Mehul's POV
"Why are both of you sitting here?? What is wrong? What happened?? Why did you all come, all of a sudden? Where is she? Please, Rahul, tell me."
" What do I say Mehul?? What did you do at the party? "
" What did I do?"
" Oh, you want me to tell to you, what you did? Fine, I'll tell you. That girl... She took you out with her and you followed her like a lost puppy. Then you hugged her. Do you still feel something for her? How could you? I am disappointed with you. She didn't even bother to explain anything to you at that time and you forgot everything even the fact that you are married now? Did you even think how would Megha feel about all this??"
" What?? Esha came all of a sudden and said that she wanted to talk to me. I was just curious as what was she wanted to talk about after all these years. I just followed her and she explained. That's it... Why should, Megha feel bad about it? She doesn't even know anything about this."
" She does..."
" She does ??? How?? "
" I don't know, she followed you and we followed her. I tried to explain it to her that she was just a friend. But before I could complete my sentence, she said that she knows, that girl was Esha, your ex-girlfriend..."
" But, even then I did not do anything wrong. I just talked to her."
" Would it not affect you, to see your wife in the arms of her ex-boyfriend? "
" Shit !! But she just explained everything to me and she got very emotional while saying sorry for ruining my life. I even explained that I am really happy to be with my wife. She was feeling sorry and started crying so I just hugged her. "
" Ok, now go and explain this to your wife. I tried a lot, but she didn't want to talk about it. She was coming back home in a taxi. So, I had to bring her."
" Why don't you come inside?"
" No, we have an early flight to catch..."
" Bhai, please solve your issues with her, she is perfect for you. She was hurt. Please take care of her..." Priya said to me.
I nodded and hugged both of them. I also wished them a happy honeymoon. They left after that...
I came inside bhabhi was watching TV, I gave her a faint smile and went to my room to talk to her but she was not there. I check the washroom but she was not there as well.
She could be in the study, but in the study at this hour?? I went to find if she was in study but it was dark in there, she was not there.
I asked bhabhi about her and she took a deep breath and looked at me for 2 minutes and said, " Well she is your wife. You should know about her. why are you asking me??"
Oh !! She was angry, that means she knew, where she is.
" Bhabhi, please tell me where is she. It was a misunderstanding."
" Misunderstanding !! If you see your wife in arms of her ex-boyfriend. What would you think?? "
" But bhabhi, it was not like this, she... I mean Esha, wanted to explain to me what happened all those years ago and she was feeling sorry and she started crying. I just hugged her. She is nothing to me now. Not even a friend..."
" Try to understand everything from Megha's point of view, Mehul. She is your wife and you know that your relationship is not stable. In fact, it has not even practically started. Then one day you suddenly froze midway, just by looking at your ex-girlfriend and went into the sulking mode. Your wife tried to cheer you up and again you met Esha and Megha saw that she was crying and you had her in your arms. How would she react??"
" I will explain everything to her..."
" No, just leave her alone for the time being."
" I need to talk to her bhabhi, please let me, where is she?"
" She is in my room, but I will give you only 5 minutes " I nodded and went to her room.
She was on the balcony. I went near her and caught her hand and said, " Megha, it was not what you thought. I will tell you everything. You already know what happened in the past. I was shattered at that time. Today, when all of a sudden, she came in front of me and said that she wanted to talk to me. I could not refuse to talk to her as I wanted to know why she broke up with me, without a second thought. " Megha was not even looking at me. I felt bad, but at least she was listening. So, I continued...
" I followed her and she told me that her father had come to know about us. As she belonged to another community our relationship was not acceptable to her family. Her father had a heart attack and was in the hospital she could not refuse to marry the man her father selected for her. She felt bad for breaking up so abruptly and that too without any explanation. She started crying and I felt bad as she also loved her family and had to agree with her father. Just like we eventually agreed to what our parents wanted us to do. I wiped her tears and in just an emotional moment she leaned into me and cried. I just hugged her to comfort her. I swear it was nothing more than that. I have no feelings for her. I told her that it was ok, I forgave her. Megha please, believe me, that was all that happened. "
I told her everything. She kept looking somewhere else. So I placed my hand under her chin and made her look into my eyes.
" Why did you forgive her so easily, when she gave you so much pain? " She asked.
" That day, when I saw her coming our way, I was just shocked to see her after so long. I used to think that if I ever happen to meet her again I might kill her. I thought that the old wounds would open again. But surprisingly, I didn't feel anything at all. I spent the whole day in thinking why was I not feeling anything even after seeing her. I was not even angry with her. I was just curious. So, I forgave her after she told me everything. I want to start afresh and to do that I need to clean my old slate. " She nodded and smiled at that.
" Will you..." I was saying that just when I heard a loud knock on the door. We saw that bhabhi came running inside and rushed towards the washroom. She was not looking well. Megha went in after her and after a few minutes they both came out and I just asked her, " What happened to you? Are you alright?" She just nodded and started going towards her bed when she fainted. I rushed towards her and held her just in time. I picked her and laid her on the bed.
Megha looked very tense. She panicked. She was on the verge of crying. I called our family doctor. He came in 20 minutes and after the check-up, he said that we needed to take her for a few tests. I informed Bhai about it. He got tense and said that he would catch the next available flight. He also instructed me to be ready as I would be handling that deal till bhai would be here.
We took her to the hospital for the tests. Bhabhi was looking very exhausted. I was very worried about her as mom, dad and bhai were not here. Megha was with her all the time. I wanted to talk to her as well but she was tense too.
The tests were done and we all were waiting for the results. We were still in hospital as bhabhi had to take rest.
