"Very well then, you've made your decision!" He said and turned his back to walk away but kicked Asher off the floor before walking away.
I gasped at the impact of his kick on Asher because it had thrown him to the wall.
"Asher!" I screamed as I ran to meet him but the instant i got close to him, he wouldn't let me touch him as he sent me a burning glare and clenched his teeth at me.
"Asher!" I called out his name again but this time I was hurt at his behavior. I had expected him to embrace me with his arms but rather he shoved me off and stood up by himself.
I watched how he leaped away from me in pain. I hated to see him in this much pain but he wasn't going to let me help him or even touch him and it made the knot on my chest tighten even more.
I was shocked as I stood speechless in the middle of the room when other wolves in the room slowly raised their heads up and left the room.
Some were saying really bad words about me while some pitied me for making such a decision that would badly influence my life and I was suddenly scared I hadn't made the wrong choice.
I looked up the rails to see Alaric still staring down at me, his eyes were back to normal and somehow I couldn't divert my attention. Perhaps it was because I wasn't even focused on him at first but I was lost in my thoughts.
"Asher!" I called his name out again but this time it came out as a whisper and I soon found myself running after him and trying to find him when I suddenly saw him walking into a room.
I followed behind him but before I could get to the room, the door had been shut and I ran my hands through my hair in frustration.
"What have I done?" I asked myself as I tried hard to not cry because of the amount of numerous faces staring at me.
I gathered up my courage to leave where I was and sulk myself in my bed for the rest of the day.
I finally entered my room after trying to ignore the hateful words I was receiving on the way.
"Nora, what the hell did you do?" I asked myself as I slumped to the floor and tried to let out all of the tears I had been holding back in.
Why's everything suddenly worse for me ever since my birthday? I wasn't supposed to feel this much pain anymore because I was getting used to being hurt by my family but this kind of pain is a whole different type and I wasn't prepared for it.
I suddenly heard a knock on the door and in excitement I jumped to open the door thinking it was Asher and perhaps he wanted to talk to me now after calming down.
"Nora!" Ariel said in empathy as her face held different types of emotions I couldn't read, but one thing I was sure of was the fact that she wasn't happy about what happened and maybe about my decision.
She could perhaps be here to scold me or warn me to stay away from Asher again but I wasn't ready for those talks that made me really upset.
"Would you let me in please?" She asked and I contemplated it before reluctantly walking away from the door for her to enter the room.
"I was able to get Ice cream" she said and shoved the big bowl of vanilla ice cream on my face but I wasn't in the mood for a happy ice cream and she seemed to have noticed my expression as she placed the bowl on the bedside table after adjusting my books there.
She came back to the bed and sat down beside me as she held out my hand and held them tight in here while her eyes were never leaving mine.
"Lenora" she called out my name and I lifted my face to look at her.
"I know you're going through a lot right now and perhaps I haven't been really there for you and your decisions but I am sorry, perhaps my brother isn't the way he used to be anymore and I'm going to fully support you in this if that's what you want because you're my best friend" she said while I still kept quiet as I stared at her.
"I'm sorry for not being there for you, and I just want you to know that these are all temporary and at the end of the day we would all leave here in one piece and you would finally get to spend some quality time with your mate, which is the douchebag brother..." she realized what she said and let out an awkward chuckle.
"The douchebag brother my best friend somehow loves and I think it's high time I started supporting their relationship" she said and it was like that was all i've ever wanted to hear as I pulled her into a hug and her body warmed up into mine after some while.
"I tried to forget about him Ariel, I really tried to but it didn't work then he came back and all of my feelings went haywire. I still love him Ariel'' I cried into her neck but she only kept on patting my back.
Even though she wasn't saying anything, I was feeling better she was with me in this and was fully supporting me.
I heard another knock on the door as we suddenly broke from the hug and I cleaned off the tears in my eyes before standing up to see who it was.
I was praying it wouldn't be Alaric because I didn't want to be anywhere near him at the moment. I was scared of coming face to face with him and I guess the only thing I needed to do is to just ignore him, I would try to avoid meeting him or coming any close to him.
"Hey!" Asher greeted me with a calm voice the instant I opened the door and I took the time to notice that he was no longer in pain and had completely healed, it was surprising he healed this fast because the last time he was injured he didn't heal on time.
"Can I come in?" He asked and I snapped out of my thoughts when I realized I hadn't responded to him.
"Yes, sure!" I answered and he smiled before walking into the room. His face fell on Ariel and he wasn't happy to see her here, neither was Ariel but she tried to feign a smile for my sake.
"I should leave now, I have to meet him" she says referring to her mate but I knew it was all an excuse and she perhaps wouldn't go straight to him unless she was horny and wanted him.
"I'll come back for the ice cream" she chuckled and I smiled.
She shortly left the room without giving Asher a second glance but he didn't seem to be bothered about her attitude.
"Are you okay now?" I finally asked as I took in his appearance and a stench hit me. It was the same stench I felt last night and it was Tala's smell. I wasn't comfortable with smelling her around him every time but I didn't want to say anything because I was scared of offending him.
"I'm better, I healed" he said with a smile and placed his hands on my hips. I could feel the excitement running in my blood but I didn't want to give him what he wanted just yet, I wanted to know the reason why he had done all of those things he did to me in public.
"Why did you do that?" I asked and the expression on his face fell but his hands were still on my hip.
"I was upset" he answered and I raised a brow at him to continue with his explanation.
"You told the beast I was the one behind everything and I felt betrayed" he said and I knew that could have probably been the reason for his actions.
"I swear I didn't tell him"
"You don't need to deny Lenora, I'm no longer upset," he instantly replied.
"I promise you,I'm not lying" I said and he let out a deep breath before nodding his head.
"Fine, I believe you" he said and I felt a wave of happiness in me as I kissed his lips but I had forgotten about the stench so quickly that it came back to my nose and I broke the kiss.
A smile tucked at the corner of his lips before he slowly pulled me by my hips and sat on the bed making me sit on his laps and I could feel his bulge.
This was the first time we were doing something like this and I really didn't think I've been this intimate with him before now but I was really enjoying it.
"Lenora" he whispered my name with a soothing voice as he placed kisses on my neck that made me moan loudly, he was definitely going to leave a mark there.
I was feeling giddy and happy because I thought he was finally going to mark me as excitement flood me and I shifted my hair to the other side of my neck waiting for his canines to pierce them and he announces me his mate but instead he let my hair flow back around my neck with a smile on his face.
"I'm not going to mark you here Lenora, I'll do it in a better place" he said and I nodded my head in approval, I guess I was just too excited at the thought of it.
"I just want to feel you today" he said as his hands went to the back of my dress tracing the skin there and I felt goosebumps all over me.
"You look so beautiful" he added and I could feel the butterflies dancing in my stomach as I let out a soft giggle.
He connected his lips back on mine as he trailed the kisses down my neck and kept on sucking at a spot on my neck that made me moan really loud.
He removed his lips from my neck and I tried to take control, perhaps he wanted that for me.
I tried to grind my hips on his bulge but he had stopped me almost immediately.
"Lenora!" He called my name with a seducing tone.
"Hm?" I answered because I wasn't able to find my voice at the moment.
"Do you love me?" He asked.
"I so much love you Asher!" I immediately responded and I could see the hope in his eyes.
"Would you do what would be best for us?" He asked and I heaved a deep breath before nodding my head.
"Then would you apologize to the monster?" He asked and I felt ashamed as I suddenly didn't feel comfortable with him and tried to move my body from him.
"What the hell do you mean?" I asked and he tried to calm me down but I didn't think I would listen to him as I stood up from his body.
"You said you would do what's best for us Lenora!" He repeated my words but I didn't think it concerned the son of the devil.
"Not when it has to do with the beast!" I replied and he sighed.
"For us to be happy and overpower the beast, we have to dine with it!" He responded and I didn't know how to feel anymore because how could he possibly say this.
"He almost killed you Asher!" I yelled.
"But he didn't!"
"He hurt you and made me choose, I doubt he would spare me if I showed my face to him" I said.
"Who cares about you!" He blurted out.
