Chapter 129: Is This a Joke?
It was rush hour, and many office workers were green with envy as they saw Lin Zifeng getting into Mu Yang’s car. Their frustration was palpable!
A fine piece of "cabbage," and it looked like the "pig" would get its way tonight.
The thought of such a beautiful woman becoming someone else’s "dish," merely a morsel in another’s mouth, was downright cruel to them. They even fantasized about how marvelous it would be if that exquisite body could be in their arms for an xxoo session, to put it lightly.
Unfortunately, in the presence of a beautiful woman, they were nothing more than bystanders.
At most, they’d go home at night, mouth holding a roll of paper, and rely on their left and right hands for some relief.
Sometimes, men’s imaginations could be terrifying, especially those sleazy single men longing for liberation. Seeing a beauty "taken" by someone else elicited such despair that it felt like a deeply personal violation, akin to an act of vengeance or bone-crushing grief.
When they were in the CEO’s office, Lin Zifeng agreed to catch a ride home with Nangong Bing. Although Nangong Bing didn’t verbally consent, she was considering waiting for him in the parking lot for a few minutes since his performance today wasn’t too shabby. But lo and behold! The jerk had disappeared! Nangong Bing, out of concern, searched high and low for him, only to find not even a trace, which left her indignantly embarrassed. She had intended to offer him a ride home, possibly even concoct a small excuse not to, so that Mr. Lin would flatter her a bit. But now, he was nowhere to be found.
Fuming, Nangong Bing drove her car, inwardly swearing never to give that bastard a ride home again. He had irresponsibly sneaked away on his own.
Sitting in Mu Yang’s car, surrounded by her mature allure, it was undeniable that she was fascinating. The faint scent that she radiated, as well as her feminine charm, indeed gave this woman extraordinary appeal.
"Does it smell good?"
As she drove, Mu Yang, noticing Lin Zifeng acting sneakily, asked with a coquettish smile.
"It smells, really good."
Of course, Lin Zifeng wasn’t foolish enough to contradict her question.
After all, no matter the woman, they never tire of flattering words. Whether you’re speaking the truth or not, it makes them feel good regardless, a fact beyond dispute.
"Then you can come a little closer and smell."
Watching Lin Zifeng’s tempted look, Mu Yang felt a hint of sweetness in her heart, especially since he had just complimented the scent of her body, which secretly delighted her a little.
Um... come closer and smell? Lin Zifeng was taken aback at first. This woman’s words were so suggestive, always tantalizing, especially those jewel-like eyes that undoubtedly stirred every man’s heart. But Lin Zifeng was no longer the nave young man he used to be; maybe she was just teasing him with suggestive remarks.
"What’s the matter? Are you shy or something? I’m not the least bit embarrassed, so what are you afraid of? I’m not going to eat you up," she said with provocation.
Looking at Mu Yang’s prettily youthful face, and those words laced with innuendo after innuendo, Lin Zifeng really started to regret getting into her car. Could it be that she really intended to devour me?
"What, what a joke! A big guy like me, scared of you?"
"It’s possible, oh. You men always say one thing to a person’s face and another behind their back. Are you not feeling guilty and scared?"
"Heh. Tell me, Supervisor Mu, are you trying to seduce me or what?"
Lin Zifeng flashed a naughty smile. "I am a married man, you know. Even if you wanted to seduce me, there should be an order to these things. If you had tried to seduce me a few years back, maybe I would’ve fallen for it, heh heh. But now, we’re all adults, and your tricks don’t work on me."
"Heh, a joke. I would seduce you? Have you not seen the men lining up behind me? Besides, with me being just a lowly company security guard, why would I go to all that trouble to seduce you? No money, no power. Even if I wanted to seduce someone, I would at the very least look for a sugar daddy or something. Who knows, I might actually become a mistress and get kept by someone, isn’t that even more comfortable? Better than exposing myself every day as a young woman."
"Ouch! You scared me to death! I really thought you were using moving house as an excuse to seduce me, but now that you’ve put it that way, I’m finally relieved and freed from that thought. " Lin Zifeng exaggerated his reaction and even pretended to wipe sweat off his brow, acting like a rascal.
"You, you despise me that much?"
Mu Yang was stunned! It took her a long time to react, but there was now a hint of desolation in her eyes.
Was it that no one liked her, or what? Even if I were seducing you, you wouldn’t have to react so strongly. Moreover... I, I was not seducing you, okay?
"Alright! Supervisor Mu, I’m glad you’ve made everything clear. Otherwise, I would have been really nervous tonight. As he said these words, Lin Zifeng could almost manage to do so with a straight face, without blushing or skipping a beat, lazily lighting up a cigarette and taking a natural drag as if his previous talk was a true reflection of his experiences.
After listening, Mu Yang’s gaze became somewhat enlightened. She was dazed for a few minutes before expressing in disbelief, "You, you really have a wife? You are really married?"
"Damn! A guy like me who’s almost twenty-five, how could I not be married? Haven’t you heard that poor families have their children take charge early? With neither money nor clout, if I didn’t marry early, would I even be able to find a wife later on?"
Mu Yang cracked a slight, beautiful smile, a little embarrassed and with complex emotions. So, he was really married.
Seeing her suddenly cold beautiful face, Lin Zifeng inwardly gave bitter smiles and mused to himself: Even if I were single, it wouldn’t be possible for me to get involved with you. I still haven’t even dealt with my own issues yet; where would I find the interest to talk about such romantic entanglements? Go ahead and hate me. The more openly you hate me, the more comfortable I feel inside.
Thinking of the many unresolved issues weighing on him, Lin Zifeng’s deep eyes gradually turned colder. Leaning against the car window, he felt the outside scenery streaming past.
The journey was quiet, with Mu Yang occasionally glancing at Lin Zifeng. But seeing him deep in thought, she refrained from disturbing him. Still, the way Lin Zifeng looked while in thought was indeed quite appealing...
