Luoqi didn’t know whether to be angry or embarrassed, her pretty face flushed crimson, her beautiful eyes brimming with indignation, pointing at Shane, her hand trembling.
Shane cleared his throat, turned away, and looked at the mansion before him.
“Upon closer inspection, this place is actually pretty nice. Yep, very nice, quite fitting for me.”
Shane proceeded to nod seriously, feigning approval with an air of great satisfaction.
Luoqi nearly fainted with rage.
This shameless guy, given a house this big for free, was still playing coy, and now that he’s taken advantage, he actually wants to accept it? What utter dregs!
In a fury, Luoqi grabbed Shane’s hand and before he could react, she bit down fiercely.
Shane let out a sorry howl, his face, once proud and victorious, morphed into a picture of pain.
“Let go, let go! Ow! Are you a dog?!”
Shane struggled desperately.
Damn! Had his Resistance Skill stopped working? Why did it hurt so much?!
Shane’s face twisted in pain.
Luoqi, however, had thoroughly vented, leaving a very obvious set of teeth marks on Shane’s hand before finally letting go.
“That’ll teach you to bully me, Princess! You deserve it!”
Luoqi huffed coldly, turned on her heel, and took off running.
Shane rubbed his hand and gasped for air, and upon seeing Luoqi making her escape, he ground his teeth and shouted.
“Luoqi and Lusi! You’re done for!”
Shane immediately pursued her in a rage, intent on showing this girl some discipline.
So they crashed into the mansion, one running, one chasing, and ended up playing hide-and-seek for a whole hour.
With no other choice, since Shane was not one to take a loss lying down, and Luoqi didn’t dare let herself be caught by him, combined with their nearly equal strength and stamina, the result naturally was a persistent stalemate, with one never caught and the other never managing to catch.
When night fell, they had no choice but to call a truce in the garden.
“We have an agreement, you’re not allowed to use this to take revenge on me later.”
Luoqi made her demand from a distance, still hiding behind a tree.
“All right, come on out.”
Shane looked at her, completely at a loss, his anger dissipated, only helplessness and resignation left on his face.
“If you back out, I’ll tell everyone in the Royal Capital at tomorrow’s routine appearance that you were rude to me.”
Luoqi peeked out from behind the tree, issuing this warning.
Shane was almost defeated by her.

But now, in front of him, she acted like a little girl who had lost all her dignity. Just what was her true face?
Shane was nearly bamboozled.

“I bit you once, you bit me once, we’re even.”
Shane implied as much with his statement.
Luoqi paused, then quickly grasped the meaning behind Shane’s “I bit you once”, and her cute face instantly turned red again.
Seeing her react that way, Shane smiled.
That’s right, he only needed to understand one thing.
That blushing, flustered expression, it must be her genuine self, from deep within her heart.
To sum it up in one sentence.
“I don’t lose out at all on this exchange.”
Instead, Luoqi began to feel indignant.
“The Princess’ favor isn’t so easily taken.”
Luoqi muttered under her breath, then stepped out from behind the tree and came up to Shane, grabbing his hand.
“You’re still going on?!”
Shane jumped at her action and immediately tried to pull away.
However, Luoqi stopped Shane with a serious and dignified expression.
Stunned by Luoqi’s earnest and solemn look, Shane unconsciously ceased his struggles.
Luoqi then took a moment to look at the teeth marks on Shane’s hand, and then at him, as if wanting to etch his image deep into her memory, before gently caressing the teeth marks on his hand.
Shane exclaimed with surprise.
He suddenly felt a strange magic flow from her slender fingertips into his hand with her light caress.
As this happened, the teeth marks on Shane’s hand inexplicably looked mysterious, almost mystical, like some ancient patterned mark.
Shane asked in astonished amazement.
“It’s nothing, just a little mark for you,” Luoqi glanced at Shane and then, with what seemed like a complicated expression, said, “That way, you can’t run away in the future.”
After leaving these words behind, Luoqi turned and walked away.
There remained only Shane, staring at the mark on his hand, his heart pounding.
“Could I have been cursed?”
This… was a bit frightening…
