Alexander gasped and wobbled on his feet, but was promptly caught by a smiling Evander.
"Brother, get a hold of yourself. You are not the only one seeing it"
he said with a laugh as Alexander took a step forward. Jake and Alex stood behind them, a teary eyed look on their faces as they saw Alexander's glee.
"Moon Goddess...Evander, brother...."
He dragged the red head into his warm embrace, holding her tight as if that closeness wasn't close enough.
"baby....I thought I lost you"
she simply smiled and shook her head, with a tender look in her eyes. Alexander suddenly took a step back, his brows furrowed, his lips set in a tight line.
"Evander, I’m sorry. You can have her now."
Evander raised a brow.
"What are you talking about?"
Even Isabella tilted her head in confusion.
"She is your mate, have you forgotten brother?"
He said, his head lowered. Evander burst out laughing.
"Err. E.no. She doesn't even know me. Thanks for offering, though, but she is all yours."
He tightened his grip on Isabella's waist and Alexander couldn't help but look at it.
"How?"
Evander turned to Sandra.
"Hi, Sandra."
"Hi, Alpha."
She replied, looking between them.
"Take care of my brother, will you?"
She nodded.
"I will."
Evander shrugged at his brother who held his mouth agape.
"But, how?"
Evander shrugged.
"I might have manipulated it, just a lil bit"
he said, putting his thumb and index fingers together, to emphasize little. Alexander hugged him, patting his back.
"Thank you, brother."
"You don’t have to worry about your own mate too." "Gosh, I completely..."
"She's standing right next to you."
"What?"
Alexander was confused. Evander shrugged and released himself from the embrace.
"Your mate is Sandra."
Alexander gasped.
"Really?"
"Really."
Evander said, feeling a little faint. Alexander glanced at Isabella, squinting a bit, before he tore his gaze away from her to his new found mate, Sandra and held her. Evander excused himself and went upstairs, to his room with Isabella, while Jake and Alec were proposing drinks to Alexander who couldn’t take his eyes and hands off a blushing Sandra.
"Evander?"
Isabella said, calmly as she closed the door behind her. She had noticed that he was looking pale and even though he tried to be happy, he didn’t quite look okay.
"Is something wrong with you?"
He smiled sadly.
"I am going to lose it soon."
He said to her, and he looked down again.
"Lose what soon?"
He lifted a pen with his small finger.
"My gift. I am going to lose it."
She gasped.
"Why?"
He shrugged and smiled again.
"That was strenuous, what I did to get Sandra to be his mate. I literally changed the course of destiny and the fate arranged by the moon Goddess. This is my punishment."
She came close and knelt in front of him, cupping his face and kissing his forehead and his face.
"You're going to be alright, right?"
He nodded.
"Yes. I have you, don't I?"
She smiled and nodded. He held her waist and brought her up to sit next to him.
"You're mine now."
She told him. He nodded, the edges of his eyes, crinkling with unspoken excitement.
"You don’t know just how true that is."
She gave him a look.
"Is there something you're not saying?"
He laughed like a small boy.
" noo....."
"Tell me, or I’ll tickle you."
He laughed.
"No way".
She tickled his sides and he burst into laughter, falling down on the bed as she climbed on him and continued to tickle.
"No, please"
he said amidst laughter, before he held her hands, and dragged her, so she was lying on him. Her eyes were wide, her hair falling on her face and his as they both breathed hard. He lifted his hand to tuck her hair behind her ear, and her breath hitched, mostly with the anxiety and close proximity.
"You're so beautiful.....yet so mischievous."
He turned her over, so she had her back on the bed, while he lay partially on the bed, propped up by his elbow.
"My cute troublemaker."
He tipped her nose and she blushed red, lowering his head.
"I'll bite you."
He stopped and stared in her bright green eyes.
"You will?"
She nodded.
"I'll bite you hard."
He seemed to think for a moment.
"Then so be it"
and it was the last thing she heard before he kissed her, entwining their fingers and holding her close."
"We shouldn't disturb them."
"But, we have to tell them before we leave.”
Jake on one side and Sandra and Alexander on the other, arguing on whether they should interrupt Evander or not. Alec, who had been standing away, simply went and knocked on the door a few times and when he didn’t get an answer, opened it. All of them trooped in, only to see Evander sleeping peacefully, hugging Isabella from the back, who was also sleeping, her hair sprawled across the pillow. Jake and Alec exchanged glances, as Isabella stirred.
"Hey..what are you guys doing here?"
Her voice was muffled, mainly because she pressed her face to the pillow after she saw them.
"We wanted to talk to Evander. I can see he's asleep."
Just then, Evander stirred.
"Bella?"
"Hm?"
"What is it?"
She simply pointed at them and kept her head back.
Evander got up, rubbing his eyes.
"Brother..what's wrong? Why are you all in my room?"
Alexander cleared his throat as Evander went into the bathroom, spraying water on his face and brushing his teeth again, as if he had just woken up in the morning, not past noon. But, he was Evander. He was clean like that. He came back to them, as he rubbed his hands off a towel.
"what's up?"
Alexander held Sandra closer.
"Well, since you found her for me, I was thinking...well, we are going home."
Evander raised a brow.
"What?"
Alexander shrugged.
"We are going home."
Evander furrowed his brows
"you don’t like it here with me?"
