Now that I didn't have my dick flopping around as I moved I went searching for a monster to turn into an actual pair of pants. I will also admit that I was more than a little miffed that my armor, drops and weapon had all been erased due to my reversion technique and wanted to vent my frustration out on a monster that probably didn't deserve it. I changed my mind about that undeserving part when the first monsters I came across was a group of three Hobgoblins mutilating an adventurers corpse, these ones DEFINITELY had it coming.-
They barely had time to react before my cestus covered fist smashed into the back of the middle ones head with a satisfying "CRUNCH!". That Hobgoblin died without even knowing how and the other two immediately turned their dull blades towards me and away from the corpse. I casually leaned back as the first blade whistled through the air where I was just at and pivoted my hips to avoid the second blade as well. I raised my right hand up to my left shoulder before dropping my stance low and swung my fist backwards into the sternum of the Hobgoblin to my right.-
The creature immediately burst into smoke as it's magic stone shattered under my strength and the shards fell to the ground. The last remaining Hobgoblin didn't waste the oppurtunity and hacked into my left shoulder with it's blade only to be unable to retrieve it as I used my flesh to grab it and hold it in place. I casually reached over with my left hand and gripped the monsters wrist.
"Reversion technique: Helheim!" I said calmly as white frost burst from under my palm and rapidly encased the monster that died in terror and suffering as it's body was fully frozen.
"CRACK!" I flexed my grip and the brittle frozen corpses wrist shattered.
'A bit slow but I suppose I'm just being picky.' I thought judging the reversion of my flames combat effectiveness.
I didn't need more than a single corpse to clothe myself and thus tore out the magic stone from the frozen body and absorbed the smoke it turned into. That was how I discovered something very interesting. The mana within the stone had also frozen, in other words my reversion had caused even pure energy like mana to freeze and stabilize.-
'Perhaps I could use this ability to "quench" my cursed items for a better end result?' I pondered the possible uses of this discovery.
Cursed energy was normally unstable and wild so discovering the stabilizing trait my reversion held I had to consider if it could be used to stabilize the cursed tools energy after I created the things thus making them more efficient. I also didn't miss the implication that this meant for combat either. Being able to freeze mana meant that in theory I could also freeze spells leveled against me though I suspected that was a tall order to learn in any short period of time.-
I chose to put that aside for now though and approached the other hobgoblin corpse and refined the hide and bones a little before tearing the magic stone from it's chest and absorbing the smoke while getting to work on the hide and bones that dropped to make some pants. The design I went with was a simple dark black leather pant with hardened spiked bone plates on the thighs and shin. I even made a zipper and button out of bone for the thing that was a nice touch if I do say so myself.-
Naturally when I put them on while getting rid of the grass speedo and they didn't fit quite right I just adjusted them on me until they fit perfectly without getting in the way of my mobility. That settled I cremated the dead adventurer and their stuff before making my way back towards the stairs leading up from this floor. I passed a few parties of adventurers on the way but besides getting some stares for my appearance no one tried anything. I honestly couldn't even blame the people for staring either as when I wasn't dressed in my gear I stood out like a sore fucking thumb.-
I was pale skinned and covered by strange black tattoos on my chest, face, arms and back. My new pants were also unusual though pretty practical. I was also very fit and not too bad on the eyes either with wild short brown hair and sharp brown eyes that seemed to see right through you(which they sorta did). I wasn't super handsome or anything but I was a little above average which was good enough so long as I was strong and not a complete asshole.-
I'm not talking prideful since it was widely accepted that pride was just something that went hand in hand with power. No I was referring to how I treated others during interactions, bullying, violence and putting others down were things that made someone unlikable and so long as I didn't act like that all the time I was golden. Every now and again or if it was for a good reason was fine though since no one was perfect but all the time just made one an unlikeable asshole.-
I wasn't an asshole though so a few amazons were giving me looks that made me uncomfortable as I passed their parties. The amazon race as a whole was very baby hungry when they found a male they thought strong. I walked away especially quickly when I came across those looks as I wanted none of that. While granted most amazonians wouldn't force me to parent the result of a one night stand I was a bit worried that any kid of mine would also have cursed energy. I had a great deal of time before I was likely to reach a strength that would keep people from trying to forcefully breed me for that trait and thus wanted to avoid impregnating anyone at the moment.-
While I finally reached the surface from the dungeon I was confronted with a very uncomfortable situation.
"Ara~? I must say I love the new look.~" a female voice said seductively and I felt a chill at it.
I looked at the source and felt goosebumps rise at who it was, Nyx.
"Hihi~ My when you look at me like that I get all bothered , you'll take responsibility for making me right?" the beautiful but ominous goddess teased with a seductive blush.
