"Hello soulmate"
I felt my blood boil as soon as I heard that statement. Of course, I realized what was actually happening. Kayden wasn't the problem here. The demon inside him was.
"Leave Devon out of this" I said, clenching my fist.
"Fine. Catch" Kayden said and pushed her towards the broken window. Devon stumbled and almost fell. I quickly moved to her side and prevented her from falling."He didn't tell you, did he?" Kayden/the demon inside him said. Devon went rigid. She was pissed off. She's hot when she's mad.
"Theo. What. Is. He. Talking. About!" Devon said through gritted teeth.
Luke stepped out from one of the classrooms, looking very grim. His eyes widened when he saw what was happening.
"Calm down, Dev. He's-"
"Tell her, Theo. Tell her that I own you! Tell her that you're mine!" Kayden said.
I rolled my eyes, Luke met my gaze.
'Do it' I said to him through our mindlink.
Luke grimly threw his whip forward and it curled itself around Kayden who gasped.
"Y-you.... bastard!"
"Theo, you didn't answer me" Devon said.
"You don't have to worry about her. I'm yours only" I replied and her face scrunched up in confusion.
"What do you mean 'her'?"
"Watch" I said.
Luke and I illuminated Kayden. Silver light poured from Luke's open palm. While golden light shone from my palm.
Kayden screamed, trying to free himself.
Devon moved back, horrified.
"Don't worry princess, no one can hear any of this" Luke said to Devon who'd gone pale. Kayden slumped to the ground, unconscious.
Slowly, a demon stepped out of him with a scowl on her face. She was bound and couldn't move.
"Barza, I knew it was you" Luke said, smirking.
She rolled her eyes and glared at Luke.
"I was going to kill the bitch! The only thing that stopped me was the stupid pendant around her throat!" Barza growled. Devon gasped, her fingers curling around her pendant, instinctively.
"That's right! I had so many chances but you kept protecting her even when you weren't there. First, you sent her the stupid pendant! Then you asked your boy toy to guide her!"
"If I remember correctly, you tried to kill me when I was eight. Not to mention how you tried to kill me by asking Devon out on a date" I growled.
"I was asked to do it, so what?" Barza huffed.
"I banished you. Who summoned you?" I said.
She laughed maniacally.
"I won't tell you! I'll tell you what, you have everything to loose Theo. I just want you to let me be yours. An army of demons will be arriving soon, thanks to our master. He wants you dead, dear Theo. Let me help you....by making you mine"
"Who summoned you?" I asked again, my voice dangerously low.
"I'm not saying anything" she said, smirking.
"That's it. Back to Edom, you go" I said and she shrieked.
"W-wait!"
"I'm waiting" I said.
"I-I don't know his name b-but I've only met his assistant who seems to know you so well. It's almost like you two were once friends" She said and I frowned, confused.
"T-Theo...." Dev said and I turned to look at what she was looking at.
A Drax demon. One of the deadliest kind.
Barza grabbed the opportunity and freed herself from my hold. Just before she vanished from sight, she said..."See you later"
"Devon, you have to go outside right now" I said, shielding her from the monstrous demon that was making it's way towards us.
"N-no. What if you get hurt?" she said, her voice shaky.
"You don't have to worry about me" I said, steering her towards the exit. She hesitated before running down the hall.
"Drax demons, my favorite" Luke said, sarcasm dripping from his voice.
We had killed four of them with only two left.
"Gosh, they're so disgusting" Luke said with an exaggerated shudder.
One of the Drax demons pounced on him with the other one swiping it's claws at me. I swiftly, ripped it's head off and just as I was about to get rid of the one attacking Luke, an arrow flew through the air and embedded itself in the slimy skin of the demon. It sputtered and fell to the ground, fading into nothing but demon ichor.
We looked up as we heard footsteps in the direction where the arrow had come from. It was a girl, a lightbearer. She was wearing leather pants and a black hooded leather waistcoat. She had an arrow kit on; with her bow gripped firmly in her gloved hand.
Luke narrowed his eyes.
Slowly, she flipped back her hoodie. Her eyes were a light orange color. She was definitely a lightbearer. Lightbearers have eyes ranging from a light orange color to a bright gold depending on how powerful they are. Luke's eyes widened like saucers and he froze. The girl walked up to Luke who looked like he'd stopped breathing.
"My name is Amyra and I must say you're everything I dreamed of, Mate" she said and kissed him. I smirked, folding my arms.
Well, well, look who got lucky.
When they pulled apart they were both breathless.
"What's your name, hon?" She said, grinning at him.
Luke still looked winded and I was barely holding in my laughter.
"Lucian. Are you Clark Kent?" he said, his eyes still wide.
"I'll call you Luca. You have beautiful eyes too. I'll be your Clark Kent, though" she chuckled and kissed him again.
"I don't mean to interrupt but we've got a mess to clean up" I said.
Amyra smiled and with a single swipe of her hand, the floors were sparkling clean.
I turned when I heard the door open. It was Devon.
She ran into my arms and embraced me.
"Are you okay?" She asked.
"I'm great actually" I replied and she beamed at me before turning to look at Amyra. "Who's she? And why is Lucian looking like he's high on something?" She asked and I chuckled.
"That's Amyra. His mate" I said and her eyes widened.
"Oh" she said and walked up to Amyra.
"I'm Devon" she said, holding out a hand.
"Amyra. Nice to meet you, Devon" Amyra said accepting the handshake.
"I'm guessing you're hottie 2's mate" Amyra said.
"Hottie 2 is my salty bestfriend" Luke said and she grinned, kissing his cheek. "Jealous already? I can't say he's ugly. I mean look at him" Amyra said and Luke's face burned a bright pink color. We all laughed.
Devon helped Karla to her feet and she smiled weakly.
"I'm okay" she said.
"You look tough, girl. What's your name?"Amyra said
"Karla... Devon's best friend" Karla replied.
"There's a lot of bestfriends here. I like that"
I'm pretty sure she's a handful just like Luke. Why am I not surprised?
"I'm Theo" I said accepting her handshake.
"I knew there was something about you. You're royalty" Amyra said, her eyes widening.
"But don't worry, your secret's safe with me. I don't kiss and tell"
"Let's go home....we can talk better. The school is definitely not where we should be talking about supernatural stuff" Devon said. "I like this girl" Amyra said, swinging her arm around Devon's shoulder.
"I have a feeling that we're going to be such good friends" She said.
"I hope so" Devon said, smiling.
"Hey, what about me?" Karla said, pouting.
Amyra chuckled.
"The three of us, then"
Kayden groaned as he stirred on the floor and opened his eyes.
He blinked, confusion written all over his face.
"Devon? Karla? What- What's going on?" He asked.
'Can he see you guys?' Devon asked, using the mindlink.
' Nope, I don't think so'
Kayden sat up, rubbing his head. "You collapsed, Kayden" she said and his eyes widened.
"I did? My head hurts really bad" He blurted.
"You might have a concussion. You should go home" Karla said and he paled further before stumbling to his feet.
"I'll j-just go" he said and walked away.
"Poor Kayden" Luke said, amusement written all over his features.

DEVON
I stared at the flowers in the garden with my mind in turmoil. I can't believe Kayden had been possessed by a demon all along. Now that I think about it, I feel sorry for him. The sight of the demon was an ugly one. Barza or whatever she was called had looked like a naked woman except... she was covered in some sort of oily black paint. Her red eyes were devoid of pupils and her hair was a bright red color. I shuddered at the thought of her being Theo's soulmate. I felt Theo's hands on my shoulders and I was snapped out of my thoughts. He slowly massaged my shoulders and I threw my head back, letting out a sigh.
"You're so tense" he whispered and I closed my eyes. "Penny for your thoughts?" He said.
"Just thinking...." I shrugged.
"About?"
"Today. Everything that happened today"
"You're thinking about Barza aren't you?" He said.
"I can't help it, okay? I mean, she did say you're her soulmate" I said.
He didn't say anything and that only made me more tense. "I don't understand Theo. Why do you have a demon and a human as your soulmates?" I asked, turning to look at him. His golden eyes were unfathomable.
"I didn't know that she was supposed to be my soulmate until today and there's a reason why" he said and my heart jumped into my throat.
He slowly took off his shirt. My breath caught in my throat at the sight of his perfect body. Damn.
He smirked, giving me a smug look.
"Take a picture. It'll last longer" he said, still smirking. I blushed hard, avoiding his gaze.
He slowly moved his hair to the side and turned his back to me. I gasped.
On the top right corner of his back was a large tattoo of an animal with a Lion's head, the body of a goat and serpent for it's tail. It looked like it was vomiting fire.
"That's a...."
"Chimaera"
"I got it when I was five. It was branded on my skin. I remember it clear as day. I was with Luke when the first manifestation of my powers happened. I nearly killed Luke with it. It was too strong and I could barely control it. The seers understood. They told my father that I was going to have a lot of enemy because of it. At the same time, they were scared that if I went dark, I would be powerful enough to destroy everything. It was very rare in the fae kingdom to have the power to yield golden flames. Soon, I was loosing control of my powers more frequently. They started to try different things to tame me. I fell ill because of it. My father realized that taming me was killing me. It was at that point that they realized what I was. I was a light bearer, a dragon and a demon. The only creature with three different part was a chimaera. It made them brand me with the tattoo" he said and I shook my head, amused. I slowly traced the tattoo with my finger. It was.... beautiful.
"A seer gave a prophesy three months before I was born. My father told me that it was prophesied that I would have so many foes and will have unusual mates. It was also prophesied that..... whether I live or die....it all lies...." He turned to look at me. He took my hand in his, gazing into my eyes. "In your hands" he whispered.
"But- what about Barza?" I asked. "She's a false mate....Devon. She's destined to try to come in between the both of us" he said and I stared at him, dazed.
Theo's mine.
There's no way I'm letting Barza ruin Theo and I.
He's mine to keep.
I placed a hand to the side of his face and gazed into his beautiful eyes. He was so beautiful.
"I'm yours" he rasped and I couldn't resist. My lips met his in a toe curling kiss.
My fingers instinctively tangled themselves in his silky hair. He groaned, his eyes fluttering close.
I could feel the breeze ruffling our hair.
I could perceive lemons and roses. I felt so light and I would actually fly if I wanted to.
Well, what do you know?
This is simply, bliss.
