Chapter 1958: Corpse Fiend (part 2)
Just as the three-lobed mouth of the flesh monster was about to suck on Mr. Hui’s back head, the black-robed young man nearby flicked his long sleeve, and a sharp longsword flew out, carrying a blood-colored sword light, and pierced directly through the monster’s face.
The swift sword body carried great power.
The powerful sword qi penetrated the monster’s head, and also sent this monster flying backward, nailing it onto the stone wall of the passage.
Yet even with its head penetrated, the monster still jumped around, struggling on its own, and within a short moment, it endeavored to rise, emitting an eerie cry, heedless of the splattering black blood, indifferent to its mangled flesh, it directly pulled its bloody and deformed head out of the longsword.
Like meatballs being pulled off a skewer.
Seeing it was about to pounce again, the short and stout tomb robber nicknamed "Stone" immediately rushed forward, channeling spiritual power, covering his right arm with a layer of earth and stone armor, and punched the flesh monster into scattered limbs.
The monster’s scattered limbs still wiggled on the ground.
But they did not regroup, nor continued their attack.
Everyone breathed a sigh of relief.
Mr. Hui looked up, and a blob of flesh fell onto his face.
This was another corpse-like monster, slightly smaller in size but equally rancid and rotten, with a three-lobed mouth.
There were originally two of these monsters.
One lurking behind and one clinging to the passage ceiling.
When the first was slain, everyone relaxed briefly, and this other one suddenly appeared, pouncing onto Mr. Hui’s head.
This abrupt change caught them off guard, leaving Mr. Hui without time to react as the monster leaped onto his face.
The monster’s insect-like teeth parted, three rows of sharp fangs directly biting into Mr. Hui’s forehead.
Yet the anticipated scene of flesh exploding didn’t occur. The monster’s three-lobed mouth bit down with effort but only managed to open a little.
Though its teeth were sharp enough, it seemed to be only second grade and could not gnaw through Mr. Hui’s Golden Core Realm flesh.
The ghastly sharp teeth left a few teeth marks on Mr. Hui’s forehead, drawing a trail of blood.
Even so, the monster continued its greedy sucking, without letting go.
Mr. Hui calmed after the fright, then anger arose from his heart.
He reached out both hands, directly grabbed the monster, tore it apart, and then, enduring disgust, removed its three-lobed mouth from his face.
Stone took out a bottle of unknown spiritual liquid and handed it to Mr. Hui.
Mr. Hui poured the spiritual liquid over his head, washing away the decayed flesh and filthy blood.
Afterward, he dared not be careless, promptly took out a bottle of azure powdered medicine, sprinkled it on the wound, and ingested several pills, then sat down for introspection, ensuring there was no problem with his flesh and spiritual power, nor any signs of corpse poison, only then did he let out a long breath.

The black-robed young man nodded slightly, then curiously questioned: "Between heaven and earth, all beings have breaths, demons have demonic qi, monsters have monster qi, since this is a ’corpse’, naturally it ought to have ’corpse qi.’" He added, "Moreover, these corpse demons are imprisoned underground, with intense corpse qi, their flesh rotting to such extremes, emitting extremely pungent odor, why didn’t we detect anything?"
"This..."
Mr. Hui frowned, unable to explain.
Corpse demons vary greatly.
Some corpse demons do stink fiercely, with overwhelming corpse qi, detectable from far away.
Yet why the ones in this tomb have their aura so concealed remains unknown. .
At that moment, an elder in a black robe within the group suddenly spoke.
It was his first time speaking since entering the tomb. His voice was strangely old and carried a heavy death aura:
"Life and death, both are creations of heaven and earth. These ’corpse demons’, amalgamated with innate grievance, earth yin qi, and evil qi of the dead, transform under fortuitous circumstances."
"This is thus a creation of heaven and earth."
"Earthly creations, whether living or dead, possess unique qualities, thereby, compared to copper corpses and iron corpses, tend to have elusive abilities which no crafted items by cultivators can match."
The black-robed young man pondered for a moment, nodded, and bowed respectfully:
"This junior has been enlightened."
Even Mo Hua was astonished by these words.
This elder in black robe, whose face remained concealed, indeed harbored exceptional understanding of the Dao of Heaven and Earth.
His identity remains unknown...
Mo Hua pondered inwardly.
Nonetheless, despite this, to the group these corpse demons remain major troubles.
