Rose Hastington
2 months later..
I took a really deep breath and opened my eyes. I’m back in New York again. Everything about this city felt different. Recovering myself in Brighton really helped me. I feel much better now.
I walked out carrying my luggage and saw my brother already waiting for me by leaning to his car. I smiled and can’t help but feel excited.
"Luke!" His face lighted up and he walked to me. I hugged him tightly and he kissed the side of my head.
"Why do you get so skinny?" He asked.
"Shut it! Let's go see mom and dad." I said and he nodded. He drove out from the airport and made our to the restaurant, we talked about many things. He asked me if I'm okay right now and everything.
Thank God Luke never mention Max again, I'm so grateful because if he didn’t mention it because if he does, I don’t know what to answer it.
"How my girls?"
"They're fine, they're all worried about you.” Luke answered.
"I miss them so so much.”
"Go meet up with them but I don't think Sophia can though.”
"Why?" I looked at him weirdly.
"She's in Milan with her family having a vacation." Luke said and I nodded.
“I’ll contact her later." I said.
"Austin was looking for you." Luke stated and I already emailed him when I was in Brighton. I apologized for everything and I’m glad that he didn’t get mad at me. He understood my situation and let me have my refreshing day.
"I know, we already talked though.”
"Good." He said and not long after that we arrived at the restaurant. I quickly walked inside first, hugging my parents. We talked and catched up a lot of thing because I never let them visit me or I visit them. I want to be alone so bad so I told them not to visit me.
My dad was still a little mad at me about the wedding but he already got over it. He let me pick my own decisions about who I want to marry in the future so thank God for that.
Suddenly I miss Max, I still can get him out from my head. I still stuck with him. I've tried to date British guys a couple of time but it just didn’t work.
All I have in my mind was Max, Max, Max and Max.
Everytime I’m with someone, I felt guilty. I’m not even cheating or something like that. I often laughed at myself for it. Which is so stupid.
I’m going to see my girls after this, Luke gave me back my old phone so I used it to message Janet and Angel since they both in New York. I miss them and besides I need someone to talk.
"Bye mom dad, I'll see you at home." I smiled and kiss their cheeks.
"Okay bye." Mom said and Dad just smiled. I walked out with Luke and he wanted to drop me there instead of me taking the cab.
I can't wait to see my girls, it’s been a long time since I saw them.
As I arrived there, I walked in to the cafe. I saw Alex talking to Angel while Janet already sat down and played with her phone.
"Hey." I greeted them and Angel's and Janet's face lighted up, they both hugged me really tight. I smiled.
"I miss you so much." Janet said.
"Me too! But it's okay you're here now!" Angel squealed and I chuckled nodding, good to see them again. I turned to Alex and raised my eyebrows. Angel smacked his arm lightly and Alex hugged me.
"Welcome back Hastington." Alex said.
"Thanks North." I smiled.
"You can go now babe." Angel said to Alex and Alex turned to her.
"I'll pick you up later, so we can eat dinner together okay?" Alex said.
"Okay." Angel smiled and nodded.
"Love you little Angel." Alex kissed her cheek and hugged her briefly.
"Love you too my bear." Angel giggled, Alex left after that and we all sat down ordering some coffee and cakes.
"How are you? Where have you been? Why?" Janet asked a tons of questions at the same time.
"Good, I'm at Brighton in UK, I'm stressing out myself and I need a little relaxing time" I answered.
"Good to know you're okay, Sophia worried about you a lot too." I felt bad for not telling them but if I tell them.. their husbands will eventually find out.
"I'm sorry to bring this up but do you know what happen to Max for the pass 2 months?" Janet asked.
"No.. I don't care about him."
"Oh." Janet looked at Angel awkwardly.
"Just tell me what happen?"
"He.. uhmm got drunk almost everynight, he always mumbles your name everytime he was drunk and.." Angel said but suddenly she stopped.
"And what?" I asked.
"He.. he got an accident 2 weeks ago, it's bad Rose." My body froze and I looked at them disbelief.
"What happen?" My voice cracked and my heart was hurting.
"He was driving madly and it was raining, until a big truck that carried a big rounded steel slipped crashing his car. It hit his car quite hard until.." Angel stopped when she saw my eyes fill with tears.
"Until what? Continue.”
"It damaged the car badly and Max too.. We found him cover in blood and got into coma for 4 days." My breath got hitch.
"Why didn’t you guys tell me that?" I asked.
"We knew your condition from Luke.. we all agree not to tell you.”
"He's dying in this state and wh-"
"As Max got his consiousness, he told us not to tell you." My heart just got ripped again but this time hearing Max got into an accident.
"Asshole." I hissed.
"I'm sorry Rose, we really sorry." Janet said.
"I brought my car, let's go visit him if you want." Janet offered and I nodded weakly. We all walked out from the cafe and got into Janet's car.
There’s a lot of things in my mind right now. I still can’t accept the fact 100%. He supposed to have fun not got into an accident.
