THIRTY SEVEN
Vincent asked the guards to look everywhere for Laura immediately while everyone sat down at the living room waiting for a positive response.
The maid who had saw Laura walked into one of the maids room approached Brenda.
“Ma’am” She bowed
“yes”
“It’s about Miss Laura” She said, and unfortunately Vincent heard her.
“Where is my wife” he yelled at her, and she trembled in fear
“She is in one of the maids room” She stuttered as she struggled to gather words together.
“Is that all you couldn’t say?” Brenda hissed, and went straight to the maids room.
Everyone followed instantly but to their surprise immediately they open the door it was Laura sleeping peacefully like a baby.
“Seriously,Vincent” Adam hissed and walked away.
“I’m so tired already” Brenda mentioned, and walked away.
Vincent was left in the room with Laura and the maid who immediately seized the opportunity and ran off from the scene to avoid the kings rage. Vincent stood at a spot and watched Laura sleeping closer.
“But why is she sleeping in the maids room instead of theirs?” He thoughts, and just then Laura made a movement and groaned holding her tummy.
“Laura” He called, and motioned towards her.
“Ummm” She yawned, as she turned uncomfortably on the bed till her eye flung wide open to meet Vincent by her side.
“Vincent” She sat up and he helped her with the pillow.
“Are you okay?” He asked.
“No, what are you doing here all by yourself? you should be resting” She said, but Vincent didn’t pay attention to all that but her
“I’m fine now and you don’t look like you are. Why are you sleeping here all by yourself and you used your power again!” He reckoned
“I’m sorry, that made me weak but it hurt more to see you with the wrong people and Cora made me realize it’s more dangerous to leave you with those people” She replied
“You met with Cora?” He asked.
“I’m sorry” she apologized again.Vincent looked shock but more concerned about her health and baby
“Let talk about this later but first I need to get you out of here. it’s making me feel uncomfortable” He said, and Laura nodded.
He helped her out of the maids room straight to the living room where Adam and Victoria were seated.
“What’s wrong?” Adam asked.
“She used her power again obviously and hurts the baby” Vincent said, but meanwhile they were so busy talking that they didn’t realize Victoria glares at the baby and the baby kicked Laura giving her a sharp pain.
Her facial expressions changed and she looked away from her to Vincent.
“Can I just go to my room?” She asked
“Why?” Vincent asked
“Nothing” She replied
“Actually, Victoria is here because I’ve discussed things with her and she agreed to wipe off the curse with the normal ritual” Adam announced.
“Really?” Vincent face elated and held Laura hands happily.
“yes” Victoria added.
“We can finally be together forever, baby” Vincent said to Laura and kissed her hands
Laura wasn’t up sure about everything but she trust Vincent so much and she is quite sure he wouldn’t let anyone hurts her no matter what
“Am I doing with the baby inside me?” she asked
“Actually we never thought of that but I will asks them to look into it for you” Victoria replied and she flashed her a smile.
“I will look into it and get back to Vincent. You will definitely be free very soon.” Adam added, and she nodded.
Laura’s POV
I’m quite relieved to know the queen mother doesn’t know anything yet and what happened to Jessica probably that’s a sign that I’m going to be free soon.
Vincent helped me back to the room and I sat down on the bed gently, my tummy is starting to form a baby bump and likewise the pain is doubling.
“Why did you hurt her even after you told me to be kind to her since she had few days left on earth?” Vincent asked, and I sighed deeply.
“I couldn’t endure the pain because it was too much and unbearable” I replied.
“is she going to be fine?” he asked.
“Of course, I will pay her a visit tomorrow but hold on you ain’t saying anything about Cora. Lorenzo is missing and so is Tracy” I said.
“So what? I don’t want to have anything to do with that pack in the first place” He shrugged.
“Lorenzo is the key to know who killed my father. if he comes out to confess then probably I can bring peace to my farther land again and things can be as good as before” I tried to convince him but he wasn’t buying it.
He walked close to me and held my hands while I just seat down hoping he would be considerate about what I had just said.
“You don’t have to worry too much about those ingrate. We should focus now on making sure you have a safe delivery and we don’t lose the full moon war either” He stated, and I sighed again sadly.
“Comm’n don’t even give me that look” He leaned down and kissed my directly on my lips.
I closed my eye for a while and for a second it was just me,him and our baby nobody else.
He pulled away and I wrapped my hands round his neck and brought his face back to mine pushing my tongue into his mouth and we kissed passionately with our lips moving.
I wanted more that just a kiss but it just not the right time for that because Vincent and Adam are going to the warriors lounge to train with them as the war is fast approaching and every pack has started picking side.
I was left alone in my room after Vincent who was supposed to be resting walked to meet the warriors looking more energetic and also happy to know we will be free at last.
