He chuckled, shaking his head. "Sure, you're stunning and all, but it's more than that. You have this... confidence. The kind that comes from being surrounded by a family ."
Haley's face flushed with pride as she glanced at her family, their faces softened by Dylan's words. He walked closer, his voice dropping to a gentler tone.
"You have this killer confidence, Haley. And you know what? I think it's contagious." He gestured towards Gloria, Mitchell, and even DeDe, a twinkle in his eye. "This whole family's got it. This... spark."
Dylan's speech resonated with Gloria as a foreigner, touched Mitchell as a gay man, and even struck a chord with DeDe, who is a nutty person.
The family, moved by Dylan's words, witnessed Phil shedding tears, while Claire emphasized the importance of accepting Dylan for Haley.
A wave of warmth washed over the room, even Phil's eyes glistening with emotion. Claire reached for his hand, a small smile playing on her lips. "I think we should just accept him for Haley, Phil," she whispered.
"He's perfect," Phil rasped, his voice thick with unspoken gratitude.
