Jaclyn Rae
I screamed my lungs out in agony completely hating being in the hospital. I just asked Amy to tell the head doctor to change my doctor in charge to Noah. They approved but he hasn't come by my room to check on me.
I had no other choice but to cancel the race because I'm not in the condition where I can race. I pushed away my lunch that the hospital provided me with and I don't even have the appetite to eat. I heard the door open and Noah came in with 2 other nurses.
"What took you so long?" I asked Noah and he shot me with a cold glare. He walked to me with my chart and started to check on me. I gave in because this is what I requested for him to take care of me. "Ms. Rae, you don't eat your food again." One of the nurse said and Noah turned to me.
"So you're acting like a 5 years old now?" He really knew how to push my button. I wondered if he's the same person that I went on a cute dinner with. "You're really mean.. you know that? I'm your patient." I said and Noah shook his head.
"So.. what's your answer?" I asked as he checked my bruises along. He was ignoring me and I poked his arm again and again. "Stay still, Jaclyn!" He hissed and I can see the nurses both surprised with his comeback.
"What's your answer? How could you leave me waiting?" I asked and he sighed as he's writing on the chart. "Don't even try to make a scene, Jaclyn."
"I proposed you!" I said and the two nurses gasped in shock. Noah stopped whatever he's doing on her put down my chart on the spot beside me. "You have a concussion, you're starting to act delusional." He said when I clearly have no concussion. I saw my MRI results and I'm fine except having my head hitting the window when the crash happened.
I turned to the side of my bed and reached for the navy velvet box. I opened the box and the nurses gasped in shock again. Noah looked at me disbelief and he grabbed the chart again tapping it to my head to check if I'm not crazy.
"Marry me?" I asked as I smiled and looked at him sweetly. The two nurses squealed on the side and Noah turned to them glaring. They stopped immediately and they're back on changing my bandage again.
"Don't be ridiculous, Jaclyn." He said as he continued to write something on his chart. "I'm pregnant and you will leave me like this!" I said as I pretended to be sad. The nurses looked at me concerned and they shot Noah with a cold stare. Noah ignored the shit out of me.
"We need to have an MRI test again, she has a concussion." Noah simply said. "You're too much, Noah, you can't accept the baby then I will have to abort it!"
"Please test if she's pregnant or not too." Noah said to the nurses. I looked at him disbelief and I sighed. "You really want me to do the abortion huh? You're a doctor!" I bursted completely not wanting to lose the fight.
"Dr. Clayton, I think you're too much." One of the nurses said and I nodded agreeing to it.
"Leave us alone please." He said to the two nurses and they left us immediately. I smirked evily to Noah and he tapped my chart to my head. "Nice try, Jaclyn. It won't work on me."
"Please.. I really need your help." I said seriously and he put the chart on the table next to my hospital bed. He crossed his arms and raised his eyebrows.
"Let's listen to the real reason why do you really mean that bad? Maybe I could help you out by finding another alternative." He said and I looked at him suspiciously because he's suddenly acting nice.
"This wounds will heal completely for about 2-3 weeks and till then I can't go home. I really can't." I said and he rolled his eyes at me. "You will go to work eventually." He said.
"That's true but I won't bump into my siblings or my dad when I'm at work because we work in different department."
"And why do you really want to marry me that bad? You even got a ring to propose me." He said pointing at the box. I nodded. "If I'm with you, they will leave me alone. You're the man that my dad chose so I bet he won't be suspicious. I can't be with anyone else because he will have someone spy on me."
"Dating would be enough but why marriage all of the sudden?" He asked as he leaned to the wall. "So they will leave me alone." I answered it simply.
"So you can race again?" He asked and I shook my head. "I don't think I won't be able to race for awhile with this and besides since you're a doctor, you won't let me race so.. yeah."
"What's the point of marrying me only for 2-3 weeks? It's a pain in the ass, Jaclyn."
"We can stay married until one of us find someone else." I said and smiled widely to him. He didn't look impress at all with my idea. "I want my freedom and maybe I can get it by moving out from my house."
"You're selfish, Jaclyn." He said in a cold tone. "You're only thinking about your benefit. I will help you cover your sin, help you getting out from your house and I bet there will be a lot more. It's all for your own purpose and I bet maybe one day you will sneak out the house to do street racing without me knowing." He has a point though. I didn't think about his benefits at all.
"I bet you took the advantage of me being a doctor too. I won't be home most of the time and you will use that to go out god knows what." He added and how can he be so accurate? Damn!
"Listen, Jaclyn. I already do you a favor by not telling anyone that you're here. So can you do me a favor and stop acting like this? I'm busy and you made everything clear 3 months ago about our relationship so.."
"But.." I was about to protest but he shook his head.
"Don't be selfish and besides it's for your own good." He said as he grabbed my chart and made his way towards the door.
"How about we make a deal?" I offered.
"I'm not interested, Jaclyn." He said and then he walked out from the room. I sighed and laid on my bed looking at the ceiling. He has a point.. but I'm not going to stop here.
