Dawn Walker Chapter 82

--- The numbers adjusted in front of his mind. Chaos Energy and Chaos Body climbed. The battle power calculation was updated. His overall battle power rose. He felt it physically, like his limbs had become lighter and stronger at the same time. The system confirmed it with blunt clarity. [Overall Battle Power: 11,500] Sekhmet leaned back in his chair slowly. A quiet laugh escaped him. Not joy. Not madness. A laugh of disbelief. "I’m really climbing," he thought. "Even in a single night." Bat Bat chose that moment to hop off the bed and stomp across the table like an angry tiny commander. "Why do you eat blood," Bat Bat demanded, voice sharp, childish. "Why not give Bat Bat." Sekhmet lifted his gaze. Bat Bat’s tiny fists —claws— were on its hips. It looked absurdly serious. Sekhmet exhaled through his nose. He had to answer without mentioning the system. He chose his words carefully. "I needed to strengthen my blood," Sekhmet said. Bat Bat blinked. "Strengthen," it repeated. Sekhmet nodded. "Summoning depends on strength," Sekhmet continued. "If I summon now without preparing, the result will be weaker." Bat Bat’s eyes narrowed suspiciously. "So you eat blood for summon," it said. "Yes," Sekhmet replied. Bat Bat stared at the jars, then stared back at Sekhmet. "You are greedy," Bat Bat accused. Sekhmet’s mouth twitched. "Correct," he admitted calmly. Bat Bat nodded once, satisfied that it had won an argument. "Okay," it said, "Now summon." Sekhmet glanced at the table full of blood jars. He had already completed the mission. He had upgraded Blood Summon. Now it was time. But before he used the god blood, he wanted to test his new level with the rare jars first. He picked out the six rare blood jars he had identified earlier — the ones with extra summon information. He placed them in a neat row. Bat Bat’s eyes gleamed. "Six," it whispered. Sekhmet nodded. "Six," he repeated. He lifted the first jar — ancient demonkin blood. He poured half into a shallow bowl, then placed his hand over it. He focused his chaos energy. He felt the system’s summoning pathway open. He spoke inwardly. "Blood Summon." The blood rose from the bowl like a living serpent, twisting upward in the air. Shhhk... shhhk... It spun into a shape — wings first, then body, then eyes. A bat formed in midair, darker red than Bat Bat, with slightly longer fangs. It dropped to the floor softly. Tap. Its eyes glowed. The system’s reading appeared faintly in his mind. [Blood Minion: Rare Bat. Overall Battle Power: 4200 Traits: Enhanced bite, sharpened claws, basic flight stability.] Sekhmet’s eyes narrowed, impressed. "Over four thousand from one summon," he thought. "That would have been impossible at level one." Bat Bat stared at the new bat like it was meeting a distant cousin. "Bat," it whispered. The summoned bat tilted its head, then bowed slightly toward Sekhmet, instinctively recognizing the master. Sekhmet did not waste time. He repeated the process with the second jar — beast king blood flakes. This summon formed slower, heavier. The blood spun thicker, forming a bat with broader wings and thicker claws. It landed with a heavier tap. [Blood Minion: Rare Bat. Overall Battle Power: 4500 Traits: Stronger claws, sturdier bone structure, higher stamina.] Sekhmet’s excitement grew. He summoned from the fallen angel blood. That bat came out leaner, wings edged with faint pale lines like light scars. [Overall Battle Power: 4700. Traits: Faster flight, sharper perception, slight light resistance.] He summoned from the unknown humanoid beast blood. That bat looked unsettling — its eyes were too intelligent, its face slightly more humanoid than normal bats. [Overall Battle Power: 4800 Traits: Higher intelligence, improved obedience, better stealth.] He summoned from the abyss serpent fossil blood after infusing it with chaos energy. That bat came out with scales embedded in its wings like armor plates. [Overall Battle Power: 5200. Traits: Toughened hide, partial resistance to physical attacks.] And finally, from the dense humanoid blood he had found earlier. That bat formed with a sharp, clean shape, as if reality itself decided it should exist more neatly. [Overall Battle Power: 5000 Traits: Balanced, stable, high growth ceiling.] Six rare bats. All over four thousand. Sekhmet stared at them, breathing slowly. His room felt smaller now. Wings rustled softly. Flap... flap... They stood around him, six new blood minions, each bowing toward him instinctively. Bat Bat’s eyes were shining like a proud older sibling. "Master, build a stronger bat army," Bat Bat whispered. Sekhmet exhaled. "Not the army," he corrected. Bat Bat shook its head. "Army," it insisted. Sekhmet did not argue. Because he could see it too. A future where he did not walk alone. A future where shadows had wings. Now. Now came the real summon. He reached for the small vial on the table. The human god, blood. Three drops. Pink. Dry. Old. His fingers tightened slightly. Bat Bat leaned forward, sniffing. "Smell... very good," it whispered. Sekhmet’s throat tightened again. He thought about the three drops. If he used all three for the summon, the harpy bat might be stronger. But he also wanted to taste it. Not just curiosity. His blood instinct whispered that divine blood could strengthen him directly. Bat Bat tilted its head. "Master," it said quietly. "Taste." Sekhmet glanced at the small creature. Bat Bat’s eyes were serious now, not childish. "Blood good," it whispered. "Make the master strong. Make Bat Bat strong." Sekhmet exhaled slowly. He asked the system inwardly. "If I use all three drops for the summon, will the result be much stronger?" The system answered instantly. [Ding! Using all three drops will not significantly change the summon output at Host’s current level. Meaningful changes require higher volume: minimum threshold approx. one liter of equivalent divine blood. Recommendation: Use one drop for summon. Consume remaining drops for direct benefit.] Sekhmet’s eyes narrowed slightly. "One liter," he repeated internally, almost amused. "Who is carrying one liter of god blood around." He understood the logic though. Three drops were valuable, but they were not enough to drastically alter a summon’s birth level beyond what his upgraded Blood Summon already supported.
