have more and more coming to his mind. Wanda just listened to all of this in amusement, finding this entire situation to be hilarious as he seemed so very terrified of her, even if she wasn't going to do anything to him, nor did she have any reasons to. He had a LOT of potential for the future, and for her store, and there was no way she was going to do anything to ruin that. Shaking off the fear, he began to look over the books, reading many of them only to blink in surprise. 'This...isn't this a book from Harry Potter?' Rimuru thought with furrowed eyebrows, realizing that she wasn't lying about the books around existence part. '...Great Sage, how useful would Harry Potter magic be to me?' [94.5% of spells are useless. Th spells known as the "Unforgivables" have use. There is a 60% chance of the Killing Curse involving an attack on the very soul, making it a 100% certain boost to the users capabilities] 'Alright then, so basically yes, yes it'll be useful to me' Rimuru thought, deciding that he would acquire Harry Potter books for now. Reaching out he grabbed a few Harry Potter books, mostly the simple ones that Hogwarts students are taught, as Wanda didn't have a book on the unforgivables, not yet at least. She planned on getting them once she got some more variety in her store from the Harry Potter universe, like maybe Draco Malfoy or one of the Death Eaters. She was neutral, after all. After selecting his books, Rimuru walked back to the counter, and placed them down. Looking them over, Wanda hummed. "How do you want to pay? Books, currency, or the third option" "Third option?" Rimuru asked, realizing that he didn't have any sort of currency on him, not at the moment. "Exchange of knowledge. I'll copy knowledge directly from your brain in return for the books. Knowledge like those skills of yours, or you can also opt to pay in items, like magical plants. My green world would love some new plants" Wanda said with a smile. "You mean green house, right?" "Nope, I've got an entire green house world full of my plants. Now, which will it be?" Wanda asked, as the man just looked at her blankly, before sighing. "I'll exchange items" Rimuru said, as a stack of Hipokute Grass as well as Baffledil, and a few other plants she didn't recognize, but seemed to passively exude small amounts of magicules. "Hmm...alright, that'll be enough for the books" Wanda said with a hum, as all the books he had bought were low level ones that weren't worth very much, so she was okay with the plants. They'd be helpful for new teas and other stuff anyways. Flicking her wrist the plants were sent off to her Greenhouse world, and were planted instantly, as they rapidly grew thanks to her creating the world with a time dilation on it, making time move much faster inside, as well as other things like automatic gathering and planting, and other stuff like that. "Alright then, is that all?" Wanda asked, as the man nodded slowly. "Great, have a good day, Rimuru! Oh, and next time you should bring some books! Or perhaps find a way of exchanging skills, as I'd love to gain some skills from our world" Wanda said with a smile, watching in amusement as Rimuru practically sprinted from the store, leaving her alone once again. Watching as he fled, she giggled, as she had one thought on her mind, as she prepared to wait for her next customers.
