Alexandra didn’t retort, but a peculiar glint flashed past her abyssal eyes as she profoundly looked at Jacob’s listless body.
She questioned impassively, "So, this ’Cursed One’ is also an Heir of a Universal Godly Scripture, huh? But why do I feel like he was...lacking? Are you sure he’s the one you were looking for?"
"Lacking, you say?" Destin Saint chuckled as if amused by Alexandra’s words and replied in a slightly stern tone, "I can assure you, Miss, if not for my preparations and all the ’tools’ I’ve prepared for you, not to mention subduing the Cursed One alive, you wouldn’t even be able to touch the Cursed One’s shadow.
"If I haven’t masked your existence with my arcane law, the Cursed One would’ve already seen you coming long before you could even get close to him. I guess from your early reaction, you might’ve had a similar experience with the Cursed One, right?" Destin Saint curiously asked as he seamlessly turned Alexandra’s question into his own inquiry.
Alexandra wore a thoughtful expression as she looked at Jacob and couldn’t help but remember that event in the Path of Legend.
At that time, she had no idea who Jacob was, but despite her advantage as an Heir of a UGS, Jacob still managed to overpower her. Not to mention, he took away her Legendary Vestige and then mysteriously sent her into the territory of the Fiend Race, where she endured a thousand years of misery and mental torture.
She vowed to hunt Jacob down after her revenge on the Fiend Race, but she wasn’t expecting Jacob to be another heir of a UGS.
If not for Destin Saint suddenly approaching her, she would still be in the dark and might’ve suffered another loss at Jacob’s hand or something far worse.
’Come to think of it. I think I’ve summoned Old Chaos in front of the Cursed One that day...and after that, this guy’s demeanor had undergone a complete change.’ Alexandra couldn’t help but think about that day more deeply and started to discover her mistakes.

Although Jacob wasn’t powerful yet and still had a long way to go before he could match Destin Saint’s proficiency when it came to the Universal Godly Scripture, that was the exact same thing that made Destin Saint more terrifying.
In the end, Alexandra was also like Jacob, a new Heir of a UGS, and if she wasn’t careful, she might end up like Jacob, especially if Destin Saint or someone like him found her a threat.
"What happened in the past doesn’t matter anymore." Alexandra didn’t want to disclose more about herself because she didn’t trust Destin Saint for a moment, and the powers he controlled were too eerie.

Destin Saint replied without a pause, "Killing an heir of UGS is not impossible, but it’s also had its risks because of the UGS. Every UGS has its own life-preserving methods; I don’t need to explain them to you. Not to mention, we are dealing with the notorious Cursed One.
"That’s why I need to make sure the Cursed One won’t come back, and not even a single trace of him remains. Although it won’t completely end the Cursed One’s reign unless the UGS related to it is destroyed, which is absolutely impossible, it can still bring the Zodiac Plains another era of peace and prosperity.
"Moreover, the Cursed One has always been a source of fear even in ancient eras and bygone eras, and this is the first time I’ve personally managed to take down one."

Destin Saint sighed with a hint of helplessness when he spoke about the last part.
Alexandra was startled when she heard it and asked, "What do you mean by it? There’s even a bigger threat than this Cursed One? Don’t tell me it’s another heir of UGS?"
Destin Saint remained silent this time, making Alexandra’s expression comical because she wasn’t expecting this at all.
