Jeanette wiped her tears. She sucked in a deep breath. I wanted to tell her to just forget about it then again, I wasn't helping her if I don't allow her to appease her mind.
" My parent were an average member of a pack "
I was confused " So you meant, they weren't a member of this pack?" I asked.
She shook her head " No. We were a member of a different pack. Because of the war that occurred, we had to relocate to another pack" She explained.
" Go ahead, I'm listening"
She nodded then continued" After the death of my brother, my parent went into depression. Their only son was gone and it affected them so much.
It affected them to the point that they don't even have time for me and my sister. We were left to fend for ourselves. My brother was the apple of their eyes if that is the right word. He was everything to them, we were just like a burden to them. That's what they always called us, a burden"
I felt for her. Having a parent with a favorite child is not something good at all.
" I'm sorry"
She sniffled " They don't cater for me and my sister. I was the little one but they don't care at all. All they were after was their dead son. "
" You can't blame them. That was their way of grieving " I tried saying.
" Grieving my foot. They abandoned us, Ella. They fucking didn't care about me and my sisters. We were left to fend for ourselves for crying out loud. What kind of a parent does that to their child?"
I rubbed her arm soothingly " You shouldn't think about that anymore "
" I know but thinking about it hurts a lot and I hate the feeling," She said to me sadly
They were harsh on them, I won't deny that but then again we are never perfect.
" How did they die?" I asked
She snorts lifting her lips in distaste " They were a fucking coward. They were a Coward!"
" What happened?"
" They killed themselves "
I gasped so loud feeling her pains. They allowed their pain to take control of them. This hurts differently I must say. Jeanette look me dead in the eyes.
" I regret why I ever called them my parent. They're not the kind of parents anyone will ever ask for " She sobbed " It hurts a lot thinking about all this, it hurt so much "
I hugged her so tight " I'm sorry "
She shook her head " it's not your fault " she wiped her tears with the back of her hand "I want you to know everything ".
I nodded for her to go on " What happened to your sister?"
" She was kidnapped and I never get to see her again," She said.
I felt her pain. A happy family which then later turned into a sad one.
" Have you thought of looking for your sister?"
" My relative came to pick me up and we tried all we could do to find her but all effort was gone. My heart hurts a lot Ella, I want to die too" she stared into space.
Hearing her say such things breaks my heart to pieces. This was not the Jeanette I use to know. Jeanette will never allow herself to get carried away with this sorrow she was feeling right now. My heart aches for her.
" Don't say that, please. You are still alive because you have a purpose. You have so much more to life that you need to offer"
" I don't know " She begins" I don't know what I did to deserve all this happening. I've never wronged anyone. I always mind my business but then again, the saying about being too good all the time is true after all. When you're too good, things never fall the right way for you and then you question yourself on why you continue to be good "
" Shush, don't say that ever again" I shut her up " You are meant to do great things so stop saying things you don't mean at all "
" I've heard you" She pulled away " Thanks for listening ".

She stared at my now rumbled dress " Goodness, look at how I turned your dress. I'm so sorry"
I waved my arms " It's nothing serious. Who cares by the way. It's not that bad " I said trying to straighten my dress " Zion will soon be here to get me by the way. I can't wait to get over and done with this " I said referring to the meeting we were about to have.
Jeanette chuckled " You can't wait to see him, I see"
My cheeks heat up " Oh please. I don't give a damn whether he is here or not. All I care about right now is to finally be free. I want to be free to do things without being worried about how people might feel or think."
" They will like you so stop being too dramatic. You're worried for nothing. There is nothing not likable about you. I wish you can stare at the mirror and see that for yourself. The alpha will always kiss the ground you walk on"
My heart swell hearing her say this " You mean it?"
" I'm dead serious here. You seem to always put him on his toes.
