"Come on, we are here, you will be happy and you will not think about the man next door because he is not here, and you will enjoy yourself."
"Did you know he liked me?" I whispered as he stood by his door.
"Everyone can see it." Natalie smiled when the door opened and I placed a fake smile on my face as we walked in.
I came home to find Natalie getting ready and yelling to ask where I had been, then she informed me about the lunch we are having with Sebastine in his home, we had this scheduled a week ago, and now it felt wrong being here in his home.
As we walked further in, the place reminded me a lot of Luca, and his mansion, and I always wondered why someone like Sebastine, so wealthy would own a stupid apartment complex, and never thought of giving it basic renovations like maybe fixing the laundry room.
"Smile," Natalie said again and I did. I wish I were not here but I had to, I can’t let her do this alone.
As we walked further in, we found him sitting on his couch and he turned to look at us, especially me when he smiled at me.
"Olivia didn’t spend the night at the house, what time did you finish your dinner?" Natalie asked and his eyes widened.
"You didn’t," Sebastian said, his voice was strained and his eyes filled with an unfamiliar emotion and I didn’t speak.
He can’t tell me what to do and not to do yet I found myself not saying a single word, I stared at him and I looked away.
"Can we focus on something else and not what I did last night?" I whispered
"Did you sleep with Luca?" Natalie asked, if I did, I would not be here, my parts would not feel the same and I would still be sleeping as it is.
"I didn’t, we didn’t do anything you think we did, we just had a conversation because we are long overdue for one and I needed him to know a few things that’s it." I breathed out, as I felt a wave of annoyance wash over me.
I glanced at Sebastian, who wanted to speak yet he didn’t, he kept all of his words to himself, as we watched a movie, the whole time only person I could think of was Luca, how he must be feeling, I know he is asleep and would not be awake until later today.
He has exhausted himself, I wondered if he had something to eat when he woke up, I wondered if he would come looking for me and the neighbors would tell him we had left the house.
I found myself leaving during the movie and going into the kitchen to have more snacks.
"You promised." I heard a voice from behind.
"I didn’t." I breathed out, without looking up, I didn’t want to talk about Luca especially with Sebastine who is starting to make things a bit more weird than I want them to be and it’s starting to get to me.
"You don’t see what he is doing but I can see what he is trying to do to you, he wants to hurt you now he is saddened by the fact that you have moved on with your life and all he wants to do is make you feel pain, make you suffer for leaving him and just when you fall for him again, he would hurt you again, because he knows by the time he is done with you, there is no one out there to help you." He explained.
"I know what I am doing." I breathed out. "Can you trust that? I understand you care for me both you and Natalie but neither of you knows him like I do and I know that he would never ever hurt me again." I added, I hate to explain myself to him.
"I didn’t mean to make you upset, of course I trust you, you are the smart one between you and her and you are responsible and I know you are smart, you would never do anything to jeopardize us." He said stressing the word us.
I didn’t dare ask because I didn’t want to deepen the conversation as it is, I didn’t even want to be here anymore.
The moment I smiled at him, I walked away and I settled beside her, a wave of annoyance washed over me when I rested my head on the couch.
I felt a phone vibrate and I reached for it before she did, she always had a habit of staring into my phone and no one texted me except for the people I worked for.
"What’s wrong?" She asked. "Do you have work tomorrow.?"
"Yes." I lied and she smiled, it was Luca. He wants to know where I am and he wants to know now.
I quickly texted back because I didn’t need him finding me when I got a reply from him again.
"Do I have to kill him to have him stay away from you?" The message read
"I don’t belong to you nor do I belong to him too Luca." I texted back. I could see his reaction from this and his reply is exactly what I imagined it would be, deep down he is still the same old Luca.
"Finally." I breathed out after spending three hours in his home, Natalie fell asleep when we started watching the second movie and Sebastian did all he could to make me sit beside him but I didn’t want to,
Whatever chance he is looking for, he has a better shot with Natalie than me, I didn’t come into this town to be with anyone, I came to find myself, I came to find happiness, and to be away from toxic environments.
"Maybe we should wake her up," I suggested

I wasted no time in rushing toward her and she groaned as I woke her up, I already booked our ride, no matter what he says or she says I am not staying here.
"We have to leave I have work to do and my laptop is at home, maybe another time, we will see you soon." I smiled.
"We will see him at the party." Natalie smiled as she adjusted her seating position, and a yawn escaped her lips as she stared at both of us,
"You didn’t tell her did you, he has a party in a day and he invited us a long time ago and he thinks you will not come but I told him we will, and now he is getting all worked up that you will be upset that you were not informed on time," Natalie explained.
He just placed me in a tight position.
"You are not going to let me go alone right, because I will kill you if you do." She joked and I rolled my eyes at her, I don’t think I have a choice, I could not let her even if I wanted to.
By the time we got home, I found Luca standing by his door and I ignored him when I walked into my home, he had been texting me all day, who could have thought the Alpha would know how to text, I always doubted he would.
The day went by faster than I thought and to my surprise, Luca didn’t bother to try to meet me, did I feel bad, maybe I did. I didn’t know if I wanted his attention or not, but I have a feeling he is waiting for a perfect time.
A breath falls out of my lips as I head out into the living room to my surprise to find Natalie with a dress, she held it up against her chest and she has a smile on her face.
"Look what Sebastine got." She smiled when my phone vibrated.
You are not wearing it, the message read.
He could hear us from his house, this houses have no privacy, it’s a black dress, decorated with shiny stones and I didn’t let myself think it’s beautiful.
"You are definitely going to wear it." She smiled, as she held it up against my body, she wanted me to, it looked good as she did hold it up but I didn’t want to try it on, Luca is listening in on us.
He knows what is happening and he could feel the way my heart is beating against my chest.
"Go wear it, I want to see how it looks, we have a whole day together to make sure it’s your size and perfect it." She smiled
I did as she asked but even I knew that I would not wear the dress he gave to me.
"How about we fix this, I don’t like the way it’s open." I lied and she smiled.
"Maybe just a bit." She said and I gave her a nod, who would have thought she would agree to this.
This whole party is going to be dreadful.
