Wizard: Adventures in Two Worlds Chapter 75

Having returned to the Divine Domain Fragment, the four large coins obtained from Hal flew out on their own. Compared to the surprise he had felt before, Carl now faced items containing Source Material with a much calmer mood. "Eh?" Carl murmured in surprise. This was different from before. In the past, after the Source Material contained in items was absorbed, the items themselves would at most lose certain properties but would still exist. This time was different. The four large coins slowly disintegrated in mid-air; as the Source Material was absorbed, they also vanished completely. "Hmm..." Carl stroked his chin. Could it be that these things are entirely composed of Source Material? Regarding Source Material, regarding Divine Domain Fragments, there are still too many secrets unknown to me, and I can’t find an answer right now. He decided to stop thinking about it. In addition to increasing the space within the Divine Domain Fragment, the four large coins also provided him with 0.4 Source Material. Without much hesitation, Carl immediately allocated the Source Material to his Constitution. Occupation: Knight, Intermediate Wizard Apprentice He allocated it to Constitution for two reasons. Firstly, it was out of habit, as a stronger Constitution meant a greater ability to withstand risks. Secondly, with the ’Potion of Wisdom’, his Spiritual Power could still be cultivated and increased. Even if he developed a tolerance to it, progress would only slow down. Constitution was different. Without a continuous supply of high-quality Exotic Beast Meat, further improvement would be extremely difficult. After all, cultivation inherently becomes more difficult the further one progresses. Setting aside a box of unknown meatballs for the moment, Carl picked up the two new black iron plaques he had acquired. Just as I thought! They’re almost exactly as I imagined. The text engraved on them was related to the Giant Spirit Breathing Technique. One plaque detailed operational techniques for the Giant Spirit Breathing Technique, including Secret Skills. It contained more than just Secret Skills. How to conceal one’s aura, enhance endurance, unleash rapid bursts of power... all these aspects were covered. It even included how to quickly digest food! If the Giant Spirit Breathing Technique only taught how to cultivate and temper the body, then this iron plaque was a supplement, teaching the practitioner more intricate details of the breathing technique. Only when the two plaques were combined did it constitute the true Giant Spirit Breathing Technique. The final plaque depicted a Martial Art. "Guardian Ring!" Carl murmured. This Martial Art could be used with a sword or bare-handed, and was also applicable to blades, spears, other swords, and halberds, without restriction. And its Tier was extremely high! Carl’s experience was limited. But he could still tell that the ’Guardian Ring’s’ Tier was far superior to the Wind Blade Swordsmanship he had learned. It surpassed any martial art he had ever seen, including the swordsmanship of Hal, his team leader. A Legendary Martial Art? Carl’s eyes flickered. Very likely! A breathing technique that can reach Legendary status, a complementary Magic Door, and now a Legendary Martial Art... It wasn’t in vain that I took this risk. If I’d had a Legendary Martial Art earlier, why would the battle have been so arduous? Once I fully absorb the knowledge on these iron plaques, my strength will definitely increase again. Of course, this isn’t something that can be accomplished overnight. There’s no rush for now. Carl stood in front of the dressing mirror. Compared to when he had first arrived last year, the eyes of the person in the mirror held less confusion and more determination. His slightly curly black hair, a natural trait, now extended below his shoulders, and the burn scar on his left cheek was still present. The scar marred his well-defined features. It also made his originally rather handsome face somewhat fierce, so much so that ordinary people might not dare to take a second glance. His tailored trench coat and shiny leather boots, while retaining a gentlemanly demeanor, added an air of heroic bearing. These were clothes he had custom-ordered. It was said that they were slowly becoming fashionable in Sigerno City. Carl picked up a walking stick lying nearby and twirled it in his hand. The black cane was straight with an elegantly curved handle, displaying fine craftsmanship, and had an inconspicuous strip of gold thread at the joint. With a light twist, a sharp, slender sword could quickly spring out. With a deft flick of the cane, a wide-brimmed hat on a nearby rack leaped into his hand, lightly covering his black curls. The heavy pounding on the courtyard door disrupted Carl’s pleasant mood, and the man in the mirror couldn’t help but frown. By now, a crowd had gathered outside the door. This place had never been so bustling; most of the people wore expressions of indignation. Standing before the crowd were several uniformed officers. Carl undid the latch and opened the courtyard door. His gaze fell on the officer who had been pounding on it, his voice tinged with displeasure, "Don’t you see the sign on the wall? This courtyard is inhabited by a Baron." The courtyard door stood wide open with Carl standing alone in the entrance. Despite the large gaps on either side of him, an invisible pressure prevented the crowd from taking a single step forward. The officer was startled, subconsciously looking towards the wall by the door. There on the wall was a clover crest, which, according to the ranks of nobility, was indeed a Baron’s emblem. The officer’s face turned pale. He never would have imagined that a Baron lived here, in a place barely better than the slums! I’d seen the crest on the wall before, but I just thought it was decoration. I never suspected it was a noble’s emblem. Who could have guessed? And the neighbors never said anything! An officer spoke hesitantly, "Baron Carl?" "Yes." Carl nodded. "Have we met?" "We have," the officer replied, his face lighting up with pleasant surprise. "At Ham’s funeral. I was his colleague. My name is Eugene. I never imagined you lived here!"
