What the hell?!
"No you can't stay here! Go home. I will come after exams." What is he thinking?? How can he stay here with me in my maternal house? My room is small and cannot fit both of us and moreover the neighbours will see and gossip and spread stupid rumours.
"Nope. My dear love I am going to stay here with you. Where ever you go I will follow. Where my wife stays, there I will stay. You know I can't sleep without seeing my wife in front of me.!" He whispered making my eyes to wide as saucepans.
God knows where his so called dialogues were there, when I was alone and he was enjoying his time with Artika.
I took my luggage inside and closed the door fast so that he may not enter. I waited for 30 min thinking he will leave after ringing the bell for a few times.I peeked through the window beside the door.I was so shocked to find him standing at the door post eating an apple casually. He is such a stubborn husband!
" Ashutosh leave and go home. It's getting dark. Mom and Dad would be waiting for you." I said from the window.
" Oh dear! When you are here, where else my home will be??" I rolled my eyes to such a cheesy dialogue. and controlled not to blush.
"And moreover, mom and dad are having a nice time with Artika. They aren't waiting for me. I want to be with you Wifey. Open the door now!"
Defeated, I opened the door. "Are going to adjust here? I am going to stay here for 3 weeks Ashu. This house doesn't have all the facilities you are used to and is not spacious. Please understand and go. No need to show so much care. I can manage myself."
" Of course dear, you can manage. And I can too. it's not about deal. Moreover when I was a kid. My parents were still struggling doctors. Even we stayed in a small house. We never forgot our beginning and I can sleep anywhere. You don't worry about me. You just concentrate on your preparation. I am not showing care, I really do care for you. I can make out something is off. Tell me what's the problem? Did I hurt you unknowingly? "
My eyes just welled up with tears of joy. I was rather mesmerised by his words. I didn't speak anything and just a made a way for him to enter.
The whole evening I've seen a different Ashutosh who was so down to earth. I wantedly gave him bitter coffee but he just drank it without complaining and kept smiling like a fool. I wanted him to get angry on me and leave the house. I put extra Mirchi powder in his bowl of curry. He started coughing and his whole face became red. I thought atleast now he will leave. He ran leaving his plate. I thought he left. But No! He went to the kitchen and ate a mouthful of sugar and came back. Rest of the dinner he just had curd. I felt bad and guilty but still he was smiling and talking to the whole family.
At night I studied till late night and he was sitting just beside me guiding me and explaining every single thing. I just couldn't contain within myself if what all he did for me. I know they are little things but doing such little things for me and my happiness. No one has ever done that for me. I just hugged him all of a sudden and closed my eyes tight. I don't know what he will think of me, but I think I am falling in love with him.
Ashutosh:
I was busy explaining Rudrani when suddenly she took me off guard by hugging me tightly all of a sudden. It was such a warm feeling having some one you love in your arms! I think coming to her maternal house has done is some good atleast. I hugged her back and ran my hands through her long black hairs and was just calm.
"Sweetheart, Are you Okay? What happened?" I asked. She just shook her head No and snuggled more into my chest. We were like that for some wonderful minutes. Those minutes held the most precious memories of my life.
She pulled away with a blush. "I will make the bed for you. You must get up early in the morning. Your College is far from here." Saying this she stood up.
"Okay, You too sleep now. it's getting late. you sleep on the bed. you just recovered from fever. I don't want you to fall sick again." I said.
"Okay. but we both can share the bed. It's not that small too. I too don't want my husband to catch cold by sleeping on the floor." She said looking away.
That one word "husband" made me sure she has accepted me as her husband now. I feel am the most luckiest person now!
We both slept on the same bed. She dozed off immediately. I pecked her forehead and waited for sleep to take over for the night. This evening was the most eventful one I had for so long. I really loved her childish tactics. I just hope her keeps smiling like this. But I now felt there is something she is hiding. I need to find out if it has something to do with Artika. With these thoughts, I fell asleep.
