The Vampire King's Werewolf Bride Chapter 118

Ch-118 As the battle raged on, Maximus and Zaros fought valiantly against Azazel and Vrykolakas, their movements growing sluggish with exhaustion. Lenora and Adira watched with growing concern, knowing that their companions could not hold out much longer against their formidable foes. Adira, who had been feigning unconsciousness, seized the opportunity to speak with Lenora, her voice urgent with purpose. "I think they need something special to kill them," she whispered, her eyes darting towards the coffin of Lazarus. Lenora nodded, understanding dawning in her eyes. "You're right. Lazarus vowed to kill him. Then it could only mean something related to Lazarus could kill him. If Lazarus could kill Vrykolakas, then there must be something in his coffin that we can use as a weapon." "I'll go get it," Adira volunteered, determination burning in her gaze. As the chaos of battle unfolded around her, Adira's heart clenched with worry for her husband, Zaros, and her brother, Maximus. With each clash of steel and burst of magic, her anxiety mounted, fearing for their safety in the face of such formidable adversaries. Seeing Zaros and Maximus facing off against Azazel and Vrykolakas, their faces etched with determination but also with weariness, Adira couldn't help but feel a pang of fear deep within her chest. She knew the toll that the relentless battle was taking on them, their strength waning with each passing moment. Every blow exchanged, sent a jolt of fear coursing through Adira's veins. She longed to rush to their side, to lend them her support and aid, but she knew that her safety was paramount at this moment. As Vrykolakas closed in on her with murderous intent, Adira's thoughts raced to Zaros and Maximus, hoping against hope that they would emerge victorious from their respective battles. She couldn't bear the thought of losing them or facing a future without the two most important men in her life. With each passing second, Adira's worry threatened to consume her, her mind filled with images of the worst possible outcomes. But even in the midst of her fear, she clung to a glimmer of hope, praying silently for Zaros and Maximus's safety and for the strength to see this battle through to its end. If this goes on, no one will last long. All four of them will have to face their doom soon. She has to do something. That was getting Lazarus weapons. She doesn't know if they could work or not. But she wanted to give it a shot. Lenora hesitated, but Adira pressed on. "No, you stay. I'll go. They've ignored me so far. I can slip away unnoticed." Lenora was the daughter of Azazel and the granddaughter of Vrykolakas. If Lenora was to slip away, she would grab their attention. This would do nothing good. Adira was never their target from the beginning. So, now, even if she slips away, no one will notice her except her husband, brother, and Lenora. With a nod of agreement, Lenora watched as Adira dashed out of the room, her heart pounding with worry for her friend. She left the room slowly and ran across the corridors. She entered the huge coffin room of Lazarus. There was nothing related to Lazarus apart from his clothes, and his weapons. Adira swiftly located the coffin of Lazarus and retrieved the sword, its blade glinting in the dim light. She quickly ventured back to the place she came from. Adira tried to hand the sword to Maximus, as he was the reincarnation of Lazarus. But before she could make her escape, Vrykolakas lunged towards her with deadly intent, his hands reaching out to crush her throat. "I underestimated you, little bitch," Vrykolakas said as he came near her. He tried to choke her with his rotten hands. She was lifted into the air. She tried to free herself from his clutches, but his grip was a steel grip, which made her unable to free herself. Her small face puffed due to his grip and started turning purple. Zaros quickly signaled Maximus to take care of Azazel all alone while he went to save Adira. Zaros reacted quickly, stepping in to defend Adira, but even his formidable strength was not enough to stop the ancient vampire's onslaught. Adira's grip on the Lazarus sword loosened as she struggled against Vrykolakas's relentless assault, her vision blurring as darkness threatened to overwhelm her. With fierce determination, Maximus fought off Azazel, his senses heightened by the urgency of the situation. He remembered Ophelia saying Azazel could only be killed by poking his eyes out. He threw away his sword and let out his claws. He poked them, making him cry in pain. Within seconds, his body turned into ashes. Even though one enemy was done, there was another formidable enemy to take care of. Lenora let out a sigh when Azazel was dead. "Maxi, the sword!" she yelled, pointing to the sword under Vrykolakas's sword. Seeing Vrykolakas about to crush the sword, Lenora knew she needed to distract Vrykolakas, at least for a second. She gathered all her left-over energy to attack him. Since Azazel was dead, no spell has stopped her now. With a roar, she threw an attack at the Vrykolakas. He was not injured, but it left an impact. He took a few steps back, releasing his grip on Adira's neck and Zaros's sword. Zaros seized the opportunity to grab the Lazarus sword and hurl it towards Maximus with all his strength. Maximus caught the sword mid-air, his muscles straining with the effort. With a mighty roar, he charged towards Vrykolakas, his eyes burning with determination. Lenora, sensing an opening, gathered the last of her strength and unleashed a burst of energy towards Vrykolakas, forcing him to release Adira and Zaros. With renewed determination, Maximus swung the Lazarus sword with all his might, its blade slicing through the air with a resounding clang as it struck Vrykolakas with a fatal blow. With a howl of agony, Vrykolakas crumbled to the ground, defeated at last. The chamber fell silent, save for the heavy panting of the exhausted combatants, their bodies battered but victorious.
