"You’re awake." Mr. Lu walked out of the kitchen with breakfast.
At the moment Han Xi saw Mr. Lu, her heart... settled.
"Hurry and wash up. You didn’t eat dinner last night. I’m afraid your stomach will hurt, so I made breakfast in advance."
Han Xi nodded, and when she glanced at the living room, she still felt lingering fear.
Mr. Lu could see she was still scared. He put down the breakfast and went over to Han Xi, taking her hand: "I’ll accompany you to wash up."
Han Xi tightened her grip on Mr. Lu’s hand, looking up at him: "Thank you for always being with me."
"Silly, I’m your boyfriend."
Back in the room, Han Xi took an outfit to the bathroom to change, and after freshening up, she went with Mr. Lu to the dining room.
Sitting at the table, Han Xi took a few bites of food, but the graphic images of dismemberment became increasingly vivid in her mind, causing her to rush into the kitchen... and vomit.
Mr. Lu followed her, gently patting her back: "Are you okay?"
Han Xi’s face didn’t look too good. She straightened up, forcing a slight smile: "It’s nothing, just thinking about those things... makes me want to vomit."
"Then don’t eat. I’ll accompany you outside for a walk."
Mr. Lu’s slender fingers combed through Han Xi’s hair, his thumb gently rubbing her cheek, love-stricken eyes full of heartache.
"Take me to work. I’m fine; you don’t need to worry."
Han Xi wrapped her arms around Mr. Lu’s slender waist, her face resting against his chest, breathing in the faint vanilla scent unique to this man.
"Are you really okay?"
Han Xi pretended to be calm, nodding: "Work can distract me, so I won’t think about those chaotic things."
"Alright, I’ll take you to the hospital, but remember to call me if anything happens."
The two didn’t continue with breakfast and changed their shoes before heading out.
In the underground parking lot, watching Han Xi enter the elevator, Mr. Lu then drove away, but instead of returning directly to the office, he went to Lin Weiyang’s residence.
At the Lin Family, the butler heard the doorbell, put down what he was doing, and walked over to open the door.
Seeing Mr. Lu standing at the entrance, the butler greeted him with a smile: "Mr. Lu, you’ve arrived."
Mr. Lu’s face looked dreadful as he brushed past the butler and walked in. Lin Weiyang, who was having breakfast in the dining room, saw Mr. Lu arrive and happily went towards him: "Jing Han, why are you here? Have you eaten breakfast?"
Mr. Lu’s eyes turned cold as he looked at Lin Weiyang, his low voice carrying a chilling threat: "Lin Weiyang, I warn you not to provoke Han Xi. If you do it again, I’ll make sure you regret it."
Lin Weiyang’s face showed a momentary stun, but it quickly vanished, her moist eyes looking innocently at the man before her: "Jing Han, what are you talking about? I don’t even know the Han Xi you’re talking about, why would I provoke her?"
Mr. Lu let out a cold laugh, his well-defined fingers forcefully pinching her jaw: "I came to find you, which means I’ve confirmed it was you. Denying it doesn’t matter, but I want to make it clear to you — Han Xi is my woman. If you dare hurt her again, I’ll go all out to come after you."
Lin Weiyang felt like her jaw was about to be crushed, her dark pupils filled with damp mist, her mournful voice tinged with sobs: "Jing Han, are you really going to go against me for a woman you’ve known less than a month? Have you ever thought about my feelings? To you, what do I even mean?"
