Working under the CEO Chapter 30

/HIS POV/ "Damon," She whispered, voice cracked and rough. "We have got to move; we're going to waste—" The CEO lifted his head, blinking awake. In the tenderness of the early morning and her delicately drunken state, Mia looked so beautiful – if he were the writing type Damon could have written sonnets about her. Atleast tried to. The way her loose strands framed her face, the straight line of her nose, those gorgeous plush lips. He reached up to push some of her hair behind her ear and felt his heart constrict. "You look really beautiful," He whispered, fingers lingering against the side of her face. "And you are very cheesy" She mumbled and kissed the inside of his wrist. His pulse jumped, and they stared at each other for a few long seconds before his assistant let out a sigh. Damon threaded his fingers in her hair, just watching her face afterwards; the rush of the wind outside was calming, only the sounds of the occasional hotel guest in the hallway breaking the silence. "I want to stay here with you all day," He said, tracing his thumbs over her cheekbones. Mia blinked, her eyelashes brushing his thumb. "Then we will miss the things I planned for today." He was awake more than ever. With a lazy sigh, Damon got back on his feet. They decided to explore the city. It wasn't far back to their hotel, and the roads they walked along were silent. "How much do you have planned out?" He asked on the way, and the question seemed completely genuine with zero judgment whatsoever. Damon was completely prepared to follow along with whatever she had decided on. The CEO couldn't remember the last time he had followed someone so blindly, though he'd done it so much at the beginning. That didn't turn out well for him. But then again he trusted Mia and knew that she must have something interesting in her bag. "Don't worry we've got a pretty flexible schedule planned," The assistant admitted, "There are only tentative reservations at places that I thought seemed cool that might not be available spur of the moment." "So we're..." He hesitated, "we're really free then. We're not expected anywhere, at any particular time." Mia giggled, throwing her head back. "That's the whole point," She admitted. "The freedom of it." Damon didn't say anything in response, simply glanced over at her and even though she was staring out the passenger window, she's smiling. A real, true smile. And a little more of his tension slipped away. *** They managed to wriggle their way into some unknown pathway. He reached for her hand and before he could even realize what was happening, she'd laced their fingers together, their damp palms sliding against each other. The hair on the back of his neck stood up. The CEO had never done anything like this before. "Is this okay?" He finally asked, lifting their hands. His hand was firm and warm and big, nearly completely enveloping her much smaller one. He'd known Mia had dainty little hands, of course, but he'd never realised just how much dwarf they were compared to his. She smothered a laugh. "No, it's good." The reassuring smile she gave Damon was enough to comfort any worries he had. "Good," He licked his lips. *** "Are you sure you know how to sail?" He asked doubtfully as the boat rocked on the calm waters. She smiled at him while fussing with – he didn't even know what to call all the bits at the top. "We're not going to drown or go missing, are we?" "Relax," She sighed. "It's fine." "It doesn't feel fine. It feels like we're going to drown." "I will push you in if you don't stop complaining," Mia said, sounding oddly profound, so he shut up and started on the boxed wine. It was quiet on the water, only a few fishing boats around, and he did manage to manoeuvre them around the water, so they didn't drown. They had already had a fair bit of wine by the time they reached a tiny secluded bay, the whole place silent except for the rushing of the waves against the sand. "Well," The CEO said, sitting down and wiping the sweat off his forehead, "I could do with a dip in the sea." She watched him for a moment as he started to strip, before realising that would be required of him as well; she did wait for him to get completely naked before taking off her shirt, the boat rocking dangerously as Damon dived in. She followed shortly afterwards, the crystal clear water refreshing but not cold. He swam up to her, pushing his hair out of his face as he bobbed up and down, treading water. "Good idea?" She asked grinning. "Yes. I think so." They splashed around for a while until she felt like the wine was making her tired, and spent the rest of the afternoon dozing on the boat, hands loosely linked with his. It wasn't until his stomach started growling that he realised they'd been out for hours, and the sun was beginning to dip below the horizon. "Look at it," She said quietly, her hair dried in tight ringlets, sitting staring at the horizon. "I've never seen the sky so wide before." "I feel like sitting here forever." Mia made a sound. "Not possible. We'd better get back to the hotel soon. Its lunchtime." His heart sank a little when he remembered. Oh yes. Home. It's their last day. *** After their mini-adventure in the boat, they decided to shop for essential items—Mia's words, not his. By the time they stumbled out of the shop, he had a bag filled with the coral earrings, a shot glass, a pair of ridiculously large sunglasses that she had insisted were the life of the party. Not sure what kind of parties she attended to draw that kind of statement? They turned onto a shady side street. "So," Mia started, sucking her bottom lip into her mouth. "So?" He repeated, amused and curious. "Are you hungry?" She paused in the middle of the street, jerking her head to the side. It's too dark in the shadow of the buildings to make out the blue of her eyes, but he could tell that she was looking up at him through her thick lashes. "Yes, I could eat." "Great. I just read that there's a place around here and sell the best corn dogs known to humankind. Also serves coffee with ice cream in it." Damon raised his brow. "Humankind? Really?" Mia giggled. "Yeah that's what the woman in the shop said" "Okay. Let's go then." *** It took them nearly an hour to get to the place she's talking about, but it's late enough that there's not too much of a crowd. There was a massive fountain in front of that small stall which seemed to have caught her eye. The water was still lit up, pink and yellow blending into orange, green sprouting out from the centre, and Damon sighed as they come to a stop at the edge of it, tucked his hands into his pockets and let his shoulders slump. Mia rested her head on his shoulder, watching the water leapt, and the lights change. There's a man selling corn dogs a little way down, and Mia dragged him over to the man's cart and bought them each a corn dog, then they head over to sit on the stairs beside the fountain. They had to turn around to see the fountain as they sat on the steps, but Damon twisted his body around and rested an elbow on the stair above him. The CEO tried not to think about how weird it's going to be to travelling back. He never imagined spending three days with Mia would affect him so much. He didn't react when Mia draped an elbow over his knee from the step below, didn't move when she tilted her head to rest against his side. Once he's finished his corn dog, he crumpled the wax paper into a ball and closed his fist around it, continuing to watch the fountain. From the corner of his eyes, he noticed Mia. She was licking around the corn dog, using her whole mouth. It was practically sinful—all plush soft lips that could fall wide and open and greedy. In that weaker moment, he'd imagined that beautiful mouth on his cock. As if she read his thoughts, Mia swallowed the corn dog mostly whole, and he choked on air. He turned to her, saw the calculating gleam in her eyes and knew that he'd just been played. Damon broke the silence. "Stop it." Mia pressed her lips together, watching the water turn from yellow to orange to red and then back again. "Stop what?" "You know what you are doing." She played innocent. "I don't know what you are talking about." "Sure" He rolled his eyes fondly. Mia giggled. "I don't." ***
