F A R A H
By the time I went back to the office, I asked precious to give him the file as I'm not ready to face him again at least after what happened. When I told her about the resignation she was surprised and angry at the same time, although I didn't tell her the whole reason for my resignation.
“Oh, Farah. I'm going to miss you” she engulfs me in a hug.
“You're a good secretary, he's going to regret letting you go, I will make sure of that” she folded her hands in a fist squinting her eyes a bit.
“I will miss you too, and don't worry he's going to find another secretary who is better than me” I wiped off the lone tear that threatens to spill from my eyes.
“We will get in touch right?” She asked breaking the hug.
“Of course we will” precious is indeed a nice friend. I didn't encounter any problem while working with her.
After packing my necessary things I bid her goodbye glancing towards his door. Just then the door creaked open revealing the boss itself. our eyes met, it was as if time has stopped we stared into each other's eye. For some moment I saw guilt in his eyes but it didn't last long when he quickly change back to his old self. who I'm I kidding he's not someone to feel guilty about what he did wrong. I quickly avert my eyes and walked away, feeling his gaze on my back.
Hailing a taxi, I went home. After taking a warm shower, I perform my Isha Namaz( night prayer). Aunt Fatima is coming back tomorrow, at least I wouldn't feel lonely. Thinking about aunt Fatima, I remembered I haven't spoken to my family in a long time, taking my phone from the nightstand, I dialed mom number.
“Assalamu Alaikum mom” I greeted after she picked up at the second ring.
“Wa Alaikum salam my daughter how are you doing” she sounds happy.
“I'm fine mom how is Yasmin,” I thought of telling Mom but after hearing her cheerful voice, I decided against it. She was so happy about this marriage, I wouldn't want to spoil her mood. I heard Yasmin squealing
“I miss you sis Farah, when are you visiting us?” she asked.
“Oh...i miss you too, don't worry soon”
After talking with my family for some time, I kind of feel relieved. At least I have my family to cheer me up. It's something to be happy about getting love and care from your family. Your parents will stand by you no matter the circumstances. My immerse prayer every day is to grant my family happiness both in the world and hereafter.
Not wanting to bother myself with today's event, I laid down on my couch closing my eyes. I don't care if he comes home or not. Farah tomorrow is going to be a good day, I assured myself.

I woke up finding the bed empty, as usual, he went to work early or maybe he didn't come back home last night. brushing off the thought, I made my way to the bathroom and did my morning routine.
Wearing a simple floral gown with a peach hijab, I made sure I took everything I needed because I'm visiting home. A surprise visit.
“Good morning my dear” I flinched at the source of the voice.
“Wow, Aunty Fatima what a surprise, I thought you're coming back today, but didn't know you're coming back this early”
“Actually I came back yesterday, there won't be moving of train today due to some maintenance issue, that's why I took yesterday train” she explained placing the scrambled egg on my plate, while I settled myself on the dinning
“Oh..i I miss your food aunt Fatima,” I said taking a bite of the scrambled egg.
“Well, I'm back now”

“Aunt Fatima, I'm going to my house and maybe I will be late,” I said taking my bag from the couch.
“Okay my regards to your mom”
“Insha Allah”
I hailed a taxi and gave him the address to my parents' house. Our house is not that far just a 40mins drive.
I know they will be surprised if they see me. I miss them. Knocking on the wooden door, I waited for someone to open the door, hearing the sweet voice of my sister shouting, made a smile out of my lips.
“Coming” The jiggling of keys could be heard and then the door was being open.
“Ta-da” I outstretched my hands
“Sis Farah!” she squealed. “Mom sis Farah is here” Yasmin was surprised by the look on her face. Mom appeared behind Yasmin, with happiness written on her face.
“Assalamu Alaikum mom” I greeted
“Wa Alaikum salam” she replied happily engulfing me in a hug.
“Did Jawad dropped you off?” she asked, her eyes roaming outside, looking for his car. Only if you knew.
“No, he has an emergency meeting so I told him I will take a taxi” I lied but its better than me telling her that her son-in-law doesn't even know I'm here.
“Why are you still standing there come inside” she ushered.
“So sis Farah, tell me how's bro-in-law, is he good to you. Why am I asking such silly question I know he's good to you” she blabbered only if you knew, he's nothing as good. We're now sitting in the living room, while mom is in the kitchen as usual.
“Yasmin, can you just keep quiet for some time, you've been bombarding me with question the moment I entered this house”
“Oh...sis I want to know” she muttered.
“Nothing to know, he's good to me okay”
Actually visiting home really made me happy, it took my mind off a lot of things. Like Jawad.

“When visiting us next time make sure you come together with Jawad” Yasmin winked at me.
“Sure” I fake a smile. I really hate to lie to them. But If lying to them will make them happy then so be it.
The moment I stepped my foot inside the house, I came face to face with the devil himself.
“Where were you? And who gave you permission to go out” he attacked me with questions. ignoring him, I walked pass him, he's not worth my explanation. What I felt next is my body being shoved on the wall, with a fury Jawad staring right into my eyes. It's becoming his habit to push me on the wall however he wants right?
“I'm asking you a question, which I need you to answer” he spat.
“Where I went to is none of your business, and I don't need your permission to go to wherever I want to” I spit back. I saw a look on his face which I couldn't decipher. I'm not going to back off.
“Don't forget you're married to me, you're my wife and you have to ask me for permission before you go out” I feel his tight hold on my arm, but that doesn't stop me from speaking my mind.
“Oh, so now I'm your wife, last time I checked you told me clearly that you don't have anything to do with this marriage” my lips form a smirk.
“The Farah you think you can order around is long gone. So you do your business and I do mine” I didn't care if Aunt heard us, it will be even better if she did.
His hold on my arm loosen which gave me the cue to leave. I didn't care about what he will do. He messes with me and I do the same. I closed the door behind me placing my hands on my beating heart I'm also surprised by my stunt but I need to show him I'm strong. I'm not the girl he thinks I am.
