Liam's voice being raised makes me get up quickly from the table. Rounding the corner, right when Liam's hands ball up and he finishes telling Chad that no one would take his case.
I go to step foward, but Alex puts his hand out gently stopping me. His focus goes back on Liam. Alex is right, I don't need to step up behind Liam when he is this mad.
"So, you're my son." Chad, I am assuming, is looking Liam up and down.
"I am not your son." Liam grits out.
"Sure you are. You're half of me to even be here. You was just such a patheic little boy and never manned up even at a young age. No matters, you owe me the money too then." Chad has spit coming out of his mouth.
I stare at Liam as he starts to shake.
"Get off the property now before I call the cops." Merissa all but screams.
"You think you can order me around?" Chad laughs.
"Leave now." Liam steps up, making Chad step back.
"You're nothing, I could take you where you stand." With that Chad throws a fist straight for Liam.
I watch in horror and hold my scream in.
Liam is quick to drop back out of reach for Chad's fist. He comes right back at Chad and lands his right hook on the target, making Chad fall back on the ground. Chad spits out blood, as Liam goes to step up closer to him raising his fists again.
Alex gets out the door and grabs ahold of Liam's fist that was fixing to swing. Taking the hit, himself.
I run out as Merissa cries. Stepping out in front of Liam, putting my hands on his chest. Stopping him from getting closer to Chad, who has been smart enough to stay down on the ground.
Chad doesn't say anything getting up, but I can feel him staring at Liam and I.
Hearing the crunch on the grass going away from us. I turn my head and Chad has got his car door open staring at us.
"Be lucky your little slut stopped you. I was just getting warmed up." Chad flips us the bird and jumps in his car, squealing his tires.
I look back at Liam, who is breathing hard.
Maddy steps out of the house with a wet cloth to clean the small amount of blood from Alex's busted lip.
Liam spins and sees what he done.
"I am so sorry." Liam sighs rubbing his hands down his face.
"Man, how many times have I stepped in to stop you. I knew better." Alex laughs, wiping the blood off.
I walk over to Merissa and give her a tight hug.
"I am so sorry. This is my fault." She cries.
"No Mom, this is not your fault. We just need to find out how he got your address." Liam comes over and hugs her.
"I did call the cops, they should be here any minute." Maddy gives us a sad smile.
Liam nods.
"We do need to make a report of this event. Just so it is documented. If he does find a lawyer this can't be used against us."
"What about you hitting him though? Your hit landed, but his didn't." I look at Liam.
"I have no clue, it is our word against his right now." Liam sighed.
"Actually, it isn't. I started a video right when we left the table. So I have everything on video as proof." Maddy speaks up.
She is holding her phone in one hand and Alex's phone in the other.
"I used his phone to call the cops, because Chad was not leaving after being told and then he attempted to hit you." Maddy explains.
"That will help, then." Alex nods.
A cop car pulls in the drive. "Good evening folks. I got a call there was a domestic dispute."
"Chad left, but we have a recording of what happened and now just need to make it official on paper." Liam steps up talking to the Officer.
I sit on the front step while Liam, Merissa, and Alex talks with the Officer.
"That was something else." Maddy sighs, sitting down next to me.
I nod my head. I have never seen Liam get mad like that before. I knew he would no doubt be capable of that with what he has told me, but to actually see it.
Would it be bad of me to say it didn't scare me, but instead turned me on? The way his muscles flexed and his movements were flawless.
The Officer gets in his car and leaves.
"How about some dessert? We all need something sweet after this." Merissa gives to joke making the air feel lighter.
Liam wraps an arm around me and we walk back in the house.
"Wait a minute. You said that you have took his hits before?" Maddy looks to Alex and Liam.
Alex laughs.
"Yeah, Liam can hit like a truck too. There was several guys that would start fights in the Army. Liam never took a swing without sending one back. There was a few times Liam got so worked up it took several of us to get him off the other guy."
"That was because the guy got back up and came after me yet again." Liam shakes his head.
"What was it over?" Merissa asks.
"The guy was just an ass. He would throw everyones tools on the ground and then kick them away from you after. He pulled that on a newbie and Liam stepped up when the guy pulled it and Liam told him to pick it up for the newbie since he done it, after that the guy just swung."
Liam stares at the small plate of the cake.
"I couldn't take the guy taunting everyone again." Liam sighs.
"He never did either." Alex shakes his head.
The conversation steers back onto the shops and the evening goes by smoothly.
Liam takes us home and once the front door is shut he looks uneasy.
"I am sorry Scarlett, I never wanted you to see that part of me." Liam sighs.
I wrap my arms around him.
"I am here for you. That means all parts of you." I kiss his jawline earning a moan.
"Besides, it got me kind of hot and bothered." I smirk.
"Really?" Liam kisses my lips, sparking the heat between my legs to come back to life.
"I'll show you." I whisper as we go to the bedroom.
