[Rose]
I stared at the door wondering who It might be, I walked towards the door but I couldn't open it. I was so scared. What if it was him?
"Rose?" I hear Kaden'svoice, My hand immediately swung the door open. Because I was shocked he was here. Why? Why did I feel so relieved when I heard his voice through the door? Was It because he was the first person other than Carried who helped me?
Was It because I was starting to trust him?
"Did I scare you?" I shook my head opening the door all the way and holding onto it. I was surprised that he was here. I was surprised that I felt happy that he came. I couldn't really see why. Out of all the things, My nervous voice asked, "Um, Why are you here?".
That sounded rude, Oh no. I didn't wanna sound so rude. I stare at him, he seemed a bit confused.
"Uh- Just checking on you," I said, his hands fisting and unfist and I take my eyes off them. I nodded thinking what I could say But I noticed him take a step back. "Well, I guess you good. So, Good night" I nodded but I suddenly remember what he did.
He turns around walking towards the stairs But I spoke, "Do you-" he turned back. I paused. I almost forgot what I was going to say as I stared at his face. But looked away, "Did you fix the door?" he puts his hands in his pockets. "I had a man called and fix it this morning, I didn't see you at the club so, I just wanted to check in" I nodded.
He was about to leave so I just asked him whatever cam in my mind
"You want some soup?" Soup? Really? I haven't even made soup. I was eating junk for crying out loud. I slapped myself.
He didn't say anything for a minute, probably thinking and I bite my lip.
"I am good, Thanks," he said. I frowned. I felt sad, I was sad he declined. I also had to ask him if I could have the room he was talking about that night. I wonder if he really did mean it. I wanted to move from here. And I felt like I could trust him and maybe get an apartment.
Why do I trust people so quickly?
"Um- Okay," I said staring at the ground as He declined.
There was a moment of silence between us, he suddenly sighs, "I guess I'll have some soup" I looked up as he walked in and closed the door. I gave him a little smile and walked to the kitchen.
I quickly cut some veggies as he sat on the couch over his phone. It took me some time to get some toasts made to too but when someone called him, he was over the call for a long time.
I set the bowl and plate of toasts on the table in front of us.
"How are you feeling? " I take my bowl of soup and glance at him once, "I am okay." We had the soup while watching a random channel on TV.
"Hey, You- you said You had a place?" He looked at me and nodded. "I do. I can make arrangements. Have it cleaned for you" I stopped him?" Um- What's" the rent?"
"How much are you willing to give?" I blink. "Um-" I gave him the number I was paying for the current apartment. And he nodded. "You don't have to give me that much" I was confused
"You can give what you find okay, I own it. So, It fine if you give half of what you are paying now" I shook my hands. "Wait? You live there?" He chuckled.
It was cute.
"No, I live five minutes away, in another apartment. I just kept it as a back up" I made an 'oh' face understanding. "When Can I get the keys then? I'll make the initial payment tomorrow"
"You don't have to. At least for the next month. I'll have to clean for you by tomorrow. So you can come in the evening. Is that okay for you?"
"You don't have to send anyone for cleaning. I can do it myself"
"Don't worry about that. You just have to let me know if any lights don't work, I'll have em fixed" I nodded.
"Um- Just give me your info then, I can transfer money" He nodded. " Ya, I'll give it later"
We didn't talk much after that, I said a quick thank you as He was about to leave. "Call me if you need anything" I felt my heart warm up as I heard that. "Sure," I said as he left.
I didn't have much to pack, but I packed most of my stuff the next morning. My morning job, as I call It starting from today at an Antic shop. It was fifteen minutes away from me, But I walked.
I had a love for antic furniture or just small things. At a point, I wanted to own one in the future.
It was almost five and I texted Kaden that I would be by the current place by Six fifteen. I just really felt weird. I felt like I was using him. And even after reminding him twice to give me his info so I could transfer money to his account, he had not given me anything.
I decided to wait for a week. I was gonna make good money at the club since Christmas was near. People start celebrating early near here.
I could just take cash out and hand it to him.
I made my way to the apartment and kept the door lock till Kaden got here. He forced me to let the men he brought do all the shifting for me. When I walked into his apartment I did not expect the grand feeling. It was moderate but better than any other places I had ever seen.
"Thank you, so much. I'll try to search for a place-"
"You don't like it here?" I open my mouth to decline and shook my head. "NO-No. It's just. It's too big, Its your house" He laughs. "I don't stay here Rose. It's yours. So If you don't like it here, let me know. I'll get you another place"
"No, It's not that, It's just, I feel like I not paying you as much" He shook his head. "If you don't like it here just let me know."
I bite my lip as I see the men he brought take my stuff to the bedroom.
"Are you going to the club today?" I nodded. "Ya, I'll leave by seven" He stared at his phone. "I'll drop you. Come down at seven I'll wait for you"
"Oh-You don't have to" He glanced at me and his eyes shifted behind me. "You can leave now"
His tone of voice changed for a second as the men nodded, I lick my lips staring at him as he watched them leave. He stared at his phone then looked at me, "I am going there anyway, I gotta go. Call me if you need anything" I nodded.
"Thanks, Bye," I said as he nodded walking out, He did too much for me. I didn't know how I could repay him other than paying for the place.
