Damian's POV
It was suppose to be a normal evening, well not so normal, anything is hardly ever normal these days.
I sat in a chair in one of my offices attached to my private suite up town to watch the screen before me. It had different images of people, places and empty rooms showing on the CCTV screen.
I was exhausted and stressed beyond words. I look forward to days I will be free to be me and have some time with my girl. The thought of Erica flashed through my mind Just as I was about picking my tablet, my phone rang.
I checked to see who it was, the caller ID showed private.
"Hello?" I said
"Hello sir, she just entered a car and they are about driving off, should we stop them?" One of my guards asked.
I sighed and I took time in answering the question as I contemplated on what do. Erica is sure a stubborn one, she may be all naive and innocent but stubborn, and she seem to have a penchant for finding herself in trouble.
"No" let them go, Just keep a close watch on them" I said
"Yes sir"
"And please keep me updated should anything out of the ordinary happen"
"Yes sir" With that I hanged up the phone, I can't believe she still went ahead with her plans. I reached for my tab and I watched as a small object on my tab move on the map.
Too many things were happening fast and I can hardly get a hold of how complex the human minds works. I worked out of the office into my bedroom holding my phone and often looking at it to know where it will stop moving.
I let out a deep sign as I sat on my bed thinking of my next line of action, my phone rang again this time it was Lucas calling.
"what's up?" I said my voice sounding tired and stressed.
"I am downstairs, do you want me to get you anything" he asked
" Yeah I'm hungry, but wait let me meet you at the restaurant downstairs" with that I hanged up the call and got up to walk out of my apartment taking the lift going downstairs.
I got to the eatery and saw that Lucas was already seated.
"Did you make an order?, I'm starving" I inquired
"Not yet, didn't know what you might want to take, You look stressed, anything out of the ordinary?" He asked
"My girl is out on date with another guy, and I can't do anything to stop her because she is angry with me for allegedly dumping her"
I said unable to hid my jealousy.
"OK? And you are jealous because you wish you were the one she was with, or that she might fall in love with the new guy?" He said looking at me teasing.
I just gave him the back off look which made him giggle.
"Is he dangerous?" He asked his tune a bit serious now.
"I don't know yet I have asked that my guys keep an eye on them" My phone suddenly beeps and saw that that the icon stopped. I zoomed in and saw that its a restaurant called 'tea and meal'
"I just got their location"
"So are you going to get her, is she even aware you bugged her phone?" He asked.
"I don't know, every step I take closer to her puts her in more danger, and technically I didn't bug her phone you did" I said teasing him, he just let out a tiny whip.
"Why don't you tell her the situations of things?"
"I can't, I think she went on this date purposely to make me jealous"
"And she did made you jealous, look at you, do you think she would do anything stupid?"
"I hope not" Just then Lucas phone rang, it was Beatrice calling.
"hello honey"
"Erica just sent an MMS to say she needs help" she said in a hurry.
"OK calm down, where is she" Lucas asked putting his phone speaker.
I will forward you the message now, where are you, I have been to your apartment?
"I'm downtown with a friend" Lucas Said.
A friend?"
"Erica needs our help remember?"
"OK, will be waiting for your call"
"Your girl is in trouble" he said.
"why am I not surprise?" I replied as we quickly rushed out of the restaurant. I followed the tracker on my phone while I called the nearest police station to mount checkpoints on all exist points.

"Car in sight" all mobile team unit be on standby, filled the air as soon as we saw the car coming.
"Target might be carrying a weapon"
"Excuse me sir"
"yes?"
"you will have to put on a bullet proof jacket, for safety precautions sir"
"Yeah thanks" as I put quickly put on the vest.
Lucas also wore his own as we all impatiently await the incoming vehicle that is now moving very slow.
"Do you think he suspect anything" Lucas asked
" I don't think so"
"Target and and his hostage on sight" I could feel my heart almost pounding its way out of my chest. Please Lord let this not turn into a James bond action scene. I silently prayed.
They were about two hundred foot away when the door suddenly opened and I saw Erica run out, with the man she was with pointing a gun and running behind her, he is holding a weapon, there was a gun shot and the whole place went in disarray.
She is heading towards the woods, "Sir stay here"
"we are the medical team Lucas quickly chipped as he brings out his first aid kits.
"that's why we need you to stay alive" The man looked at us for a moment and said "come with me and make sure you will not be the one needing medical team"
"Can I get a gun?" I asked unconsciously
"For what stitching wounds?" The officer asked.
"safety precautions?" I said
"Stay with me and you will be safe" with that we started running, we heard several gunshots we were not so sure were coming from.
After some time the whole place went silent. "What is happening" I asked the officer, he hushed me and directed my attention to the scene ahead.
Finally we found her, she was shivering and could barely stand on straight, Philip was pointing a gun to her face and within seconds two shots thundered across the woods, and echoed a millions times over or so it was in my troubled mind .
The lead bullet broke his bottom right incisor, tore through his palate, just above his upper teeth, punched through the lower bone of his eye socket, and broke through the skin just in front of his left ear.
I watched as Philip started oozing blood from his mouth and nostrils.
His gun fell from his hand as his body crashed on the floor almost simultaneously.
Suddenly there were voices everywhere.
"Someone has been shot!" A voiced echoed
"get the medical team!" Another yelled
"Hurry!" I screamed as I ran to her, she was unconscious.
"Are you alright Miss?" A police man who happened to be the shooter asked. The medical team rushed in to administer first aid to her. While they asked me to step aside.
"She is in shock!" Lucas said.
"Bring the stretcher" I watched as they placed her on stretcher and carried her out of the woods.
