Pamela sighed. Why couldn't any of them say a word of it to her? She should at least know they would be travelling. Even her mother, sister Susana were mute about it.
"When you were away last night, his highness' lawyer brought the papers to the queen. But she refused to sign it and sister Susana decided to visit Middletown City.
Her majesty discouraged her about it but she insisted on leaving this morning. Since she was determined to go, her majesty decided to accompany her…" Alyana explained.
Pamela nodded. So that's it. Her grandma wouldn't sign the divorce and her mom decided to leave for Middletown City to see her father and talk to her.
It's better that way. She had been worried that her grandparents were going to get separated towards the end of their lives. For God's sake, they are old now, they should never conceal the idea of divorce at this stage of their lives.
When the breakfast was over, Pamela received a call from Alice. It's been a few days since they last spoke with each other.
Everyone seemed to be busy with their activities. She and Lucas, nursing their chemistry and getting more acquainted with each other.
She, on the other hand, is busy with life, family and mending relationships. It's just getting more tangled and yet, it is getting to the point where it will eventually get settled.
"Hello girlfriend" Alice said, she has something important to tell Pamela. She doesn't know if she's to break the news to Pamela first or she should tell Lucas about it first.
"It's been a while, Alice. How have you been?" Pamela asked. Looks like she and Lucas got disappointed at her outburst to Louis the last time they met.
She knew Lucas better than anyone else, to know that he was avoiding her. He knew her level of temper and she might say unpleasant words to him.
"I think I'm feeling great right now. I need to see you. It's important that we see babe" Alice chimed. She's all excited.
"Let's say lunch. I'm going out with Louis tonight. Will that be okay?" Pamela replied, smiling broadly. Something seems fishy.
"Oh! You and Louis. That's sweet. This is something I had looked forward to hearing for a while now. But fine, I will inform Lucas as well. Let's meet up" Alice agreed.
Louis and Pamela are beginning to get along. It would be amazing if everything fell. into place again. Lucas is worried sick about her.
He is not saying it out, but she knows. She sensed how he talked about her. But somehow, he was not interested in going to see her. Perhaps, to avoid an old time grudge coming up again.
"Alright then, see you by noon" Pamela concluded. Before hanging up Alice requested "Kindly come along with my godson Ethan"
Pamela agreed and hung up. She can't handle Ethan without his nanny. Maybe she'll have to come along with her
Few minutes later, Louis called her to remind her of the party later that evening. Pamela said alright. She only asked him to remind her an hour before the party begins.
Louis chuckled aloud and said he missed her very much and decided to hear her voice before he began the day's activities.
For the entire day, Louis was excited. Pamela indeed was going to honour his invitation and come? He would place her among dignitaries and wouldn't want her out of his sight.
Pamela went to lunch with the lovers and Alice broke the news, she is pregnant. Lucas and herself are going to become parents.
When she said it, Lucas was caught off guard. He just stared at her. What did she say, pregnant with his child or with someone else's as Emma once did?
Pamela glared at Lucas. The latter's eyes were fixed on Alice. Is she for real? His eyes were red and for some seconds, he couldn't say anything.
"You're going to be a father, Lucas," Alice repeated. She hugged him. That was when Lucas found the courage to hug her and smiled.
He glanced at Pamela. She was beaming with a megawatt smile. This is awesome. Finally, Alice became pregnant after two months of trying to be.
The weeks that followed his minor surgery, they ensured they utilized their time together during her ovulation but nothing happened. Her period came.
The next month, they tried but she still didn't get pregnant. When her period came, Lucas was discouraged. Is he really alright? Is there a slight chance that he could get Alice pregnant?
He didn't express his worries to Alice in words but he was skeptical. When Alice told him she was ovulating again, he gave it a shot and this time it yielded a result.
"Congratulations Lucas" Pamela chimed. Her friend is going to be a father eventually. This is good news. This is something that Emma would have put heads together with him and achieve.
But what interested her was opening her V to another man. A married woman whose son was fathered by another man. Such a shameless act.
Anyways, they're not sisters anymore, the best they can ever be is cousins. Even though Emma seemed to have become a changed person, going to jail made her a different woman.
But then, her relationship with her is limited. She's not open minded nor has she brought her into her home and to her children. And for Louis, she would ensure that Emma never goes anywhere around him.
"Thank you Pamela," Lucas said and gave her a hug. She should have been the one, she should have been the mother of his child, but it is never going to happen again.
"When can we visit the hospital for an ultrasound? I really want to hear the child's heartbeats" Lucas requested.
"As soon as you are ready, we can go dear," Alice replied. The rest of the lunch time was spent in excitement. Lucas cannot express just how excited he was.
Now that Alice is pregnant, it appears he would be taking their relationship more seriously than he had wanted. They need to make it official.
"Where's Ethan?" Alice asked, looking past Pamela. She remembered telling her to bring her godson along with her to lunch.
"With his nanny, obviously hanging somewhere around here" Pamela responded.
The friends smiled. Ethan is going to be a big brother soon. The lunch was fun and Alice went to fetch Ethan, bringing him to herself and kissing his chubby cute cheeks.
Few hours later, Pamela arrived at the giant gate leading to Hayden's cooperation…
