Upon hearing this, Vincent Hawthorne’s first reaction was rejection and disbelief!
"What madness are you on? Haven’t you caused enough trouble?"
Tanya Sinclair was speechless. Does this man not understand human words?
If he doesn’t understand her, then he should understand when Shaw Crawford shows up with the divorce papers.

Tanya almost laughed in anger.

Vincent stared at her with a dark face, as if he wanted to burn a hole through her.
Just as Tanya was feeling helpless, she glimpsed out of the corner of her eye, seeing the figure of Old Lady Hawthorne approaching behind Vincent.
"Grandma." She called out.
"..." Despite everything, Vincent, who had a sense of face, reluctantly loosened his grip, releasing her wrist inch by inch and sat back in his original position before the old lady arrived.
He appeared flawless, except for his gaze, which clung to Tanya desperately as if he wanted to devour her!
Tanya treated him like air, getting up to help the old lady.
"What were you two talking about?" The old lady sensed something was off between the two of them.
"Nothing much." Tanya changed the subject, "Grandma, let me check your pulse and perform acupuncture for you."
Vincent scoffed coldly from the side.
Pretending to be obedient, indeed!
Just after saying she doesn’t love him, and now she’s showing filial piety to the old lady!
Tanya focused on examining the old lady’s pulse without distraction.
Vincent sat there playing with his phone, but Tanya could clearly feel that half his attention was on her.

The two bowls of soup were placed in front of Tanya and Vincent.
The lids opened, releasing a fragrant aroma.
But Tanya was well-versed with herbs. She sniffed it and sensed something was amiss. Stirring it with a spoon to see the ingredients, she immediately caught on.
She understood why the old lady, who usually adored her great-grandchildren, hadn’t let Vincent bring their two kids over tonight.

"Drink up, Tanya." The old lady urged, "This is great for your health."
As the old lady spoke, she subtly winked at Tanya.
She knew Tanya could figure out the purpose of this herbal soup, but to the old lady, Tanya loved Vincent deeply and would naturally be willing to cooperate.
Tanya met the old lady’s earnest, expectant little eyes, then looked across at Vincent, who had already unknowingly drunk half a bowl.
She managed a smile, secretly pulling out a handkerchief. Taking advantage of the fading light, she pretended to drink while dumping the herbal mixture into the handkerchief, and discreetly spitting out what entered her mouth.
Unaware, the old lady watched them finish the soup and then deliberately yawned.
"Ah, suddenly feeling so sleepy. This old lady’s going to bed first, the guest room’s all set for you two. Sleep here tonight if you wish, or leave as you please."
With that, she and Aunt Flora quickly left, leaving them time alone.
Tanya tossed the handkerchief and got up to leave as well.
But Vincent caught up with her again.
He grabbed Tanya’s hand from behind, but then suddenly realized something.
He held her left hand, abruptly raising it under the streetlamp, revealing Tanya’s bare ring finger.
"Where’s your wedding ring?" Vincent furrowed his brows.
He remembered that except when doing experiments, Tanya never removed her wedding ring, not even while sleeping!
Tanya found it amusing that it took him this long to notice she wasn’t wearing her wedding ring.
"Oh, I thought the diamond was too small and embarrassing to wear, so I threw it away a long time ago." Tanya responded light-heartedly.
Vincent stared at her intensely, emotions surging in his eyes.
He suddenly let out a cold, sarcastic laugh.
"Heh, I guess Cindy Lynn’s assessment of you was spot on..."
Mentioning Cindy made Tanya feel like throwing up.
She looked Vincent straight in the eye and sneered, "Then I wish President Hawthorne and Secretary Lynn, both wretches, a happy second marriage."
And... second marriage?!

Vincent’s temples throbbed violently, truly provoked by her.
He pulled Tanya forcefully towards him in frustration.
"And you have the nerve to call others wretches? When you took that diamond necklace from me, didn’t you feel materialistic and cheap too? Stop trying to act high and mighty, Tanya." He sneered coldly, as merciless as ever, "You know exactly what you married me for!"
Tanya was trembling with anger, her teeth clenched as she slapped him. "Vincent Hawthorne, you’re such a bastard!"
Vincent, having taken the slap, felt a sense of satisfaction!
He really wanted to rip off her facade and trample on it.
How dare she say she doesn’t love him anymore!
"Is one diamond necklace not enough?" Vincent pulled a card from his pocket, tossing it lightly in her face, reveling in using materialism to humiliate her, "There are sixty million on this, is that enough?"

"Sixty million, huh? Not quite enough. But if you’re giving it, I’ll accept it." Tanya put the card in her bag, seriously asking Vincent, "What’s the PIN? Record a verbal statement for the gift!"
She was really cheap back then!
Due to the disparity in their family backgrounds, she didn’t want anyone to think she married into The Hawthorne Family for money.
