Chapter 4
In the darkness, I was lying on the floor, entangled with my thoughts and broken heart, hearing voices from outside the pack members protesting against me. All I could do was choose my thoughts to avoid the haters.
I did not know how the other day had arrived so quickly; I felt someone's presence in my half-sleep; if that person wanted to harm me, he would have done it sooner; why did the person take a risk to come by?
When I heard a small door creak, I jerked my frozen body to the other side until my blurry eyes cleared, and that person left.
I was staring at the door for a minute, curious about the visitor when I came to my senses and noticed the door was slightly open, so I got up, ignoring my injured body.
I slowly opened the door to make sure it was open, and a creaking sound came out as I did so. Was it Adam or Amara who opened the door for me to escape?
The dungeon's main gate was already open, and my heart was pounding. I peeked out from behind the wall, and a few pack members were sitting by the fire on a cold night, talking about the upcoming trial.
"I don't think Xavier should be the judge," the woman stated.
"Don't you believe him?" the man inquired.
"What would he do to punish his wife? He is still trembling," the lady stated.
"We are Oak. We live for justice, and I trust Xavier to make the right decision," a man said.
I stood there watching Amara go by.
They were picking on her because she was my friend.
"Did she say anything to you?" the man inquired of Amara.
Amara said nothing as she walked away from them. Some of them were blocking her path.
"When did she become involved with Levine? Was Xavier insufficient for that, bi***?" the man teased.
"You know nothing," Amara snarled.
"What do you know?" the woman teased
I wanted to protect Amara from their cruel behavior, but I was hanging by a thread, so I moved silently and crouched down next to the Black BMW car when a few members passed by.
I took a moment to look around the massive mansion full of lights where I was living my life with Xavier; I didn't want to accept Xavier at first because we met by our twisted fate.
We were strangers, but later I eventually accepted him and was abandoned by him. I wish he could have faith in me.
I was practically close to the woods, yet I turned around to see Xavier from behind the tree; he watching the flower pot which we both planted; we had such countless recollections together, in one second undeniably demolished.
Everyone rushed over to Xavier after he dropped the bottle of beer and collapsed suddenly after growling in pain; I also wanted to go to him, but it was my only way out; Xavier had abandoned me, and I had the right to abandon him for a while.
I began running through the dense forest at night, stopping only briefly to catch my breath; in my first attempt to flee, I did not know where I could leave the Oak's territory. But this time, I knew exactly where I had to go.
There was another territory behind the fences that the Oaks were not allowed to cross. I was almost there; I was ready to cross.
When I saw Edward standing in front of the fences, I came to a halt. Was Edward the one who unlocked the dungeon door so he could kill me here? He could have killed me in the dungeon if he wanted.
"Troublemaker wouldn't sit quietly," Edward teased.
"The bitc* couldn't stop lying," I teased back.
"Are you hurt? I assumed you'd be pleased because I paired you with the pack's most attractive member," said Edward, in a sweet tone.
"I'm going to kill you,"
"Oh, darling, protect yourself first. You murdered a beloved brother of the man who gave you the title f Luna in a pack when you are worthless," while circling me, Edward teased.
I inquired, "What do you want?"
"Just accept the crime you've committed," Edward advised.
Edward was stroking my light-brown medium-curly hair. I held my breath and watched the darkness on the other side of the fence a few feet away.
I took the small silver knife from the cloak that Xavier had wrapped around me and stabbed into Edward. His skin was burning, and I knew it wasn't enough to kill him, but it gave me some time to flee.
He threw the knife on the ground.
I was climbing the fence, almost crossing it, but Edward grabbed my leg and pulled me down, my head hit the ground hard, and I couldn't see anything but the black dots in front of my eyes for a few seconds, Edward sat on me as I was already pinned down on the ground and breathing heavily.
"Do you want your wings clipped? Can't you sit where you belong?"
"You will pay the price for hurting me. I'll make sure of that," I declared boldly.
I wasn't afraid of him, even though I knew no one was there to save me from him; I'd seen a lot and was tired of being scared.
"I'm amazed at how you can still threaten me," Edward chuckled.
I couldn't get out of The Oak Pack's most dangerous territory, no matter how hard I tried. With 1000 active members, they were the most powerful pack. Most of them were warriors.
"Tell me something. You loved Levine, Didn't you?" a grin on his face, Edward inquired.
He screamed when I pulled his hair. He preferred his hair to his fashionable fancy clothes.
I picked up the knife from the ground and stabbed the silver knife into one of his eyes, causing him to growl. I resumed my climb of the fence; he was trying hard, but the pain in his eye prevented him from focusing on me.
Finally, I jumped down the fence, the other side, while still hearing his painful voice, ran for a few minutes without looking back, and came to a halt when I noticed a man in a red dress standing a few feet away in the thick fog, his red scary eyes observing me from head to toe. His hair is tangled in braids. He appeared in front of me in an instant.
"You are not supposed to be here, lady," he said in his thick British brogue.
"I won't bother you, but could you please show me the way out?" I asked quickly.
"You came of your own volition, but you will leave this territory of my volition," man In red grinned.
I was about to run when he hit me hard on the head, knocking me out. I was watching him as he wrapped his hand around my waist to keep me from falling to the ground.
"Ssshh... You'll be fine, princess," his voice echoed.
I couldn't move because my body was paralyzed, my vision was blurry, and the other moment was completely blank.
