"Get my phone!"Miranda yelled to the passageway that Camille disappeared to a minute ago.
She discovered Camille wasn't answering. Her son continued to slip away, the quick Revelation that her son might be no more in the matter gave Miranda the distorted memory she lost. She immediately reached into her pocket and brought out her phone before dialing the emergency number as quickly as she could.
Soon the loud silence is replaced by the loud siren noises.
The three minutes were the longest Miranda had ever faced as she watched her son being strapped into the vehicle for treatment.
"Is he alright?" She frantically quizzed a paramedic attending to him. The woman ignored her and continued to do her work.
The ambulance started to move and Miranda took her seat praying to God to save her son.
"Your son is alright now." The doctor assured Miranda in his office.
"But I have to ask you a question, Your son was being poisoned. He was being fed ketamine."
Miranda wasn't the brightest learner but it had to bad.
"What's that doctor?" She quizzed.
"Well, use of the drug can cause hallucinations, brain damage, and in your son's case, even near death."
Miranda could not believe this. It could not be.
She didn't know Nathan to use hard drugs and she bought his medications... Only...
Oh my God!
"Camille!"
How could she be so dumb? Miranda instantly knew her maid was responsible. Why would she want Nathan dead?
"But he's alright now," Miranda asked the doctor and immediately browsed through her phone.
She intended to call the police.
That would ensure the murderer would not get away with what she did.
The doctor noticed her distress and queried her.
"Are you alright?"
"Yes. I just need to make a phone call." She replied.

Camille tried Rodriguez's number for the up tenth time.
She cursed herself for ever believing his sweet talks and promise of power.
It was game over for her now and she was sure Miranda would have sent the cops after her now.
She resumed packing.
She then heard a knock and craned her neck backward.
God! Could the police have arrived?
She has little or no time left.
She picked up her phone, filled with rage. Rodriguez had abandoned her at such a dire moment if she was going to fall, she was not going alone.
"If the police are at the door, you're going down :("
She then hit the send button.
Taking a deep breath, she got downstairs and went for the door.
She peeped into the spy hole and saw an unidentified man. He wasn't wearing a uniform nor could she see a badge but she had to be sure.
"Who are you?" She demanded.
"Rodriguez sent me."
Those words sent a wave of relief to her soul and spirit.
Might not be going to jail after all.
"I'm coming." She sent and rushed back upstairs to get her luggage before spiraling back like a boomerang.
"Where are we going?" She asked when she has settled in the man's car.
"Out of the city." He answered and started the car.
The journey was more like smooth sailing for Camille. After all, No jail time for attempted murder was a great cause to be celebrating.
Her phone vibrated and she checked it.
It was a message from Rodriguez,
"You failed me. I hope you get what feisty bitches get."
Camille was speechless and so carried away that she didn't notice when the man stopped the car not until something cold and metallic stopped her from breathing.
She struggled to get the garotte off but it was a lost cause.
She needed air, She needed strength, and one being withheld killed her strength.
She slowly stopped fighting and accepted death. He always won the battle in the long run, He was always the Victor.

"What's wrong Rod?" His wife asked, seeing that his mood had changed after his little time in the bathroom.
"Nathan was admitted to the hospital," Rodriguez replied.
His wife let out a muffled gasp.
"What happened? And you used your phone!"
"I'm sorry but on the bright side I found out what happened to Nathan." Rodriguez tried to cheer his wife up but she was too disappointed to even think of forgiving him.
"But you lied. It's terrible what happened to Nathan but I don't seem to get you anymore. After Miranda made you the CEO of Boulderfist', you've been distant, You're changing Today and I don't like it."
Rodriguez knew he had to calm her down but his mind was a bit distorted to think of the right words.
Camille had threatened to reveal him, hopefully, Chale would have taken care of her but he also needed to get to Nathan as quickly as he could. If Nathan was a day or hours without the pill, it would be a catastrophe to everything he had built.
All his lies would be discovered.
"I'm sorry Babe but I have to go."
Rodriguez then grabbed his coat and proceeded to the doorway ignoring his wife's silent sob.
He had to be strong. He was doing this for her and their child.
It wasn't a quick drive to the general hospital. It was one filled with Rodriguez's most dreaded thoughts.
Nathan could have revealed him for all he knew but he had to take a leap of faith.
God was on his side, he was sure he would succeed.
"Where is he?" Rodriguez asked Miranda when he sighted her.
He trembled when he saw her angry face.
Lord, please!
Her expression softened when she saw him.
"Rodriguez, What are you doing here?"
It slipped his mind. Miranda hadn't informed him of Nathan, Not yet though.
He had to think of something fast.
"Camille told me. What happened?"
"That bitch!" Miranda snarled.
Rodriguez had never seen her so mad.
"What did she do?" He asked, feigning ignorance.
"She was poisoning Nathan! I just want to know who paid that bitch the money to kill my son and when I do, they'll both rot in jail."
Rodriguez smiled, happy he wasn't hesitant to finish off Camille.
There is no finding anything Miranda.
"Where is Nathan? I need to see him."
Miranda pointed to a ward and Rodriguez rushed over.
It was now or never.
The ward door flung open before he could enter and a nurse highlighted.
"Sorry sir but nobody is allowed in as now." She said.
Rodriguez could almost pull out his hair from their roots when the nurse said this.
"But if you want, I can get you a cup of coffee."
"No! I don't want coffee." Rodriguez retorted but quickly got himself together.
Everyone was staring at him.
He couldn't let anyone get suspicious of him, he had to lay low.
"I'm sorry. My best friend is just there and...I'm stressed out." He apologized.
The nurse smiled and walked away.
Rodriguez returned to Miranda and tried hard to breathe.
He needed to get in there before Nathan revealed his truth.
