The lawyer did what he does best and soon had Gabriella at home under house arrest while she awaits trial. Mrs. Finn already had Alex’s blood clean up so that Gabriella did not have to deal with it. Anthon went to stay with Gabriella to help her cope with what happened. One afternoon, Gabriella was sleeping deeply drugged by Anthon when a voice message came through from the local detective working on her case. As Anthon listens to the voice message, he knew that he is in trouble.
“Hi Miss Gabriella Finn, I have some good news, well as good as it can be under the circumstances. The semen sample we took from you the day Alex died to test it with his DNA came back negative. I believe strongly that Alex was killed while trying to save you and that you did not kill him. Come to the police station as soon as you get this message.”
Shortly after the detective hanged up the phone rang again, “one more thing, the semen matches the saliva find on you the night you were raped, it is important that you come to see me as soon as possible so that we can go over all the men your life to have them tested as I am afraid that it is someone you trust that did this to you.”
Anthon quickly deletes both messages. Anthon goes upstairs where Gabriella is sleeping. Gabriella keeps on having dreams of the day she thinks she killed Alex but only the man raping her on her bed is not Alex. Baseball cap is in her house she dreams, Baseball cap is Anthon she dreams.
Gabriella wakes up searching for her breath.
“Shhh, you are just having a nightmare,” Anthon says embracing her, wondering what he can do about his situation. ‘Perhaps drug her? Keep her sleeping like Zurier,.. dammit there is still that to deal with,’ Anthon thinks about how his evil caught up with him.
An idea pops up in Gabriella’s head, ‘if I know how Anthon’s penis feels inside of me, if Anthon is big like Baseball cap then surely, he is the culprit, one of the men that raped me.’
‘I wonder if Baseball cap is not perhaps the one that was in my house? No, how would that be possible? My identity has not been revealed,’ Gabriella tries to make sense of her world.
Gabriella draws the courage together, “make love to me.”
“You are in no condition, it is too soon,” Anthon says hardly believing his ears. Anthon wonders how it would be if she is willing.
“Help me forget,” she begs Anthon, reaching for his shirt and pulling him into her.
Anthon starts to kiss her deeply as he eagerly traces his hand on her bare upper leg and slipping it under her nightgown. It does not take him long to be fully erected. Anthon takes off her nightgown and stands up to take off his own clothing. Gabriella reaches inside the drawer of her dressing table and takes out her Glock 42 gun. She thinks about how she always used to believe that it looks like a toy gun but now in her hand, much heavier than a toy gun she rubs her index finger over the short barrel. Gabriella clocks its backward with her one hand, knowing it is loaded. She always kept it loaded so that she can be ready in case of a break-in.
‘If only I had it with me that night I was raped,’ Gabriella thinks.
Gabriella lifts the gun to her temple, and it is at that moment that Anthon steps into the room.
Seeing her holding the gun to her head he wished he took a little bit longer to get out of the shower. ‘How convenient it would be if she kills herself,’ Anthon thinks.
“No one will hold it against you if you kill yourself,” Anthon encourage her to pull the trigger.
Gabriella looks at Anthon, “I know who you are.” With her last words, she looks back at herself in the mirror, at the two angels from the corner of her eyes. ‘This life has never been worth it, one shit show after the other, Gabriella thinks to herself before pulling the trigger.
