Chapter 123 – Unique Bonus Considerations
The third slot of the Dark Gazer drop was a Substitute Doll.

Well, because I needed a scout-type job to go into dungeons alone.

Of course, I don’t want to push myself too hard because if I die, there’s no way I’ll make it back.

I’ve been putting off explaining the “job world-specific mumbo jumbo” in job descriptions for a while.
I’m referring to the discussion of how much is “unbelievable” and what percentage is “almost certainly”…
In the job world, this unique expression of description is called a ���degree expression.”
It’s literally a phrase that expresses the degree of effect.
Let’s take my usurper’s unique bonus, “Can almost certainly detect and almost certainly disarm dungeon traps,” as an example.
The two words that fall under degree expressions here are “almost certainly.”
This is an expression that falls into the “chance” category of degree expressions.
When the probability of success of an action is at issue, this type of degree expression is used.
The specific wording of degree expressions is fixed.
In order of decreasing probability
・Very rarely
・Rarely
・Frequently
・Almost certainly
・Always
There are five levels of probability.
So what is the probability of each of them?
However, it seems that this cannot be generalized.
There are differences between explorers, even if they use the same wording.
It seems that even the same explorer can improve a little as his level or job rank increases.
Some explorers even claim that it depends on their physical and mental condition on that day.
However, there is a general rule of thumb that it should be about this much.
If it is “very rarely,” it is less than 10%; if it is “rarely,” it is 10-25%; if it is “frequently,” it is 30-60%; and if it is “almost certainly,” it is 80% or more.
The exception is “always,” which is 100%.
“Well, it seems to be roughly in the range that one would expect from the words.
In addition to statistical surveys by major guilds and dungeon explorers, there are also studies that collect degree expressions in each language and compare them linguistically.
In English, it’s like asking what percentage of each word is “often” and “professional.
I’ll leave these difficult questions to the experts.
According to my experience in the job world, “the effect of degree expressions is determined on a case-by-case basis, taking into account the explorer’s level, job rank, physical condition, and mentality, within the upper and lower limits that can be imagined from the word. In addition, the calculation is recalculated each time the ability is used.”
If you are a strong fighter in the face of a strong enemy, the probability will increase slightly, and if you shrink in the face of a strong enemy, the probability will decrease to the point that even the casual observer can see it.
For example, in the job world, I had a “slightly higher critical rate” before I learned the skill.

The first level, “Somewhat,” is said to raise the expression immediately below it by a range of 10% or less.

This should be close to the upper limit of what is acceptable for the “somewhat” expression.
In situations where I am fighting a strong enemy together with my friends, the effect of degree expressions generally increases even more.
From this point of view, it seems that Yuto Kurashiki is an excellent swordsman in the job world.

The degree expressions are also only the first level of “somewhat high,” the second level of “reasonably fast,” and the third level of “quite fast.”
This alone indicates a considerable strength in chanting speed and MP, which are usually the lifeblood of a magic swordsman.
It also works well with the original ability of Switching Alone.
The Usurper’s unique bonus, on the other hand, is,

・Able to detect and disarm traps in the dungeon with almost certainty.
・Ability to read the status of others to an unprecedented depth and detect status disguises with almost certainty.
・Can disguise their own status with reasonable strength.
・Slightly higher chance of getting better items from monsters
It tends to do this.

There are also a number of fourth-level expressions in the degree expressions, such as “exceptionally” and “almost certainly.”

What caused this?

Jobs in the job world do indeed have the advantage of “intuitive and integrated handling of individual skills.”
This is an advantage that seems huge to me in a skill world with too many skills.
But didn’t the skills in the skill world also have the hidden advantage of being able to grow efficiently by isolating individual skills?
There is further indirect evidence for this.
“The number of steps in the degree expression in the job world is explicitly set to five. The maximum number of skill levels in the skill world is also five.”
Unless, of course, the Mastery Book breaks the skill level cap.
Well, that’s the exception to the exception.
There is a good chance that I was the only one in the Skill World who actually did it.

There are quite a few unique bonuses in the job world that do not correspond one-to-one to skills in the skill world.
For example, “Creating a pool for an attack will increase the power of the attack by a certain amount depending on the pool time,” the original skill is not clear.
Looking at the skills missing from the list, I think Charge has probably been transformed.
The skill and job systems are two different systems, so it is not surprising that some parts of the system do not match.
Still, I think there is a tendency to take skill levels into account to some extent.
So, is there a way to “bump up” the level of expression of unique bonuses in the job world, just as skill levels are bumped up in the skill world?
