She directed her gaze to the side and noticed for the first time since they climbed the tree that it was snowing heavily now. She directed her gaze up to the tightly knitted crown of leaves and branches shielding them from the element and tears streamed down her face. She felt suddenly cold. Reaching for the front of her coat, she pulled it firmly over her exposed breast. Angel had torn both her dress and bra and they laid useless now around her waist. “Can you help me down?” she asked in a small voice.
“Is that what you want?” he asked in a levelled tone. Nadia could not tell from his voice what he was feeling and she didn’t want to look into his eyes.
“It is best I return. It is snowing now…”
“It is always snowing, Nadia…” he replied, “I asked if that is what you want.”
“Yes,” she whispered. There was about a minute of silence and then Angel straightened his spine and rose to his knees. He pulled up his pants and picked his shirt to wear. Nadia swallowed when her gaze fell on his well-defined pectorals and couldn’t resist trailing her eyes up until they meet him. His eyes were dark and his jaw was tightly clenched. Nadia need not be told he was angry. She held his gaze for a millisecond and then looked away. Her heart felt like it was going to wither. When he crouched, Nadia recalled how he brought her up and the thought of pressing her naked body against his back made her quite mortified.

Nadia did not know what he meant, but she rose to her feet with her back bent over. He reached one hand behind her legs and the other behind her back. “He saw us,” she whispered against his chest, shaking in obvious fear.
“He did,” Angel said. “But he would not be able to tell, calm down.”
Nadia started to cry. There was something in that reply that appeared mocking and she knew he would never stop seeing her as the enemy. “Calm down, Nadia,” he said again, “I will take you back…”
“No, I can go back on my own,” she said and pulled back from him, lowering her gaze she wrapped her arms around herself and started to walk away.
