Chapter 1
Stripper!
She is a stripper, that is what she is, she is a girl who entertains people for sexual pleasures, she entertains people with the sexual moves of her body, she is the girl who married women, mothers, and girlfriends despise because their men came to watch her strip, to watch her exposed body jiggle and dangle to the delight of the crowd.
She had a wry grin on her face as she ruffled the stray strands of hair that lay just below her forehead as she took a few shallow breaths.
Her striptease was about to begin in five minutes, and she wasn't afraid to dance almost naked in front of men who admired her.
She wasn't ashamed of what she was doing, nor was she happy with it, but she had no choice but to do it because she had no other option.
The little sum of money that she earned from her part-time job as a cashier in a grocery store was never enough to cover the cost of the medicine that her mother required.
Her mother fell into a depression as a direct result of her fathers abandoning the family when they were stranded and alone, and her brother became an addict as a direct result of their father's sudden disappearance; he had taken his bag and never returned home to his family. Because of what her father and brother did, she no longer believes that men can do even one good thing. Instead, she thinks men are weak and shy away from hard situations because of what they did.
But stripping?
She and her mother's lives had both been spared thanks to stripping. She was able to give her mother, who was battling cancer at the time, the correct prescription, and she could recall that day.
When all of a sudden, when they were watching the well-known television series, she heard a low scream slip from her mother's lips. She turned to look at her mother. When she turned around to face her mother, she found her laying on the sofa, and her mother seemed to be very close to passing away.
Her life had turned into a full circle of loneliness, and she was the only one who had to carry the many burdens that had built up.
Her brother, who never considered it prudent to check in on his family, had been absent for some time.
She could still recall strolling around the waiting room; they were the longest hours of her life since she did not know the outcome of her mother's condition.
When the doctor came out of the operating room all of a sudden, the way he looked at her indicated that something was wrong.
"What exactly is the matter, doctor, and how is she doing now?"
Cathy asked the doctor questions while she looked at him with hope, hoping for the best.
She is now receiving injections, and I also gave her some amnesia injections; together, they will help minimize her discomfort, and she will feel much better very soon.
Cathy was aware of what the doctor had said, but she also understood that his last words were falsehoods and that he had just been attempting to console her.
"Do you have any siblings that are older than you?"
Cathy nodded her head slightly in response to the doctor's statement. She was aware that he was not going to inform her at any point what was wrong with her mother since she was still a minor and she was only sixteen years old.
"I am the only member of her family."
Cathy said she hoped her falsehoods were completely honest and appropriate.
There was no chance that she would ever reveal the existence of her brother to the doctor.
"What is her name, and how are you connected to her in any way?"
The doctor inquired while making some notations in a notepad.
"Her name is Maggie Jones, and she is the woman who brought me into this world."
Cathy remarked this as she saw the doctor look at her for what seemed like an extended period as if he was examining her to see whether or not she would be able to handle the news.
I can handle the information that you have to share with me, so please do so. Cathy repeated her statement for the sixth time.
"Your mother has been diagnosed with cancer."
She is at an advanced stage of the disease, and the... Cathy's world seemed to stop for a second, and she was completely unable to comprehend a single word the doctor was saying.
All she could hear was the word "cancer," however, and nothing else. Still unable to comprehend what she was being told, she was unwilling to realize that her mother had cancer.
Now that she had more insight, she realized that the thinning hair was a sign of her underlying weakness, which was sometimes hidden under smiles and laughter.
She finally understood why her mother would often cry at strange times, even though she tried to hide it from her.
Her mother had been going through all of this by herself, keeping it a secret from everyone else.
"Oooh, mommy,"
she said to herself.
After the incident, she made many attempts to get in touch with her brother, but it seems that her brother was rather shaken after hearing the news that he had not returned home for once...
Cathy took a few deep breaths as an unexpected flash of memory occurred. She wasn't the sort of person to recall past events, but she knew that sometimes it was difficult to let go of the past.
"Lucy, the spotlight is all yours now." When Cathy overheard a voice coming from the other side of her door, she quickly put on her mask since it was against the rules for customers to view the strippers' faces. Masking their faces also provides a sense of privacy and protection for the dancers' personal lives.
Now it was time to cause a sexual person tension.
