Shane also had some vague memories of this matter.
He remembered that it was either Ai Yi or Nien who told him that members of the Old Demon Clan Faction had once attempted to resurrect the Demon King but had failed. That was why they shifted their efforts towards creating a second Demon King and concocting the plan to fabricate the Seventh Demon.
"The Demon King cannot possibly be resurrected," Laischa said solemnly, "Her chances of resurrection have already been severed from the realm of causality by the Supreme God Ominis. Unless the Supreme God itself is willing to let go, there is no possibility of the Demon King coming back to life."
It was under these circumstances that the people from the Old Demon Clan Faction felt such despair that they recklessly pursued the creation of a new Demon King.
"They made many attempts, including collecting the Demon King's scattered magic power throughout the world, using Life Creation Magic to endow the magic power with a physical form, with the hopes that the Magic Life containing the Demon King's power would resurrect as the Demon King, or at least serve as the foundation for a new Demon King."
As she spoke, Laischa's tone grew increasingly sarcastic.
"But the possibility of the Demon King's resurrection had been cut off, and since the Demon King was defeated by the Heroic Holy Sword, her sworn enemy, the Holy Power of the Holy Sword must have thoroughly purified the Demon King's power. Even if you gather the dispersed remnants of that magic power, how could you possibly resurrect the Demon King, or create a second one?"
Laischa turned around, her back now to Shane.
"Of course, some thought that by creating an inferior copy of the Demon King to use as a tool, but the Demon King's power is the strongest force, one that even the power of the Supreme God cannot intercede with. Even if you forcibly give it form, give it a body, what good can come of it?"
Laischa's voice sounded more and more mocking.
"So, a 'failure product' was born. Although it could flexibly utilize a variety of magics, its power was far from strong, only useful for playing hide-and-seek or for some unconventional uses."
So, what would be the fate of such a failure?
It would either be abandoned.
That was all there was to it.
And Laischa had been abandoned and discarded.
"Of course, to the oldest members of the Old Demon Clan Faction, intent on resurrecting or crafting a new Demon King, such a failure was nothing. But to others, it might not be the case."
Laischa's voice began to calm.
"Like the 'Slaughterer Faction,' who are satisfied with any tool that can be used for killing, they would even consider using a failure."
Thus, Laischa was found by the 'Slaughterer Faction,' pulled from her discarded state, and reactivated. She was then thrust into the battlefield.
And it was during the large-scale assassination incident in the Royal Capital ten years ago that Laischa was first truly put to use.
But fate is always unpredictable.
Under those circumstances, Laischa encountered...
She encountered the body of the Demon King, sealed deep beneath the Royal Palace—the origin of her being.
"At that time, my mind was almost completely blank. I had no idea what to do or how to handle it. By the time I came to my senses, I had already taken the 'original body,' broken out of the Royal Palace, and betrayed the 'Slaughterer Faction.'"
Laischa said with self-mockery.
"Fortunately, they weren't my masters. Otherwise, I surely wouldn't have been able to escape."
After all, Magic Lives cannot betray their masters.
This is a characteristic etched deep in their instinct, just as humans need to eat, and will starve if they abstain. The moment a Magic Life is created, the instincts of unconditionally obeying and being unable to betray their master are deeply embedded within them.
Unless the master dies, or ownership is transferred.
Therefore, the innate nature of a Magic Life is obedience.
Laischa was undoubtedly one of the luckier ones.
"The person who initially created me seems to have died during my discarded deep sleep, and they didn't transfer ownership of me to anyone else. So, I am free. Unless I willingly acknowledge a new master, I can continue to exist in this world as a pure member of the Demon Clan."
Laischa turned her head to look at Shane.
"Lasha's master is me; unless I die or transfer her to someone else, she can never refuse my commands."
This is the iron rule of Magic Life, or one might say, their fate.
After saying so much, what Laischa really wanted to express was...
"Do you know how many people have been wary of us coming together over these ten years?"
"My existence itself is a concentration of the Demon King's magic power."
"Lasha's existence is the Demon King's body."
"If the two of us being together were to produce some sort of chemical reaction, such as merging into one, perhaps the original Demon King herself cannot be resurrected, but the appearance of a monster with a portion of the Demon King's power unleashing havoc on this world is not impossible."
That is why the Kingdom, out of caution, dared not pursue Laischa who stole away the Demon King's body. The Divine Race and the Demon Clan also decided, after mutual consultation and restraint, not to accidentally contact or interfere with this master-servant pair, to avoid provoking something terrifying.
The people of the world became all the more wary of this pair, resembling twins.
This wariness was even deeper than that towards Death Magic.
"It's one thing for a clueless Hero to come so close to us, but now he has even become involved with Lasha. How big do you think that is?"
Laischa's statement left Shane speechless once again.
Is this matter a big deal?
If you say it's big, it would be very big.
If you say it's small, it would also be very small.
As long as nothing happens, it's just an insignificant little thing.
But once something does happen, that's when the trouble starts.
"In this case, how do you expect me to hand Lasha over to you?" Laischa sighed deeply and said, "I really don't know what to do."

That this maid and her mistress were actually parts of the Demon King?
What's even more absurd is that he, a Hero, seemed to have taken advantage of the Demon King, at least he had taken his body, which made it even more preposterous.
In such an absurd situation, Shane declared he really didn't want to think any more.
Otherwise, he didn't know how many brain cells he'd have to lose.
Laischa also appeared bewildered, not knowing how to react.
At that moment, all Laischa could do was let out a sigh.
"Strange things happen every year, but this year there's just too many."
Laischa muttered to himself.
"If that Goddess knew about this, knew that the Hero she pinned all her hopes on and painstakingly summoned got picked off by my Lasha, she'd probably blow a fuse again, right?"
Shane didn't hear this sentence.
Not because his enhanced hearing was inadequate, but because his mind was overwhelmed and refused to process any more information overload.
Having completely given up, Shane dropped this sentence and turned around, disappearing from sight.
It was unclear how long this state of suspended thought could last.
