~Arian Storm~
There I lay wide awake with my mate on my chest. I did it against my mind. I slept with her and thus completed part of the mate connection. A step I should never have taken. Still, it felt way too good to regret. Even if it wasn't like the sex I was usually into, it was still the best sex of my life.
For a moment I thought that what my father told me was just a lie. But I just felt it. Just because of this closeness that we shared, I already felt more powerful. She made me strong, even if she was my weak point.
I still can't let anyone harm her hair. It was too late now. I broke everything and got involved with her. When she stood in front of my room door and I knew that she wasn't wearing any underwear under her clothes, I just couldn't take it anymore. I needed her like the air I breathe.

Fuck Arian, remember she's just a simple young woman. You don't even know her, it's just that fucking mate band that keeps you together, I tried to remind myself. Who came up with this fucking mate thing anyway? Sure, the moon goddess, but why? Probably not as a gift, it's more of a curse to become so dependent on another person that you don't even get to choose.
My thoughts were driving me crazy and I was restless. My little one seemed to notice this as well, because she mumbled something half asleep.
Damned! I don't want to wake her up. She's not to blame for all this fucked up shit. She deserves another.
Just the thought of seeing her with someone else sent a loud growl through the room.
My little mate mumbled something again and I watched as she subconsciously sniffed my chest. After that she calmed down a bit. Apparently my scent calmed her down.
Somehow this Mate thing was very practical.
Still, I carefully pulled away from her, careful not to wake her. After I managed that, I pulled on a pair of pants and a plain black shirt and then left the house.
When I got outside, I first breathed in the fresh forest air. It was quiet all around me, except you could hear the nocturnal animals roaming the forest. In addition, I heard a few voices from further away, which I then ran towards.
A few huts further I saw the warm color thrown around by the campfire my friends were sitting at. They talked, laughed and drank. Except for Luan, he just sat there silently and watched everything.
Most of the pack members were probably already asleep or doing other things that fine night, like Lou and I had before. I couldn't spot my parents out here either, so I assumed they were doing it somewhere too.
Besides Luan, I could only make out Sebastian, Anna, Elvira, Alex, Zara, Felia, Jasper and Jason out here by the campfire. Anna sat on her mate's lap, snuggled up against his chest and her wide brown eyes followed intently the mouth movements of Seb, who was speaking. Zara was also sitting on her mate's lap, only she was taking a long sip from a bottle of beer. It's a wonder she was into alcohol at all. It took quite a bit of this drug to get a werewolf drunk. Jasper and Jason were joking around and Elvira and Felia seemed to be having their own conversation.
When Alex noticed me, he started bawling. "Look who's finally showing up."
Immediately the others noticed and looked in our direction.
The corner of my mouth twitched as I sat down with those monkeys.
"And how was it? Sleeping with your mate is very different than with strangers, isn't it?" Sebastian snapped.
But how did he know that?
"You smell like sex." Anna laughed too.
"Oh, be quiet." I shook my head angrily. It was a mistake that will definitely not stay the same. Because after tonight I won't be able to do without Lou anymore.
What shit I got myself into.
I couldn't let her against it, nor did I want to, but if she stays close to me, something will happen to her sooner or later.
"Uhh, so our big brother had sex," Jason trumpeted loudly while Jasper joined in.
"And was she good?"

I immediately fixed my little brothers with an angry look and growled at them. You shouldn't think of Lou like that. Yes, she was good, just how she drove me crazy by digging her nails into my back, but that's none of their shit.
My growl was so intense that the two of them immediately shrank under my gaze.
Better that way, otherwise I would probably have torn their heads off.
I slowly calmed down and this time fixed on the orange flames in front of me.
"Why didn't you ever say anything about her?" I heard my sister's soft voice this time. I wanted to snap again, like the days before, when something irritated me. But this time I stayed calm and took a deep breath to calm me down
"Because I never wanted anyone to know anything about her. She shouldn't have been here." I explained in a calm voice, but still kept my eyes on the blazing fire.
"But why?" she persisted. My buddies knew why, but my family didn't. They would have just run to my parents, but it's too late now anyway.
"I'm afraid something might happen to her."
I finally turned my gaze to her. She just gave me a sad smile and sighed loudly.
"I get you, I think everyone feels that fear when it comes to their mate, but everyone tries to get over it and still be happy, hoping nothing worse happens. But you seem to let fear guide you. Fear should not rule our lives. Bad things can always happen..."
"I get it," I interrupted her. She makes me look weak in front of the others. I'm just trying to be the strongest here and not fall for this manipulation of the moon goddess.
"I don't think you get it or you wouldn't still be sitting with us, you'd be with Lou now." The redhead suddenly snapped at me, still sitting on Alex's lap. Her green eyes just sprayed venom in him my direction. She was still mad at what I did to her friend. And somehow I could understand her too...
"You know what? lick me I think you just don't understand me. I'm just trying to be a good alpha and the pack should be my number one priority." I got up a bit pissed off and trudged back to the mansion.
