It felt like a dream, I felt empty and aching everywhere. I tried to move myself hoping to stop the pain I was feeling but everything seemed hard. I wanted so badly to open my eyes and see where I was unfortunately they seemed glued and wouldn't open
"Ahh!"I tried to shift a little and when I moved my hand. I felt a sharp pain that made me his and kept my hand still. My head was spinning and when I flickered my eyes opened. I could only see blurry visions and it took blinking multiple times to finally adjust to the Bright Light of the strange room I found myself in
"Well you are awake" I heard a small female melodious voice and suddenly a nurse was standing before me. She was smiling at me which made me wonder. I was so lost to find myself in the white-painted room which smelled like medicine and a mixture of certain cleaning agents
"W...what happened here?"I managed to voice out the words but hearing myself, I sounded so restrained as if I had lost my voice at some point
"Please don't move so much Miss"the nurse rushed to stop me when I attempted to sit up unfortunately my lower part was hurting like hell. There was something different about me when I realized something. I quickly shoved the sheets off me and to my surprise. There was no big belly
"Nurse...how is the baby?"I asked while struggling to get up from the bed even if I was in agonizing pain and held the nurse's hand. The past scenes of what happened to me flashed before my eyes knowing I gave birth. I was in labor earlier, I went for a walk after that encounter with doctor Maverick. I was so lost in thoughts to realize I had been walking aimlessly and when I finally got over my anger and despair. I was almost run over by the car and that was where the pains started. The man helped me get in his car and I directed him to which hospital to take me before I passed out
"Don't worry the little one is healthy…" the nurse said with a smile and I looked at her with a blank expression. I thought I would wake up and see him
"Is...I mean...the man...did he come here?"I asked, feeling nervous all of a sudden. I didn't want to ask unfortunately I was too stupid to think he would come to see me. My value here was no more
"Not really...no one came this morning...but I'm sure they will, "the nurse said while checking the drip. She checked the catheter rather than the water in the drip and I was helpless. My heart skipped a few beats feeling a sharp pain that made me uncomfortable
"P...please Miss, the doctor said you shouldn't leave your bed"the nurse stopped me when I wanted to get used to it. I was fine. I did feel any pain
"I'm fine please what day is it?"
"It's been two days, Miss... don't worry you'll be fine, you just woke up at the right time to have your medicines," she said while preparing an injection. So it has been two days. I guess I didn't have to be here
I was eager and restless to see the little one but what good would it do me to look at her. If Victor didn't find anything suspicious then it was good
"Where is the restroom?"I asked and tried to get up while getting rid of the drip and I put my feet on the ground. The nurse stopped what she was doing and walked up to me
"Let me take you", she said and I shook my head
"I'll go on my own," I said and got up from the bed but that was painful. It was excruciating that I bit my lower lip just to keep the pain away. The nurse protested about letting me go alone but I insisted on going alone. She didn't have to help me I could do it myself
I left the room using the wall as support to keep my balance, I didn't know why I wanted to leave from here. The passageway was empty and lifeless. I guessed I was out in a VIP room but what was it when there was no one there. This made me want to laugh because for a second I thought I had a family but at the end of the day, I was back to reality. This was my reality and when I walked down the next corner, the opposite way from the restrooms. I heard giggling and I noticed it was Monica, then Kyan's voice. I was tempered to see them because I was certain they were with the baby but I just couldn't
I walked up to the door, used all my strength to peek up, through the glass above mounted to the door and I saw Victor. He was standing to the sides and I saw a glass crib. There was a baby in it. I couldn't see the face but
"She's beautiful...so cute...just like Alisa" Monica said cheerfully and I smiled and turned away from there. It seemed my mission was done here. I didn't have to stay and ruin their happiness
"Ms...do you want any help?" someone asked and it was a different doctor. I shook my head and made my way toward the elevator.

"What do you mean she isn't here!"Leo shouted as he set the shopping bag he had in his hands on the table and walked up to the nurse who was nervous as she moved away from the raging man
"S...sir...she said she...wanted to go to the restroom...and well...she isn't here nor the restrooms" the nurse stammered the words out and Leo was angry
"Where is the nurse I left here!" he yelled scaring the living daylight out of the nurse who shook her head scared that she would get strangled by the angry man
"S...she was called and asked me to stay here...I'm sure"the nurse didn't even finish explaining when Leo slammed his fist on the table startling her as tears lingered in her eyes
"You…" he was about to say but calmed his nerves and when he was about to go out of the room Victor came in
"And...where is she?" he asked scanning the room and Leo shook his head hence his eyes shifted to the nurse and she shook her head nervously
"Not sure...I asked around and they haven't seen her"Leo remarked not understanding where Vivienne would disappear too. He only stepped out to get her something to eat when she woke up but when he came back. He didn't find her but found the nurse looking around for her
"Check CCTV...she's still not well, how can she leave huh, "Victor said, sounding irritated. He instructed the doctors to keep an eye on her so she could be. She was given an overdose of anesthesia and hence had slept in for two days. He was waiting for her to wake up because they had things to talk about unfortunately his Surrogate was gambling with her health
"Show me between now and an hour ago?"Victor said to the technicians while Leo stood to the sides with his eyes glued to the screens. He was agitated and worried about Victor and with every minute which passed by his heart raced uncontrollably
"Pause," Victor said and saw the woman he wanted to see
"Leaving?"Leo muttered when she saw Vivienne leaving the building alone. How on Earth was she leaving just like that. Leo glanced at Victor and saw a different facial expression. And in no time Victor stormed out of the room and Leo followed. He didn't even reach
"Where is she?" it was Victor who asked the nurse at the reception but she was lost
"Sir...I think she...left...I saw her leave"the nurse said nervously knowing full well who he was referring to and Victor left from there and exited the building. Was this what she wanted? To leave without talking to him first. He got outside and checked the parking area. Asked a few people around, unfortunately, no one saw her. He even went as far as asking the taxi drivers waiting up but nothing. Where did she go?
