Dawn Walker Chapter 86

--- Now he was sitting in a clean bed in his father’s mansion, surrounded by wings, reading a status window like it was normal life. Sekhmet’s gaze softened slightly. He looked at Bat Bat. Bat Bat was staring at him with wide eyes, as if Bat Bat could sense the increase even without numbers. Bat Bat’s wings twitched. Bat Bat’s body trembled. Sekhmet’s eyes narrowed. "Bat Bat," Sekhmet said carefully, voice low. "Are you okay?" Bat Bat did not answer. Bat Bat started glowing. Not faintly. Brightly. A red light burst from Bat Bat’s body like a flare. WHOOM—! The glow filled the room, painting the walls crimson. The lantern flame shrank as if intimidated, then steadied again, burning small but stubborn. Auri’s wings opened instantly. Her posture shifted from standby to combat-ready. The six rare bats flared their wings, eyes brightening, claws digging slightly into the floor. Sekhmet stood up slowly, eyes locked on Bat Bat. The glow wrapped around Bat Bat like a cocoon. Bat Bat’s tiny body stretched. The bone cracked softly. Crick... crick... Bat Bat’s wings pulled in, reforming. The glow intensified. Bat Bat’s shape changed again, smoother now. Sekhmet’s jaw tightened. His instincts screamed: unknown transformation. Unknown result. He did not move to stop it. Because he could feel it — this was not an attack. This was growth. This was an awakening. The red light shimmered like heat over desert sand. Then it began to dim. Slowly. Like a curtain closing. When the glow finally faded, something small stood on Sekhmet’s bed. Not a bat. A girl. Tiny. A fist-sized lady. Six inches tall. She stood barefoot on the blanket, skin pale with a faint red warmth, hair a deep crimson-black, falling to her waist. Her face was delicate, almost doll-like, but her eyes were sharp and alive. Small bat wings were tucked behind her back, and a thin tail flicked once like it was testing gravity. Her expression was proud. Like she had just won a war. Sekhmet froze. Auri froze too. The six bats froze, as if even they did not even know what the correct reaction was. Sekhmet’s mind struggled for a second. His first thought was absurd and immediate. "That... is Bat Bat...." His second thought came right after. "Bat Bat is a girl." The third thought slapped him across the face like karma. "Bat Bat peed on enemies." Sekhmet’s eyes widened slightly. He felt his face go blank. A tiny voice, childish but clear, rose from the six-inch girl. "Ta - da," she declared. Sekhmet stared. Bat Bat placed her hands on her hips, chest puffed out proudly. "Master," she said. "Bat Bat strong." The system chimed instantly, cold and unbothered by Sekhmet’s existential shock. [Ding! Summon Evolution Detected. Name: Bat Bat Race: Blood Bat (Evolved) Chaos Rank: 1 Overall Battle Power: 10,000 Skills: – Claw – Bite – Sound Attack – Transformation (Human Form) Note: Human form is optional. Mind maturity remains juvenile.] Sekhmet’s mouth opened slightly. Then closed. Then opened again, because his brain was still catching up. He spoke inside his mind first, because that felt safer than talking out loud in case reality broke. "System," he asked carefully, "was Bat Bat always female." The system answered. [System: Yes. Bat Bat remains in an early growth stage. Biological markers were subtle and easily overlooked. All Host’s currently summoned bats are female.] Sekhmet’s eyes narrowed. "All of them," he repeated internally, disturbed. "Why?" The system gave a blunt explanation. [Ding! Female bats display higher adaptability to blood-based evolution paths. Higher compatibility with Blood Summon growth mechanics.] Sekhmet slowly exhaled. Then he asked the next question, still inside his mind. "Will she stay... six inches forever." The system answered. [Bat Bat will grow larger as she becomes stronger or achieves mental realization milestones. Human form size is influenced by self-image, chaos energy, and maturity. Current mental knowledge: 10%.] Sekhmet’s eyebrow twitched. "Mental knowledge," he repeated. "What is she, a homework project?" He asked again. "Is there a way to make her grow faster in human form?" The system responded. [System: Yes. Teach Bat Bat knowledge, behavior, and social understanding. When mental knowledge reaches 100%, Bat Bat can match the Host’s apparent age in human form.] [Current mental knowledge: 10%.] Sekhmet slowly looked away from the system conversation and focused on reality again. Bat Bat was still standing proudly on the bed, six inches tall, wings tucked, looking like a tiny queen who had conquered the blanket kingdom. She looked at Sekhmet expectantly. "Master," she said again. "Look." Sekhmet’s voice came out cautious. "I am looking," he said. Bat Bat nodded, satisfied, then turned slightly to show off her wings. She flapped them once. Flap. The flap was strong enough to stir the air in the room. Auri’s eyes followed the movement, alert. Sekhmet’s throat tightened. He could not stop the question that escaped him. "You... can transform," Sekhmet said. Bat Bat smiled brightly. "Yes," she said. "I wanted to." Sekhmet’s eyes narrowed. "Why," he asked. Bat Bat pointed toward Auri with dramatic accusation. "Because bat people," Bat Bat said. "She big. She is pretty. She talks. Bat Bat want." Sekhmet’s face remained blank. His mind, however, was spinning. "So she saw Auri and decided she wanted to be... that." Bat Bat leaned closer, eyes sparkling. "Master," she said, voice suddenly soft and pleading. "Praise." Sekhmet stared. "Praise," he repeated. Bat Bat nodded fast. "Praise," she insisted. Sekhmet exhaled slowly. He did not know how to praise a bat that had just turned into a six-inch girl. So he chose honesty. "You look... unexpected," he said. Bat Bat’s eyes narrowed. "That is not praise," Bat Bat complained. Sekhmet rubbed his forehead. Auri stood silently, watching the exchange like it was a court drama she did not understand but refused to interrupt. The six rare bats remained still, like statues. Sekhmet finally asked the obvious question. "How did you transform," he said. Bat Bat puffed her cheeks. "I just wanted," she said. "Then I did." Sekhmet stared. "That is not an explanation," he said.
