Chapter 215: Shut Out
The receptionist raised her freshly painted nails, leisurely blowing on them with an indifferent air.
Even when Meng Youjing spoke to her, she paid no attention whatsoever.
She said unhurriedly, "President Zhang is in a meeting right now. Please make an appointment if you have something to discuss." The receptionist didn’t even bother lifting her head, continuing to blow on her nails, her garish appearance suggesting she was no good lady.
Meng Youjing exchanged a glance with Huahua, feigning a bit of anger, "Could you please let your President Zhang know that we need to see him urgently?"
Meng Youjing tried to keep her tone as even as possible.
But the receptionist remained cold and indifferent, her face instantly filled with displeasure.
"Are you guys annoying or what? I already said President Zhang is in a meeting. Make an appointment and I’ll let him know when he’s free," she snapped.
Meng Youjing was clearly getting angry. She had made the effort to come in person, yet she was being brushed off by a mere receptionist. This was becoming rather uncomfortable for the normally proud Meng Youjing.
Just as she prepared to confront the receptionist, a pair of strong hands caught her, and she felt a broad arm gently press against her back.
Zifeng approached with a sunny smile, radiating warmth, "Miss, if you like manicures, I can recommend some of the most popular nail polishes on the market. The one you’re using appears to be diajrhg nail polish. It’s pretty, but it smells a bit strong and has a high chemical content. I know of a French product called L’Essence de Beauté for nails that’s not only affordable but also protects them against routine damage."
Zifeng spoke with confidence, his success and determination clear on his ruggedly handsome face.
It was then that the receptionist, previously absorbed in applying her nail polish, finally showed some interest. Upon hearing Zifeng’s voice, rich with magnetism, she looked up and found his radiant smile extremely comforting.
Her expression lit up as if discovering a new world.
Her demeanor changed completely in an instant
Even Meng Youjing and Huahua beside her started to look at Zifeng in surprise, as if he had become a completely different person today, especially with his poise and natural manner.
The unhidden charisma he exuded was indeed striking. It’s easy to dream, but who knew what he would be like once he got home. In their eyes,
Zifeng was at best a master of disguise. If he could maintain this facade, Meng Youjing and Huahua might even feel the impulse to fall for him.
"Oh? Handsome, you know about these things too?"
The receptionist’s eyes glittered, her demeanor provocative and flirtatious. In an instant, her elusive gaze swept over Zifeng from head to toe.
Her gaze lingered openly on the black bracelet on Zifeng’s right wrist, and her eyes filled with covetous desire.
Leaning forward, the woman rested her arms on the counter, revealing a generous view of her cleavage, with the loose top exposing an ample swatch of her pale skin.
Tossing her hair back gracefully, she fixed her sultry eyes firmly on Zifeng’s.
"May I ask when will President Zhang’s meeting be over?"
Zifeng remained composed, his gaze sharp and exuding an aristocratic air. A quick assessment told the receptionist that Zifeng must be some rich scion. How else could he afford the priceless Black Jade on his wrist?
"President Zhang is in his office. Do you want to see him? Shall I inform him for you?"
"Thank you, but there’s no need, I’ll go to him myself," Zifeng replied with a faint smile. As he was leaving, the receptionist extended her fair arm to offer Zifeng a small slip of paper. He didn’t even glance at it and threw it into the wastebasket on his way into the office.
He then led the two women directly to this so-called President Zhang’s office.
As they walked down the hallway, company employees looked their way time and again, envious and resentful upon seeing Zifeng flanked by two stunning women.
They reached the office without announcement, but just as they were about to enter, voices emerged from inside.
"President Zhang, don’t, this is the office, it wouldn’t be good if others saw us," a woman’s voice came from inside. Without a doubt, something exciting was happening there.
Zifeng curled his lip, not expecting to stumble upon such a spectacle today. It seemed his visit wasn’t in vain after all.
But just as he was about to start undressing,
suddenly there was a knock at the office door. It annoyed President Zhang, who was about to "burn with desire".
With a voice like a squawking duck, he bellowed, "Who is it? I’m busy now. Come find me after work if you have something."
He thought his roar would make the knocker retreat, but the knocking continued.
This really angered President Zhang. With appalling timing, someone came knocking just as he was in the middle of something. It quite ruined the mood for the plump President Zhang.
The persistent knocks deflated his anger somewhat, and he decidedly planned to catch and berate the wretch as soon as possible.
Hastily, he tidied up his trousers.
The woman underneath him heard the urgent knocking and looked up with deep dissatisfaction. Though she said nothing, her face was like that of a woman scorned.
After the plump man had fixed his clothes, he prepared to face the visitor.
