Affinity: Chaos Chapter 1879

Chapter 1879: Leaving The Magical Beast Forest Magical Beast’s Forest, deep in the Inner Court. Grey found a safe cave to recuperate with Void and the Bunny Leader. He had no idea he was noticed by the Necromancers, and even if he did, he did not have anything to worry about. The cave he was using to hide is almost impossible to locate and any signs of his aura was hidden well with the aid of an array formation. With his current strength, he was confident that even a Peak Sovereign would not be able to sense this array if they were standing five meters close to it. Looking at his condition he could not help but grit his teeth in annoyance. He did not expect that he would return in such a condition. After escaping from the Old man the last time, he did his best to hide his whereabouts for the rest of his time. On his way to the portal, he was blocked by a man who looked to be in his thirties. The man did not look anything special, but the second Grey got close, he felt the threat of an unimaginable danger, using all his means to escape. Apparently, the man knew of the existence of an outer world and is quite curious to travel there. The power displayed by this man was greater than that of the Old man he faced while he was still with Cormac. The man turned out to be the Faction Leader of the Twilight Faction. Learning the man’s identity, Grey knew he would have to use everything at his disposal if he wanted to win. Void and the Bunny Leader surprised the Twilight Faction Leader, giving Grey the opportunity to use a six colored fusion orb. Although the Twilight Faction Leader was able to resolve the attack, Grey took the opportunity to escape, pushing his space element to the limit. Before the Twilight Faction Leader could close the gap, he was already at the portal, and without a second thought, he jumped straight in, appearing in the condition he did. Three days went by in a flash. Grey, who was currently in a meditative state, opened his eyes to look at Void and the Bunny Leader who just woke up. Grey studied their condition before nodding his head, “Alright, we better get going.” He knew there were Necromancers here, this was the Magical Beast’s Forest, so if his guess is correct, they were hiding here. As long as he could meet with Sir Astarot, they would be able to come here and wipe them out. Of course, there is also the possibility of the Magical Beast’s working with the Necromancers and Gnomes, after all, he has been in this secret world for about a year or so, so he did not know if could still trust the Dragons. A year is long enough for things to change. ‘Dragons are usually noble and trustworthy.’ He thought to himself while in a dilemma. As much as he wanted to trust Sir Astarot, he believed if the safety and existence of his Clan was on the line, there might be a chance for him to betray them. “There’s a lot of activity around this place. Why did you pick such a place for us to recover?” Void asked while Grey was deep in thoughts. “I think we caught some attention when he passed through.” Grey replied, he had noticed the unusual activity outside. This was the Inner Court of the Magical Beast’s Forest, although there were countless Magical Beasts here, it’s usually odd for a lot of them to be gathered around a specific region unless it is a core area or there is something there. “Are we dealing with them?” Void asked. “There’s no time to entertain them, I can sense some Necromancers around too. If I’m not mistaken they must have also sensed our presence. It’s best to stay away from sight.” Grey replied calmly. He did not want to take the risk of being surrounded. He was still recovering from being hunted down during the last few months in the secret world he just came out from. The Bunny Leader sent out some Bunnies to scout their area before they set out. With the Bunnies acting as scouts and their excellent concealment abilities, they left this region in a very short time. It took about a day or so for Grey to finally recognize what part of the Inner Court he was located in. “How can it be them?” He almost cursed out. He was currently hiding in the canopies of some trees as he stared at the swamp ahead of him with a dark gaze. This swamp was still fresh in his mind, it was the place he met the Toad Clan Leader who wanted to eat him. At the thought of accidentally meeting the Toad Clan Leader alone, he could not help but feel frustrated. When he entered the secret world, he was sure they did not enter through the Toad Clan’s territory, so why did he arrive there? He did not have the time to think of this at the moment, ensuring he was not seen here was his main objective. Luckily for him, his space element could almost hide his entire existence, and he was confident that he was far enough to hide his presence from even the Toad Clan Leader. A few days went by in a flash. The Magical Beast’s Forest. Grey’s figure was blitzing through the forest when he noticed some people fighting with a Magical Beast. Heaving a sigh of relief, he rushed in their direction. Being able to vaguely sense Necromancers made it easy for him to know if these people were enemies or not. A group of eight were fighting against a large Bear. The Bear was only a Rank Seven Magical Beast, but these people were no stronger, the strongest being only a Fifth stage Venerable, when the Bear is as strong as a Seventh or even Eighth stage Venerable. Even with their superior numbers, they were finding it hard to fight against the Bear. The Bear was very brutal, attacking with the aim of ripping them apart. “Don’t leave the formation!” “Attack from the right, don’t let it land with its front legs.” A middle aged man was giving orders as they fought the Bear. The man was the Fifth stage Sovereign in the group, seeing that they were in dire straits, he tried to make sure these people did not give up while he was the main focus of attack. He was already bleeding with a large claw mark on his left arm, even his stomach had been punctured by the Bear’s sharp blade-like claws. Of the eight, other than the middle-aged man who was a Fifth stage Sovereign, there were two other Sovereigns among them, but in the Second and Third stage respectively. The rest of the people in the group were Sages. While still engaged with the Bear, Grey suddenly appeared. Due to his speed, they did not sense him until he was already standing above them. Looking down, he tried to see if he could recognize the insignia of these people’s clothing. He noticed they wore matching robes with the same insignia which signified that they were from the same Force, searching his memory, he gave up after he could not recognize them. He did not bother and just stopped the Bear from launching any other attacks. The Bear struggled but it could not move. The group fighting with it could not believe their eyes and all hurriedly retreated to see what was happening. They looked up and saw Grey suspended in the air with one finger pointed at the Bear. A beam of light shot out from his finger and pierced through the head of the Bear, killing it in an instant. The group of eight gulped down their saliva as they watched Grey’s display of power. Fear gripped them, but the man in the Fifth stage of the Sovereign Plane stepped forward. “Thank you for your help, Young Lord.” Bowing, he thanked Grey for his help. He knew that Grey was someone very powerful, from how easy it was for him to kill the Bear, he knew that if he fought against him, he would not last a single round. Grey nodded before waving his hand, “Can I ask you some questions?” The man tensed up, but he nodded in the end, it was not like he could refuse to answer some questions asked by someone who just saved their lives. Grey asked them about what was happening in the Aurora Continent during the year or so that he has been gone. He was sure that the Gnomes would have already started their attacks, so he wanted to know what had happened and where he needed to visit first before anything else. The man heard a sigh when he heard this and started to tell him all he knew.
