Shi Yu would never agree to a breakup under any circumstances. He clearly knew that the person he loved was Chu Ci, and the engagement was merely a stopgap measure.
The next morning, after breakfast, Chu Ci, Han Xi, and Li Manman went to the hospital together. Han Xi had already alerted the obstetrician in advance. Entering the operating room, Chu Ci lay on the cold operating table, feeling as though her heart had been thrown into a meat grinder, painfully shredded.
She ruthlessly terminated the child she had with Shi Yu, and also made a final closure with her past youth, with no further entanglements from then on.
When Chu Ci came out of the operating room, her complexion looked terrible, with clear traces of tears at the corners of her eyes. Han Xi helped her put on a mask and hat, and draped a coat over her shoulders: "Let Manman accompany you home for a good rest. I’ll come over after work tonight."

Li Manman, worried sick, called Han Xi and honestly explained the situation. After hanging up, Han Xi drove over immediately.
Han Xi pushed open the door of the private room, and a strong smell of alcohol filled the entire room. She frowned, walking over to Chu Ci and angrily shouted at her: "You just had an abortion. Li Manman picked up a coat to put on Chu Ci, sighing with a heavy heart: "Let’s go home, you’re really drunk."
"I’m not drunk. Never been more... sober than now."
"Okay, okay, you’re not drunk. Let’s go home." Han Xi coaxed her and, together with Li Manman, helped support Chu Ci out of the private room.
They had only walked a few steps before running into Shi Yu, who had just come out of the elevator. When Shi Yu looked up, he saw them: "Chu Ci, what happened to you? Why did you drink so much?"
Chu Ci was now so dazed that she’d lost consciousness, her whole body weakly leaning against Han Xi.
Li Manman glared at Shi Yu, her insides about to explode: "Why did she get so drunk? You really want to know? Then let me tell you today. Thanks to you, this foolish woman just aborted your child. She’s in so much pain and heartbreak that she came out to drown her sorrows."
All of a sudden, Shi Yu’s head felt like it had been exploded, ringing "buzz-buzz" non-stop.
Chu Ci had been pregnant with his child, and then... she had aborted it.
Shi Yu pulled Chu Ci away from Han Xi and held her in his arms, his bloodshot eyes filled with pain as he looked at this woman: "I’m sorry, I’m sorry..."
