"You're awake," came the voice of the young Hospitaller beside him. "Don't worry. That big guy outside is incredibly strong. The Tyranid swarm has been driven far away. It's even chasing them down. We can only see it using our observation instruments now."
Rhodes' heart pounded. She didn't kill me while I was asleep? That was close… real close!
He had only planned to rest for an hour, but damn it—he had fallen asleep.
"I already told you, I have no intention of harming you. I even protected you. When two Astra Militarum soldiers came by earlier to deliver water, I specifically hid you behind me so they wouldn't find you!"
"You must be thirsty. Here, have some water."
Elena handed Rhodes a cup of fresh water.
