Boy next door Chapter 69

/Amber’s pov/ "Can you tell me what hurts, Angel?" he asked as he kissed the side of my cheek with his bowed head. "It's something in my tummy," I explained. The fact that I couldn't look at his face when he knew we were going to lose the baby was out of my control because I didn't want to see his sorrow and pain. I sobbed as I buried my face in the carpet of the living room. The entire situation was my own responsibility. Should have just gone ahead and remained at his house, as he had suggested. It is possible that if I were there right now, the baby would be safe and Mike would not be in jail. Because I was present, he hit my father; if I had simply remained in the room, he would not have done this. Why couldn't I have simply followed his instructions and remained in place? "Jake! "An ambulance is needed!" Mike let out a shriek of rage. He was stroking the back of my head with gentle pressure. "Don't be concerned, everything is okay." "It's all right, Angel," he reassured me. After feeling his arm wrap around my waist, I spun around to face him again. He was lying on the bed next to me. What the hell is going on that he's still soothing me? Because if it was all my fault, why isn't he yelling and cursing at me? "Please accept my apologies," I said. The fact that I had killed our child was going to wreck everything; he wouldn't want me any longer. With his lowered head, he kissed the top of my head. "Angel, you owe no one an explanation," he murmured gently as he walked closer to my side of the room. His palm slowly stroked circles on my tummy in such a gentle manner that I didn't even realize it happening. "It's all my fault," I wailed yet again. With a violent shake of his head, he pushed himself away from me and away from the table. My heart was breaking as I said this. I was certain that he was going to abandon me quickly. He got to his feet and moved over to my father, who was attempting to get up off the floor, where he began punching him again while hurling expletives in my direction. Jake threw him to the ground and stomped on him. "Stop! Go to Amber right now!" he cried angrily at him from behind him. After returning my attention with a nod, Mike Then whispered, softly, "I'm going to pick you up, all right?" I stood there shaking my head, refusing to move. "No, no, no, "Please don't," I begged in hushed tones. Because the suffering was so terrible, I felt sick to my stomach. At one point, he appeared to be in pain himself as he fussed over me, pulling my hair away from my face, touching me lovingly, and murmuring calming words. "Where in the world has the ambulance gone?" He yelled at Jake and scolded him. "It's on its way," "Can you tell me what's wrong with her?" Jake queried as he knelt by my side, his voice full of curiosity. As Jake freaked out, I grabbed Mike's hand, because I didn't want to witness them struggle over the kid. "She's pregnant, Jake," Mike said as he kissed the inside of my cheek. "Is she expecting a child?" "P.... is she expecting a child?" Jake was stuttering a little bit. As he nodded, Mike gave me a concerned expression. "I'm going to make you pay for this, you little shit!" my father shouted from outside the house as I walked in. I clutched Mike's hand as Jake and Mike both rose to their feet; I didn't want to be on my own again, so I squeezed his hand. 'Get the f**k out before I murder you,' Jake hissed venomously. "If she loses her baby, I swear to God, you're dead," he added emphatically. In order to avoid causing any further complications, I said, "Please, Jake." “Baby? Is she planning to have a child? "The little harlot," my father said with a sneer. Mike's face was flushed with wrath as he strained to get to his feet again. At that point, I could hear sirens becoming increasingly loud. A faint smile appeared on Mike's face as his gaze was drawn to mine. "Everything is fine right now, Angel; I'm here to aid you." "Everything will be fine," he said softly. "Everything will be fine." When I looked up, I saw that my father had left and that Jake was waiting for the ambulance outside the door. I was devastated. Mike was looking at me with his beautiful blue eyes tight with worry. I looked away. I was in love with him, and I'm not sure how I'll survive when he decides to leave me and go to college, and all I have left is what could have been. Jake was escorted over by the paramedic. "Can you tell me what happened?" he inquired of Mike. "She's expecting a child. "Angel, did you take a punch to the stomach or something?" Mike inquired, his hand gripping my strongly. Nodding, afraid to move in case the pain worsened any further; I couldn't take much more at this point. "Can you tell me how far along you are in your pregnancy?" the paramedic said. "Five weeks," Mike said, his eyes pleadingly fixed on him. “OK. So let's get you to the hospital, and I'll check you out in the ambulance while you're there. "Does it hurt somewhere else, Amber?" says the doctor. The paramedic was confused. . "My hips and back are both hurting right now." I winced as he directed me to my back, where I would lie down. He smiled and nodded. "It does happen from time to time. I'm sorry, but it appears that you may be having a miscarriage," the doctor explained. I agreed with a nod of my head. The fact that I was having a miscarriage was obviously obvious to me; this was just too unbearably painful to be anything else at this point. Mike kept my hand the entire time we were driving there, not saying anything and just staring at me. On his face, there was a lot of sadness. The pain was visible on his face as he stared at me; I could see he was in a lot of suffering. He wasn't going to forgive me for anything. I was taken into a small cubicle as soon as we arrived, and a doctor was there within minutes of our arriving. The doctor explained that he would have to examine Amber and determine whether or not her cervix was open. "OK, Amber, I'm going to have to take a look and see if your cervix is open." I glanced at Mike with horror in my eyes, and I tightened my grip on his hand. "Don't worry, everything is OK. I'm right here. "It's all right," he assured me, gently caressing his free palm over the side of my face. A wave of pain ripped through me, causing new tears to fall as the doctor performed his examination. I cried out again. Mike looked at me with a heartbroken expression as he gently kissed them away. "I'm sorry, but your cervix is open, and you're miscarrying," the doctor says. We need to follow a protocol in order to get things along more quickly. "You're only five weeks old, so this is the safest and most convenient method," the doctor explained, tossing his blood-smeared gloves to the side. "Can you tell me the procedure?" Mike was the one who inquired. "It is referred to as an ERPC. It is an invasive surgical treatment. We'll have to do it under general anesthesia, and we'll erase all indications of the pregnancy," he continued, his expression slightly dejected as he looked me straight in the eyes. What is the surgical procedure? "Do you think that's safe?" Mike inquired, his grasp on my hand becoming even firmer. The doctor smiled and nodded. "It's the most secure method." We could simply wait for it to evacuate itself over the course of a week or so, but doing so would put us at greater danger of infection. "It's best for Amber if we get rid of everything as soon as possible." I smiled and nodded. I was ready for it to be over; I didn't want to be bleeding excessively for a week, especially if it was as painful as it had been the entire time. Mike glanced at me, as if he were waiting for me to make a choice. "All right," I said as I closed my eyes.
