I looked around and saw that everyone else was also confused, while Javier was simply grinning. I stared at him and looked up at the podium again.
What did he do?
"As I said before, I love and cherish my family so much, which is why it pains me so badly that I have to do this," Carson said and all of a sudden, he reached into the inner pocket of his suit and brought something out.
It was a fucking knife!
Everyone gasped and began to murmur. I stood up immediately and I watched as Carson suddenly slit his throat.
Everyone screamed in horrow as blood flowed out of Carson's slit throat and he slowly fell to the ground.
I watched as some guards quickly ran to the stage as if they wanted to help him, but all of a sudden, they pulled out guns from their pockets and held it to their heads.
What the heck was happening??? I glanced at Javier again and he was looking at them with a wide smile on his face.
Everyone was screaming and panicking. They all stood up on their feet and began to run around.
I look sideways as something breezed past me and I saw Vikor run to the stage. Two of the guards were able to shoot themselves, but before the other two could shoot themselves, Viktor knocked the guns out of their hands.
One of the gun randomly fired two bullets in the air and everyone began to run around, panicking.
I quickly ran forward to meet Viktor on the stage. He bent down towards Secretary Carson and he I watched as he bit his wrist. I looked around to make sure that there were no security cameras watching as I knew what Viktor wanted to do.
As Viktor bit his wrist, he held it to Carson's lips so the blood could drip into his mouth.
Vampire blood had high healing property and it could heal any human injury no matter how bad it was.
"Wake up, wake up," Viktor kept saying, but Carson didn't move a bit. It was too late already, he was already dead.
"Viktor, you need to stand up before someone sees you," I said and I pulled Viktor up. I dragged Viktor down the stage and I looked around till I spotted Javier who remained sitting where he was all this while, drinking from his glass of wine and looking like the whole thing was just amusing to him.
Angry, I let go of Viktor and I began to storm towards Javier. Before I could get close to him, I suddenly began to hear loud gunshots in the air and I bent down quickly.
I looked up and saw Javier glance at me with a wide grin before suddenly gulping down the last of his wine, dropping the glass on the table and walking away.
I wanted to go after him, but bullets were being randomly fired in the air and I could get hit.
As soon as Javier walked out of the hall, the bullets stopped and I stood up straight.
"Shit!" I yelled and punched the air as I walked back to our table which was currently the only occupied table in the hall. I looked at Kara's seat and saw that she had also run away.
"Someone compelled all of them and Javier is no doubt behind all of this," I said and sat down on my seat, picking up a random glass of wine on the table and gulping it all down.
"Wait. Why would Mr. Redwood do this?" Viktor asked looking confused.
"Because he already sent us a letter that threatening us to step down for Maverick Corps," I shouted and I stood up on my feet, taking a look around at all the security cameras.
"We have to leave now, someone might be watching," I said and they stood up. We all walked out of the Hall and I looked outside to see police vehicles arriving.
I sighed and shook my head walking down to my vehicle. I swear I would loose my shit if any of those cops come to interrogate me or ask me any silly question..
Like, I had feared, I saw a cop walking towards us and I sighed internally. I faced Viktor as I had an idea about how to get rid of him.
"Looks like that cop is coming here, can you please make him leave?" I asked and Viktor looked up at the cop before nodding.
"Good evening Mr. Rivera," he said with a light smile and I nodded.
"Good evening officer, how can I help you?" I asked, returning the smile.
Before he could talk, Viktor came to stand between the both of us and he stared into the cop's eyes.
"You have asked us the necessary questions you were supposed to ask and you didn't get any useful answer," Viktor said in a soft hypnotic tone and the cop nodded slowly.
"You can leave now," Viktor added and the Cop walked away.
"I was looking for you inside the hall but I couldn't find you earlier," I heard someone say behind me and I turned around to see Zon.
He was wearing a slim flashy wine tuxedo and the black pant he wore was connected to the boots on his leg.
I remembered that I asked him to help me find the image of the woman who drugged Nathan and Viktor earlier and I walked closer to him.
"Zon, you're here," I said and Zon scoffed.
"Of course, I am," he replied, standing in a classy pose.
"I'm always invited to events like this."
"So about what I asked you to help me with the last time," I said and Zon nodded.
"Yes, yes. I got what you wanted, I have the picture of the lady who drugged your friends," Zon said and I nodded in satisfaction.
