Standing by the now flooded bowl, Elicia’s mind wandered. The holy water, still as the pond from yesterday, was murkier than usual. Sharing one last glance with the boy who’d introduced himself as Custer, she waved at him as well, but quickly looked away before her mind and body both burst into flames.
