King Tarvan sprang out of bed. He was dressed in a loose robe. He opened the door and dashed out rushing towards the concubine's quarters.
He saw little Clarion stiffened on the bed and he carried her. "Call the doctor!!" Tarvan ordered.
"Your highness, my baby is dying, please save her '' the concubine sobbed, she kneeled down before Tarvan and held the hem of his loose robe.
When the doctor came, he shook his head. He asked everyone to step out except his highness and his concubine. He examined the baby and tried to resuscitate her.
Other medical teams joined him but it was late. They couldn't resuscitate her. Baby Clarion had gone stiffened and cold. Her soul had gone. She was dead.
The doctor gently covered the baby and turned to glare at his highness. He bowed his head and said "we tried sir.
We tried to resuscitate her. But it was late. The convulsion was too strong for the baby and she wasn't attended to on time. We are sorry, your highness" the doctor explained.
"What are you saying? What happened to my baby?" The concubine asked and turned to glare at his highness. But of course his highness understood. He knows what the doctor's words meant.
"I'm sorry, your majesty. We couldn't save her. She's dead" the doctor declared.
"No, my baby! Clarion, Clarion!" The concubine screamed and went to her baby but his highness held her hand and pulled her out.
"Make preparations and bury the little princess," Tarvan instructed the guard standing by the door.
Tarvan felt like tears were going to run down his cheeks. But he held on. He wasn't going to let himself look stupid before his subordinates.
For the second time, a princess would be buried. He couldn't give the first daughter a burial. He would give this second one a befitting burial because despite being a baby, she's a princess.
"No, your highness. I can't watch my baby being buried. King Tarvan, you should do something for our daughter. Save Clarion however you can.." she threw herself at Tarvan's feet.
"I wish there was something I can do to bring her back…"Tarvan trailed off. More than her, he was broken. His first daughter, gone. Now the second, also gone.
The other concubines came over and took her away. King Tarvan went back to his chambers and sobbed. He lost Alice and now, he lost his little daughter?
All he hoped for is the third concubine. She was due any moment soon. He hopes her own child lives. Losing a child is not a pleasant experience for anyone.
For the rest of the day, King Tarvan didn't step out. He was mourning the death of his daughter. He is not getting any younger, and twice,he has lost his daughters.
He wished Clarion was there. She had been his companion more than half of his life. His most loving friend, wife and his most beloved woman.
In Oak City, Louis called his lawyer and told him to hasten the divorce process. He wants Miranda Alvan to get the papers before leaving the hospital to jail.
He is in a hurry to hasten it. He wants to break away from her and sever ties with her so that he can be able to pursue his woman again.
His lawyer informed him that he would ensure it happens exactly how he had desired. And besides, he had added the compensation right of Louis Hayden to be a little harsh. And as it is, Miranda has no option than to accept it.
While Louis Hayden was communicating with his lawyer, Pamela and Fred Meyer were stepping into a club house.
Fred Meyer had invited her for a date. Pamela accepted it. She readily wants to get free from the pain of her break up with Louis. Anything else that would hasten her to forget about him completely, she was ready to do it.
Fred made a reservation for a table of two. He walked Pamela to it and pulled a seat out for her.
They made an order and while he sat down opposite Pamela. They had dinner, Fred Meyer never stopped fixing his gaze on her.
"Has Louis ever brought you here?" He asked. Placing his cutleries down and taking a glass of water to his mouth.
"Louis and I had been on several dates. But never to this place" Pamela replied.
"Mm.." Fred hummed. He glanced at her fingers and didn't see her wear her engagement ring. His eyes brightened up with excitement.
He smiled quietly. He knew things were working for him. He would ask her before they got back. He wants to know if she'd indeed broken up with her ex.
From there, he took her to a barbeque. They spent a little time there and left. When they were returning, Fred Meyer parked by the side of the road and asked "You aren't wearing your engagement ring"
"Yes I broke up with Louis" Pamela replied and looked away from him. She rested her head on the seat and sighed.
"Did he remember everything now?" Fred Meyer asked, surprised. How was she able to break up with him?
"Louis is alright now. He came to the house to reconcile with me. But I immediately took advantage of the opportunity and broke up with him.
It's over between us now. He should be happy with his wife while I will find a way to make myself happy. We have parted ways" Pamela explained.
"Stay strong Pamela. I am here for you" Fred Meyer assured, holding her hands affectionately.
When Pamela arrived home, Fred went in with her. Queen Clarion saw Fred and immediately recognised him. "You are minister Meyer's son?" She asked.
"Yes, your majesty," Fred Meyer answered. Immediately he was liked by Clarion. She knew Minister Meyer had a son, but she'd not met him before.
But will any chemistry ever evolve between them? He is single and Pamela has five kids now. She doesn't want her to get involved with someone who might not have that respect for her.
She waved the idea off. Pamela is better off alone with her kids. Being a single Mother would do her more good than being married to a man.
In the quiet night, Lucas and Alice were greatly intertwined.
